Resilience, the 6th Vital Sign: Conceptualizing, Contextualizing, and Operationalizing All Six Vital Signs

There are five vital signs that healthcare providers assess: temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and pain. Normal levels for the five vital signs are published by the American Heart Association, and other specialty organizations, however, the sixth vital sign (resilience) which adopts the measure of immune resilience is suggested in this paper. Resilience is the ability of the immune system to respond to attacks and defend effectively against infections and inflammatory stressors, and psychological resilience is the capacity to resist, adapt, recover, thrive, and grow from a challenge or a stressor. Individuals with better optimal immune resilience had better health outcomes than those with minimal immune resilience. The purpose of this paper is to conceptualize, contextualize, and operationalize all six vital signs. We suggest measuring resilience subj.ctively and obj.ctively. Subj.ctively, use a 5-item guided interview revised from the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CDRC), a scale of 10 items. The revised CDRC scale is a 5-item scale. The scale is rated on a 5-point likert scale from 0 (not true) to 4 (true all the time). The total score ranges from 0 to 20, with higher total scores indicating greater resilience. The scale demonstrated good construct validity and internal consistency (α = 0.85) during the development of the scale. The CD-RISC had a good Cronbach’s alpha level of 0.85. The Revised CD-RISC can be completed in 2 - 4 minutes. To measure resilience obj.ctively, we suggest using Immune Resilience (IR) levels, the level of resilience to preserve and/or rapidly restore immune resilience functions that promote disease resistance and control inflammation and other inflammatory stress. IR levels are gauged with two peripheral blood metrics that quantify the balance between CD8 and CD4 T-cell levels and gene expression signatures tracking longevity-associated immunocompetence and mortality- or entropy-associated inflammation. 东北冷涡是东亚中高纬度地区的重要天气系统,其频繁活动能够导致明显的气温和降水异常,具有显著的“气候效应”。使用水平分辨率为2.5°´2.5°、时间分辨率为逐日的NCEP/NCAR(美国国家环境预报中心和国家大气研究中心)再分析资料,研究时段取1961–2010年。根据东北冷涡天气学定义,将符合下述条件的天气系统定义为一次冷涡天气过程:(1)在500 hpa等压面上至少能分析出一根闭合等高线,并有冷中心或明显冷槽配合的低压环流系统;(2)冷涡中心出现在(35°N–60°N,115°E–145°E)范围内;(3)冷涡在上述地区的生命史为3天或3天以上。考虑海河流域的地理位置,根据逐年东北冷涡低压中心在西涡范围(115°E–125°E)达到的最南位置,界定对初夏(6月,下同)海河流域降水有显著影响的东北冷涡活动关键区域(38°N–48°N,115°E–125°E),统计出冷涡中心频次标准化值,形成初夏东北冷涡指数数据集(1961–2010)。数据集包括:(1)初夏标准化东北冷涡活动指数;(2)逐年初夏东北冷涡500 hpa位势高度低压中心在115°E–125°E区域的最南位置。该数据集存储为1个Excel文件(.xlsx格式),数据量约12.5 KB。

The identification of j.ts originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATlAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATlAS *** taggers with high performances in rej.cting j.ts from gluon over j.ts from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the j.t,and the other combines several j.t substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the j.t *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for j.ts with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

An Analysis of the low Moving Speed of landfalling Typhoon In-Fa in 2021

The movement speed of Typhoon In-Fa(2021)was notably slow,at 10 km h-1or less,for over 20 hours following its landfall in Zhej.ang,China,in contrast to other typhoons that have made *** study examines the factors contributing to the slow movement of Typhoon In-Fa,including the steering flow,diabatic heating,vertical wind shear(VWS),and surface synoptic situation,by comparing it with Typhoons Yagi(2018)and Rumbia(2018)which followed similar *** findings reveal that the movement speed of Typhoons Yagi and Rumbia is most closely associated with their respective 500 h pa environmental winds,with a steering flow of 10^(-12)m s^(-1).In contrast,Typhoon InFa’s movement speed is most strongly correlated with the 850 h pa environmental wind field,with a steering flow speed of only 2 m s^(-1).Furthermore,as Typhoon In-Fa moves northwest after landfall,its intensity is slightly greater than that of Typhoons Yagi and Rumbia,and the pressure gradient in front of Typhoon In-Fa is notably smaller,leading to its slow ***,the precipitation distribution of Typhoon In-Fa differs from that of the other two typhoons,resulting in a weak asymmetry of wavenumber-1 diabatic heating,which indirectly affects its movement *** analysis indicates that VWS can alter the typhoon’s structure,weaken its intensity,and ultimately impact its movement.

