A method for groundwater prospect zonation in data poor areas using remote sensing and GIs:a case study in Kalikavu Panchayath of Malappuram district,Kerala,India

The present study was an attempt to delineate potential groundwater zones in Kalikavu Panchayat of Malappuram district,Kerala,*** geo-spatial database on geomorphology,landuse,geology,slope and drainage network was generated in a geographic information system(GIs)environment from satellite data,survey of India topographic sheets and field *** understand the movement and occurrence of groundwater,the geology,geomorphology,structural set-up and recharging conditions have to be well *** the present study,the potential recharge areas are delineated in terms of geology,geomorphology,land use,slope,drainage pattern,*** thematic data generated were integrated using a heuristic method in the GIs domain to generate maps showing potential groundwater *** composite output map scores were reclassified into different zones using a decision *** final output map shows different zones of groundwater prospect,viz.,very good(15.57%of the area),good(43.74%),moderate(28.38%)and poor(12.31%).Geomorphic units such as valley plains,valley fills and alluvial terraces were identified as good to excellent prospect zones,while the gently sloping lateritic uplands were identified as good to moderate *** sloping hilly terrains underlain by hard rocks were identified as poor groundwater prospect zones.

A Novel Image Encryption Technique based on Inter block Difference

Data security plays a vital role in the current scenario due to the advanced and sophisticated data access techniques. Present development in data access is always a threat to data that are stored in electronic devices. Among all the forms of data, image is an important aspect that still needs methodologies to be stored securely. This work focuses on a novel technique to secure images using inter block difference and advanced encryption standard (AEs). The AEs algorithm is chosen for encryption since there is no prevalent attack that is successful in analyzing it. Instead of encrypting the entire image, only a part of the image is encrypted. The proposed work is found to reduce the encryption overhead in a significant way and at the same time preserves the safety of the image. It is also observed that the decryption is done in an efficient and time preserving manner.

Comparison of Phosphorus sorption by light-Weight Aggregates Produced in the United states

In this study, phosphorus(P) sorption of thirteen light-weight aggregates(lWAs) from UsA was compared during batch equilibrium experiments in order to identify those materials which had the highest P sorption capacity for further study. seven different levels of sorption activity were observed, which were broadly grouped into three categories—high performing, middle performing, and low performing aggregates. Chemical analysis of Ca, Al, Fe, and Mg was used to describe the differences between lWAs. There was a significant correlation between cation(especially Al, Ca, Fe, and Mg) content and P sorbed. langmuir isotherms were used to describe P sorption maximum and binding affinity for four of the top five performing lWAs, Universal, stalite "D", stalite "Mix", and *** fifth aggregate, lehigh, exhibited more complex sorption, and was better described by the Freundlich isotherm. Universal had a mean P sorption at the highest concentration of 824 mg kg-1, well above its calculated sorption maximum(702 mg kg-1), and also had the highest binding affinity(1.1 l mg-1). This experiment suggests that the top performing lWA(Universal) may perform poorly in column and field studies due to observed precipitates, which could degrade constructed wetland performance. Other lWAs may exhibit superior field performance due to their high calculated sorption maxima. In general, these results highlight the importance of batch experiments as a first step in identifying materials suitable for column and field experiments.

Influence of alloying elements on microstructure and microhardness of Mg-sn-Zn-based alloys

The phase evolution in （88%-91%）Mg-8%sn-l%Zn-X （X=A1, Mn and/or Ce） system was analyzed via CAlPHAD method and simulations were used in precise selection of the chemical composition. The influence of the addition of different alloying elements such as A1, Mn and Ce on the microstructure and microhardness of Mg-8%sn-l%Zn-based alloys was investigated. Combined addition of A1 and Mn shows features distinct from separate addition of A1 or Mn. Additions of l%AI and l%Mn to base alloy result in the formation of massive A1-Mn phase in a-Mg matrix grains. Addition of Ce element can refme the second eutectic precipitates and form intermetallic compounds with sn. Fine rod-like sn-Ce phase presents mainly on the grain boundaries and plays a role in inhibiting grain growth. The effects of alloying elements on Vickers microhardness and indentation size effect of base alloy were examined.

