The commercial viability of thermoelectric(TE)devices relies heavily on two factors:cost reduction and efficiency *** this study,we first produce p-type Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(16-x)(x=0,3,4)using a low-temperature bottom-up approach and demonstrate Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)to show the best TE performance among the three tested ***,the TE energy conversion efficiency of Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)is further enhanced by optimizing its electronic band structure through the incorporation of small amounts of *** an optimal Te content of 5 mol%,more than a twofold increase in the TE figure of merit(zT)is *** gain insight into the mechanism of improvement on the transport properties of the mate-rial,we compare the interphase transport mechanism by incorporating nanodomains of different metals(Ag and Cu)into the Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** improved electrical conductivity obtained with Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te nanocomposites is attributed to a charge flooding of the Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** contrast,excessive down-ward band-bending at the interphases of Ag/Cu metal-semiconductor drastically reduces the electrical ***,a weighted mobility(μw)analysis shows a dominant thermal activation of carri-ers in Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te *** this material,a strong decrease in lattice thermal conductivity is also found,which is associated with a phonon-carrier scattering *** work shows the impor-tance of proper band-engineering in TE nanocomposites to decouple electrical and thermal transport to enhance TE performance,and the efficacy ofμw for electrical and thermal transport analysis.

Worldwide,a majority of routine endoscopic procedures are performed under some form of sedation to maximize patient ***,benzodiazepines and opioids continue to be widely ***,in recent years,Remimazolam is gaining immense popularity for procedural sedation in gastrointestinal(GI)*** is an ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine sedative which was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in July 2020 for use in procedural *** has shown a favorable pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile in terms of its non-specific metabolism by tissue esterase,volume of distribution,total body clearance,and negligible drug-drug *** also has satisfactory efficacy and has achieved high rates of successful sedation in GI ***,studies have demonstrated that the efficacy of Remimazolam is non-inferior to Propofol,which is currently a gold standard for procedural sedation in most parts of the ***,the use of Propofol is associated with hemodynamic instability and respiratory *** contrast,Remimazolam has lower incidence of these adverse effects intra-procedurally and hence,may provide a safer alternative to Propofol in procedural *** this comprehensive narrative review,highlight the pharmacologic characteristics,efficacy,and safety of Remimazolam for procedural *** also discuss the potential of Remimazolam as a suitable alternative and how it can shape the future of procedural sedation in gastroenterology.

Studies on selected polymeric materials using the photoacoustic spectroscopic technique

Polymethylmethacrylat-graft-polybisphenol A-carbonate （PMMA-G-PC） with 50% grafting is synthesized. The graft co-polymerization of methyhnethacrylate （0.036 mol. lit-1） onto polybisphenol-A-carbonate （0.5 g） in the presence of a redox couple formed from potassium persulphate （40 mol-lit-1） and thio-urea （30 mmol. lit-1） in aqueous nitric acid （0.18 M, 100 ml） in air at （45±2）℃ for 3.0 h. Condensation of （PMMA-G-PC） with N- [p-（carboxyl phenyl amino acetic acid）] hydrazide （PCPh） affords polybisphenol-A-carbonate-graft-polymethylmethacrylate hydrazide （PCGh）. The photoacoustic （pa） spectra of （PCGh） are recorded in a wavelength range from 200 nm to 800 nm at a modulation frequency of 22 hz, and compared with those of pure polybisphenol-A-carbonate （PC）, （PMMA-G-PC） and （PCPh）. In the present work, a non-destructive and non-contact analytical method, namely the photoacoustic technique, is successfully implemented for optical and thermal characterization of selected polymeric materials. The indigenous pa spectrometer used in the present study consists of a 300-W xenon arc lamp, a lock-in amplifier, a chopper, a （1/8）-m monochromator controlled by computer and a home-made pa cell.

Bianchi type V universe with bulk viscous matter and time varying gravitational and cosmological constants

We consider spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type V space- time with a bulk viscous fluid source, and time varying gravitational constant G and cosmological term A. The coefficient of bulk viscosity ζ is assumed to be a simple linear function of the hubble parameter h （i.e. ζ = ζ0 ＋ ζ1h, where ζ0 and ζ1 are constants）. The Einstein field equations are solved explicitly by using a law of varia- tion for the hubble parameter, which yields a constant value of the deceleration pa- rameter. Physical and kinematical parameters of the models are discussed. The models are found to be compatible with the results of astronomical observations.

A field study of a roof bolter canopy air curtain(2nd generation)for respirable coal mine dust control

A 2nd generation roof bolter canopy air curtain(CAC)design was tested by National Institute for Occupational Safety and health(NIOSh)at a Midwestern underground coal *** the study,the roof bolter never operated downwind of the continuous *** a combination of personal Data Rams(pDR)and gravimetric samplers,the dust control efficiency of the roof bolter CAC was *** evaluation was determined using three methods:(1)comparing roof bolter operator concentrations underneath the CAC to roof bolter concentrations outside the CAC,(2)comparing roof bolter operator concentrations underneath the CAC to the concentrations at the rear of the bolter,and finally,(3)using the gravimetric data directly underneath the CAC to correct roof bolter operator concentrations underneath the CAC and comparing them to the concentrations at the rear of the *** 1 dust control efficiencies ranged from 53.9%to 60.4%.Method 2 efficiencies ranged from 150.5%to 52.2%,and Method 3 efficiencies ranged from 40.7%to 91%.Reasons for negative and low dust control efficiencies are provided in this paper and include:incorrect sampling locations,large distance between CAC and operator,and contamination of intake air from line *** dust concentrations encountered during the testing made it difficult to discern whether differences in concentrations were due to the CAC or due to variances inherent in experimental dust ***,the analyses,especially the Method 3 analysis,show that the CAC can be an effective dust control device.

The excitation function of the 58Ni(n,p)58Co reaction was measured using the well-established neutron activation technique andγ-ray *** in the energy range of 1.7 to 2.7 MeV were generated using the 7Li(p,n)*** neutron flux was measured using the standard 115In(n,n’)115mIn monitor *** results of the neutron spectrum averaged cross-section of 58Ni(n,p)58Co reactions were compared with existing cross-section data available in the EXFOR data library as well as with various evaluated data libraries such as ENDF/B-VIII.0,JEFF-3.3,JENDL-4.0,and *** calculations were performed using the nuclear reaction code *** nuclear level density(NLD)models were tested,and their results were compared with the present *** NLDs were also obtained through the spectral distribution method(SDM).The cross-section results,along with the absolute errors,were obtained by investigating the uncertainty propagation and using the covariance *** forγ-ray true coincidence summing,low-energy background neutrons,andγ-ray self attenuation were *** experimental cross-section obtained in the present study is consistent with previously published experimental data,evaluated libraries,and theoretical calculations carried out using the TALYS code.