社交媒体使用与青少年自杀风险的关联受到广泛关注。匹兹堡大学David教授领衔的团队在美国各地招募了60名青少年进行了为期8周的监测,通过每日3次生态瞬时评估询问青少年社交媒体使用相关的消极体验(如感到焦虑)、积极体验(如受到鼓励)及自杀意念,首次通过密集监测设计探讨青少年社交媒体体验与自杀意念间的关联,结果显示,频繁经历消极的社交媒体体验的青少年更可能报告自杀意念,而积极的社交媒体体验与自杀意念报告率降低有关。此外,未发现社交媒体的使用时间(视屏时间)与自杀意念间的显著关联。研究提示社交媒体经历可能是青少年自杀可修饰的风险因素,未来的研究应将增强青少年社交媒体的积极体验感作为改善青少年心理健康和预防自杀的目标,而不仅仅是限制视屏时间。

Mitogen-activated protein kinase （MAPK） and leucine-rich repeat receptor-like kinase （lRR-RlK） signaling pathways have been shown to regulate diverse aspects of plant growth and development. In Arabidopsis, proper anther development relies on intercellular communication to coordinate cell proliferation and differentiation. Two closely related genes encoding MAPKs, MPK3 and MPK6, function redundantly in regulating stomatal patterning. Although the mpk6 mutant has reduced fertility, the function of MPK3 and MPK6 in anther development has not been characterized. Similarly, the ERECTA （ER）, ERECTA-lIKE1 （ERl1） and ERl2 genes encoding lRR-RlKs function together to direct stomatal cell fate specification and the er-105 erll-2 erl2-1 triple mutant is sterile. Because the mpk3 rnpk6 double null mutant is embryo lethal, anther development was characterized in the viable mpk3/＋ mpk6/- and er-105 erll-2 erl2-1 mutants. We found that both mutant anthers usually fail to form one or more of the four anther lobes, with the er-105 erl1-2 erl2-1 triple mutant exhibiting more severe phenotypes than those of the mpk3/＋ mpk6/- mutant. The somatic cell layers of the differentiated mutant lobes appeared larger and more disorganized than that of wild-type. In addition, the er-105 erll-2 erl2ol triple mutant has a reduced number of stamens, the maj.rity of which possess completely undifferentiated or under-differentiated anthers. Furthermore, sometimes, the mpk3/＋ mpk6/- mutant anthers do not dehisce, and the er-105 erl1-2 erl2-1 anthers were not observed to dehisce. Therefore, our results indicate that both ER/ERl 1/ERl2 and MPK3/MPK6 play important roles in normal anther lobe formation and anther cell differentiation. The close functional relationship between these genes in other developmental processes and the similarities in anther developmental phenotypes of the two types of mutants reported here further suggest the possibility that these genes might also function in the same pathway

Tuberculosis Meningitis Associated with Poncet’s Disease: A Rare Case in a Young Senegalese patient

Described by Antonin Poncet in 1897, Poncet’s disease is a non-destructive (non-erosive) inflammatory arthritis secondary to a mycobacterial infection, without an identified infectious agent in the affected j.ints. Neuromeningeal localization of tuberculosis (TB) is rare but remains the most severe with hight mortality and permanent neurological damage. Association of Poncet’s rheumatism and TB is rare, even less a neuromeningeal localization. We report here a case of optic nerve compression syndrome complicating tuberculous meningitis associated with Poncet’s rheumatism characterized by a good outcome. This was an 18-year-old female with no reported pathological history, who was admitted for obnubilation. The symptoms started two weeks before her hospitalization and were marked by fever and headache. On admission, the examination revealed obnubilation, bilateral pyramidal deficit syndrome, right ptosis and areactive mydriasis predominating on the right, meningeal syndrome, and intense inflammatory polyarthralgia. The brain CT showed meningeal contrast enhancement with moderate dilatation of ventricles. GeneXpert MTB/rif in CSF was positive. Rheumatoid factors (latex and Waaler-Rose test) and anti-CCP antibodies were negative. Anti-nuclear, anti-native DNA and anti-NAS antibodies were negative. Ophthalmological examination revealed optic nerve compression syndrome associated with extrinsic and intrinsic oculomotor paralysis in the right eye. Orbito-encephalic MRI showed compression of the optic nerve, and hydrocephalus. Under antituberculosis treatment, we noticed disappearance of arthralgia in three weeks, regression of intracranial hypertension and improvement of vision.

Background:Adenosine triphosphatase inhibitory factor 1(IF1)is a key protein involved in energy ***1 has been linked to various agerelated diseases,although its relationship with physical activity(pa)remains ***,the apolipoprotein A-I(apoA-I),a pa-modulated lipoprotein,could play a role in this relationship because it shares a binding site with IF1 on the cell-surface ATP *** examined here the associations between chronic pa and plasma IF1 concentrations among older adults,and we investigated whether apoA-I mediated these ***:In the present work,1096 healthy adults(63.8%females)aged 70 years and over who were involved in the Multidomain Alzheimer Prevention Trial study were ***1 plasma concentrations(square root of ng/ml)were measured at the 1-year visit of the Multidomain Alzheimer Prevention Trial,while pa levels(square root of metabolic equivalent task min/week)were assessed using questionnaires administered each year from baseline to the 3-year *** linear regressions were performed to investigate the associations between the first-year mean pa levels and IF1 *** analyses were conducted to examine whether apoA-I mediated these *** linear regressions were carried out to investigate whether the 1-year visit IF1 concentrations predicted subsequent changes in ***:Multiple linear regressions indicated that first-year mean pa levels were positively associated with IF1 concentrations(B=0.021;SE=0.010;p=0.043).Mediation analyses revealed that about 37.7%of this relationship was mediated by apoA-I(B_(ab)=0.008;SE=0.004;p=0.023).longitudinal investigations demonstrated that higher concentrations of IF1 at the 1-year visit predicted a faster decline in pa levels over the subsequent 2 years(time×IF1:B=0.148;SE=0.066;p=0.025).Conclusion:This study demonstrates that regular pa is associated with plasma IF1 concentrations,and it suggests that apoA-I partly med
