Photothermal CO_(2) hydrogenation is a promising route to produce methanol as a sustainable liquid solar ***,most existing catalysts require a combination of solar irradiation and additional heat input to achieve a satisfactory reaction *** the few that can be driven solely by light,their reaction rates are one order of magnitude *** develop a photothermal catalyst with multilevel interfaces that achieves improvedmethanol production from photothermal CO_(2) hydrogenation without external *** catalyst features a layered structure comprising Cu/ZnO/Al_(2)O_(3)(CZA)covered by oxidized carbon black(oCB),where the oCB/CZA interface promotes efficient heat generation and transfer,and the Cu/oxide interface contributes to high catalytic *** a mild pressure of 8 bar,our oCB/CZA catalyst shows a methanol selectivity of 64.7%with a superior production rate of 4.91 mmol-geza-1-h-1,at least one order of magnitude higher than other photothermal catalysts solely driven by *** work demonstrates a photothermal catalyst design strategy for liquid solar fuel production.

An insight into the mechanical behavior of binary granular soils

This paper investigates the participation of the fines fraction in the load-carrying structure of binary mixtures of granular soils. For this purpose, various fractions of two fine sands were added to two coarse sands with the same particle size distribution, but different particle shape characteristics. Based on the results of 144 direct shear tests, it was found that fines participation in the load-bearing structure increases with fines content. At the same fines content, the participation of the fines in the load-carrying structure of loose mixtures is greater than in samples that were initially compacted. in addition, it was observed that fines participation rises with the increase in the average size of the fines fraction.

Thermogravimetric studies of Deposited Potash impregnated for Flame-Retardancy into a Cotton Fabric

The effect of potash as a nondurable finish on the flammability of 100% cotton fabric （plain 180 g/m^2） was investigated. The bone-drled weighed fabrics were dipped into suitable concentrations of potash, with a volume of 100 mL at 20-2℃. The impregnation was followed by means of squeeze rolls and drying at 110 ℃. The samples were then reweighed with analytical precision. After conditioning overnight by using our ＂vertical flame tester＂ the optimum add-on values to impart flame-retardancy to cotton fabric was determined and expressed by 0.80 g of potash per 100 g fabric to be an efficient addition. Thermogravimetric analysis of pure cotton, treated cotton with potash at its optimum efficiency for donation of flame-retardancy into cotton fabric was fulfilled and the thermograms were compared and commented. The effectiveness of this hydroxide was attributed to the heat dissipation by the remaining consumed material during the combustion. The results obtained are in favor of ＂Dust or Wall Effect Theory＂.

Effects of different friction stir welding conditions on the microstructure and mechanical properties of copper plates

Friction stir welding is a new and innovative welding method used to fuse materials. in this welding method, the heat generated by friction and plastic flow causes significant changes in the microstructure of the material, which leads to local changes in the mechanical properties of the weld. in this study, the effects of various welding parameters such as the rotational and traverse speeds of the tool on the microstructural and mechanical properties of copper plates were investigated; additionally, Charpy tests were performed on copper plates for the first time. Also, the effect of the number of welding passes on the aforementioned properties has not been investigated in previous studies. The results indicated that better welds with superior properties are produced when less heat is transferred to the workpiece during the welding process. it was also found that although the properties of the stir zone improved with an increasing number of weld passes, the properties of its weakest zone, the heat-affected zone, deteriorated.

EMC improvement for High Voltage Pulse Transformers by pareto-optimal Design of a Geometry structure Based on parasitic Analysis and EMi Propagation

High voltage pulse transformers have an essential role in pulsed power systems and power conversion *** the electromagnetic behavior of such devices leads to better efficiency and low-level electromagnetic interference(EMi)noise propagation in *** this paper,a high voltage pulsed power system is considered and analyzed to improve their electromagnetic compatibility(EMC).The new generation of pulsed power systems that use siC and GaN fast switches in capacitor charger power electronic circuits,face far more EMi ***,in this paper,the EMi propagation paths in the pulsed power system are realized and *** EMi noise level of the system is obtained and compared to the iEC61800-3 *** improve the EMC,the parasitic parameters of the transformer,as the main path of EMi circulation,are optimized to block the EMi propagation in the pulsed power *** achieve this result,the parasitics are modeled and calculated with a novel and accurate energy distribution ***,by defining a cost function,the geometry structure of the transformer is optimized to lower the parasitics in the *** pareto-optimal techniques are investigated for the cost function *** models and results are verified by the 3D-finite element method(FEM)and experimental results for several given *** and experimental verifications of this model,make the model suitable for any desirable design in any pulsed power ***,the EMi noise level of the system after optimization is shown and compared to the iEC61800-3 standard.

