Distributed anonymous data perturbation method for privacy-preserving data mining

Privacy is a critical requirement in distributed data mining. Cryptography-based secure multiparty computation is a main approach for privacy preserving. However, it shows poor performance in large scale distributed systems. Meanwhile, data perturbation techniques are comparatively efficient but are mainly used in centralized privacy-preserving data mining (PPDM). In this paper, we propose a light-weight anonymous data perturbation method for efficient privacy preserving in distributed data mining. We first define the privacy constraints for data perturbation based PPDM in a semi-honest distributed environment. Two protocols are proposed to address these constraints and protect data statistics and the randomization process against collusion attacks: the adaptive privacy-preserving summary protocol and the anonymous exchange protocol. Finally, a distributed data perturbation framework based on these protocols is proposed to realize distributed PPDM. Experiment results show that our approach achieves a high security level and is very efficient in a large scale distributed environment.

High-purity carbon nanotubes （CNTs） with different orientation and lengths were grafted on carbon fibers （CFs） in woven fabrics by using double injection chemical vapor deposition and adjusting the growth temperature. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and Raman investigations reveal that the grafted CNTs change from being predominantly aligned and uniform in di- ameter to absolutely disordered and variable in diameter, whilst they show significantly increased crystallinity, as the growth temperature is increased from 730 ~C to 870 ~C. In tensile tests of fiber bundles, much more strength degradation of CFs was observed after the growth process at higher temperature than that at lower temperature. These hybrid preforms produced at different growth temperatures were used to reinforce carbon/carbon （C/C） composites. An increment of 34.4% in out-of-plane compressive strength （OCS） was obtained for the composites containing CNTs grown at 730℃, while the OCS increment exhibits an obvious decrease with increasing the growth temperature. Compared with the higher growth temperature, the lower temperature contributes to the decrease in the strength loss of reinforcing fibers and meanwhile the growth of large extending length of CNTs, which can provide long reinforcement to the pyrocarbon matrix, and thus increase the compressive strength better.

Predicting the future information and recovering the missing data for time series are two vital tasks faced in various application *** are often subjected to big challenges,especially when the signal is nonlinear and nonstationary which is common in *** this paper,we propose a hybrid 2-stage approach,named IF2FNN,to predict(including short-term and long-term predictions)and recover the general types of time *** the first stage,we decompose the original non-stationary series into several“quasi stationary”intrinsic mode functions(IMFs)by the iterative filtering(IF)*** the second stage,all of the IMFs are fed as the inputs to the factorization machine based neural network model to perform the prediction and *** test the strategy on five datasets including an artificial constructed signal(ACS),and four real-world signals:the length of day(LOD),the northern hemisphere land-ocean temperature index(NHLTI),the troposphere monthly mean temperature(TMMT),and the national association of securities dealers automated quotations index(NASDAQ).The results are compared with those obtained from the other prevailing *** experiments indicate that under the same conditions,the proposed method outperforms the others for prediction and recovery according to various metrics such as mean absolute error(MAE),root mean square error(RMSE),and mean absolute percentage error(MAPE).

A regular edge-transitive graph is said to be semisymmetric if it is mot vertex-transitive. By Folkman [J. Combin. Theory 3 （1967）, 215-232], there is no semisymmetric graph of order 2p or 2p^2 for a prime p, and by Malni6 et al. [Discrete Math. 274 （2004）, 18-198], there exists a unique cubic semisymmetrie graph of order 2p3, the so called gray graph of order 54. In this paper, it is shown that there is no connected cubic semisymmetric graph of order 4p^3 and that there exists a unique cubic semisymmetric graph of order 8p3, which is a Z2 × Z2-covering of the gray graph.

Thin-walled lattice materials can be applied as energy absorbers in protective structures of civil defense. In this paper, quasi-static in-plane crushing tests were carried out to investigate the crushing behavior and energy absorption of buckling induced meta-lattice structures (BIMSs) with different central angles made of plastic iron material DT3 and formed by wire cutting technique. Three crushing patterns were revealed and analyzed. The test results clearly show that the initial peak force (IPF), the crushing force efficiency (CFE), the specific energy absorption (SEA) and the mean crushing force (MCF) can be substantially improved by introducing buckling pattern into the straight-walled lattice structure. The MCF of the BIMS was consistently predicted based on the simplified super folding element (SSFE) and the flattening element.