New geochemical data of the crater-facies Tokapal kimberlite system sandwiched between the lower and upper stratigraphic horizons of the Mesoproterozoic lndravati basin a：：e presented. The kimberlite has been subjected to extensive and pervasive low-temperature alteration. spinel is the only primary phase identifiable, while olivine macrocrysts and juvenile lapilli are largely pseudomorphed （talc-serpentine- carbonate alteration）. However, with the exception of the alkalies, major element oxides display systematic fractionation trends; likewise, HFsE patterns are well correlated and allow petrogenetic interpretation. Various crustal contamination indices such as （siO2 ＋ AI：：O3 ~ Na20）]（MgO ~ K20） and si] Mg are close to those of uncontaminated kimberlites. similar la]Yb （＇79-109） of the Tokapal samples with those from the kimberlites of Wajrakarur （73-145） and Narayanpet （72-156）, Eastern Dharwar craton, southern India implies a similarity in their genesis. In the discriminant plots involving HFsE the Tokapal samples display strong affinities to Group 1I kimberlites from southern Africa and central India as well as to ＇transitional kimberlites＇ from the Eastern Dharwar craton, southern India, and those from the Prieska and Kuruman provinces of southern Africa. There is a striking ~;imilarity in the depleted-mantle （TOM） Nd model ages of the Tokapal kimberlite system, bastar craton, th~ kimberlites from NKF and WKE Eastern Dharwar craton, and the Majhgawan diatreme, bundelkhand craton, with the emplacement age of some of the lamproites from within and around the Palaeo^Mesoproterozoic Cuddapah basin, southern India. These similar ages imply a major tectonomagmatic event, possibly related to the break- up of the supercontinent of Columbia, at 1.3-1.5 Ga across the l：hree cratons. strong enhancement on dye photocatalytic degradation by ball-milled TiO2:A study of cationic and anionic dyes

TiO2 particles with desirable properties were produced by undergoing specific durations of ball *** of the TiO2 particles before and after ball milling were investigated via X-ray diffraction（XRD）, brunauer-Emmett-Teller（bET）, particle size analysis, zeta potential, and scanning electron microscope（sEM）. The equilibrium adsorption data were well fitted to langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin-Radushkevich（D-R） isotherms. Compared to the as-received TiO2（mean particle size d150= 0.78μm, specific surface area = 88.17 m^2g-1, pore volume = 0.41 cm^3g-1）, the 60 min ballmilled TiO2（d50= 0.55 μm, specific surface area = 99.48 m2g-1, pore volume = 0.48 cm3g-1） enhanced the adsorption quantity of congo red and methylene blue from 10.4 mg g-1to 13.6 mg g-1, and from17.0 mg g-1to 22.2 mg g-1, respectively; and also improved the kinetic rates from k = 0.1325 to 0.2193, and k = 0.0944 to 0.1553, respectively. Dye adsorption and degradation efficiency of congo red was enhanced in acidic p H range（2–5.14）, and methylene blue was enhanced in alkaline p H range（7.58–12）.

In current days,the domain of Internet of Things(IoT)and Wireless sensor Networks(WsN)are combined for enhancing the sensor related data transmission in the forthcoming networking *** and routing techniques are treated as the effective methods highly used to attain reduced energy consumption and lengthen the lifetime of the WsN assisted IoT *** this view,this paper presents an Ensemble of Metaheuristic Optimization based Qos aware Clustering with Multihop Routing(EMOQosCMR)Protocol for IoT assisted *** proposed EMO-QosCMR protocol aims to achieve Qos parameters such as energy,throughput,delay,and *** proposed model involves two stage processes namely clustering and ***,the EMO-QosCMR protocol involves crossentropy rain optimization algorithm based clustering(CEROAC)technique to select an optimal set of cluster heads(CHs)and construct ***,oppositional chaos game optimization based routing(OCGOR)technique is employed for the optimal set of routes in the IoT assisted *** proposed model derives a fitness function based on the parameters involved in the IoT nodes such as residual energy,distance to sink node,*** proposed EMOQosCMR technique has resulted to an enhanced NAN of 64 nodes whereas the lEACH,PsO-ECHs,E-OEERP,and iCsHs methods have resulted in a lesser NAN of 2,10,42,and 51 *** performance of the presented protocol has been evaluated interms of energy efficiency and network lifetime.

Dengue virus non-structural 1 protein interacts with heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H in human monocytic cells

Objective: To study protein-protein interaction between heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H(hn RNP H) and Dengue virus(DENV) proteins. Methods: DENV proteins were screened against the host hn RNP H protein, in order to identify the host-viral protein-protein interactions in DENV infected THP-1 cells by co-immunoprecipitation. The co-localization of the interacting proteins was further confirmed by immunofluorescence microscopy. Results: The host protein hn RNP H was found to interact with DENV nonstructural 1 protein and help the virus to multiply in the cell. Conclusions: The non-structural 1 glycoprotein is a key modulator of host immune response and is also involved in viral replication. Therefore, disruption of this key interaction between hn RNP H and DENV nonstructural 1 could be an important therapeutic strategy for management of DENV infection.