Combining Knowledge-and Data-Driven Fuzzy Approach to Evaluate shelf-Life of Various seafood Products

Due to the complexity of the deterioration process of seafood products,relying on one indicator is not adequate to determine the quality of such ***,shelf-life was estimated based on various indicators complicating the decision-making *** support systems are considered as a good *** current study aims to establish a simple and novel fuzzy model based on a combination of knowledge-and data-driven approaches to define a fuzzy quality deterioration index(FQDi)in various seafood products(rainbow trout,threadfin bream,and white shrimp samples)during cold *** volatile basic nitrogen(TVB-N)and psychrotrophic microorganisms counts(PMCs)were determined based on traditional *** sensory analysis was performed by a data-driven fuzzy ***,the shelf-life of the rainbow trout fillet was estimated to be 8 d,based on all the freshness ***,the shelf-life of the Japanese threadfin bream fillet was 5-7 d according to the microbial and chemical parameters,*** time for shrimp samples was 6-8 d using sensory score and TVB-N *** results of data-driven fuzzy approach showed all of the quality properties were considered as the'important'-'Very important'(defuzzification score>75).The TVB-N and PMCs were the most and weakest freshness quality properties(defuzzified-values:84.64 and 78.75,respectively).Based on FQDi,the shelf-life of the rainbow trout,Japanese threadfin bream,and shrimp samples were estimated to be 8,5,and 7 d,*** method was able to successfully provide a comprehensive deterioration index for evaluating the seafood *** a total index can be considered as a comprehensive output(y variable)to predict seafood freshness by rapid and nondestructive method.

Objectives:in recent years,there has been a substantial increase in the global consumption of honey,driven by the high demand for natural products that offer health ***,consumers show a preference for honey,recognised for its superior quality,namely honey with a Protected Designation of Origin(PDO)or honey produced in protected areas,as it is associated with superior attributes and *** is one of the leading countries in the production of PDO honey,with Montesinho Natural park(MNP)being an excellent example of high-quality Portuguese honey,known for its distinctive ***,environmental threats pose a double challenge,leading to a decline in honey production and compromising its overall *** study aimed to assess the specifc physicochemical parameters and nutritional characteristics of MNP honey and investigate their correlation with the different locations of *** and Methods:MNP honey samples(n=13)were obtained from local producers or purchased at *** physicochemical parameters,such as 5-hydroxymethylfurfural,diastase activity,moisture and ash content,free acidity,electrical conductivity and pH,were determined according to honey ***,colour parameters,protein,low-molecular-weight carbohydrates(monoand disaccharides),and mineral content were ***:The results obtained were consistent with the requirements outlined in the legislation and those described in the *** results suggest that geographical factors within the park and boundaries do not contribute to variations in the analysed ***:A signifcant level of homogeneity was evident in all parameters evaluated among the MNP honey *** is the frst comprehensive study of the physicochemical properties of honey from various apiaries within the MNP.

Transient numerical simulation of annealing process in a conjugate combined radiation conduction heat transfer

The annealing time is an important affecting factor in the performance of many *** present work deals with the transient simulation of annealing process in a cubic furnace in which a solid element is placed in its *** the working gas can have some radiating features,a set of governing equations including the energy balance with the radiative transfer equation(RTE)for the gray radiating medium and the conduction equation inside the solid product are numerically solved with progressing in *** results which are validated against both analytical and theoretical findings in the literature demonstrate that during the starting period,a high rate of radiant energy transfers into the solid body even at small optical *** behavior which hastens the rate of heat transfer at low values of the radiation conduction parameter,causes a fast annealing process in which the solid body warms up to its maximum ***,it is revealed that the rate of heat transfer is an increasing function of radiation-conduction parameter.

seismic performance and comparison of three different i beam to box column joints

Despite the inherently advantages of the box column, finding the best option for the i beam to the box column connection is the main challenge in using the box column as a structural member for special moment frames. in this paper, the seismic performance of urtreinforced connection, weakened connection and strengthened connection was evaluated through a comprehensive experimental program. The seismic comparisons were fabricated by assessing the strength, ductility and energy dissipation in each configuration. Three full scale tests with several connections were carried out. All the specimens were subjected to cyclic loading and prior to failure by forming a plastic hinge in the beam, all the connections managed to reach an inelastic rotation of more than 6.0% rad. The experimental and analytical results showed that the seismic performance of the strengthened connection with flange and shear plates turned out to be the most effective in the beam to the box column connection. Moreover, the normalized stress distribution of the continuity plates revealed that the possibility of the weld fracture in unreinforced connection is more than other specimens.
