BACKGROUND Insulinomas are the most common type of functioning endocrine neoplasms of the pancreas pr.senting hypoglycemic *** characteristically develop symptoms while fasting,but some patients have reported symptoms only in the postpr.ndial *** and pr.longed hypoglycemic episodes can reduce the awareness of adrenergic symptoms,and patients may have amnesia,which delays *** SUMMARY We describe a case of a 24-year-old underweight patient who showed hypoglycemic symptoms for almost 6 *** patients with insulinoma characteristically develop symptoms while fasting,this young man had hypoglycemic symptoms up to one hour postpr.ndially,especially after highsugar meals and after physical *** fasting tests and imaging methods performed at local hospitals were evaluated as negative for abnormal ***,brown adipose tissue exhibited increased metabolic activity,and some muscle groups had histological changes as indicated by positron emission tomography with 2-deoxy-2-[fluorine-18]fluoro-D-glucose integrated with computed *** deficiency was also histologically *** patient’s symptoms pr.gressed over the years and occurred more frequently,i.e.,several times a month,and the patient had reduced awareness of adrenergic *** follow-up fasting test was positive,and the imaging results showed a tumor in the head of the *** patient underwent laparotomy with enucleation of the *** Weight gain and fasting hypoglycemia are not necessarily characteristics of *** pr.longed cases,adrenergic symptoms can be suppr.ssed.

On the basis of population balance a mathematical model is developed to describe the formation of polymer partlcle in styrene suspension polymerization. The characteristics of coalescence and breakage of droplets and the gel effect are analyzed in particular. Parameters of the models are esthnztted by experimental. on reaction conversion and particle size distributlon. The results show that the model is suitable for pr.dicting polymerization pr.cesses.

Bioinspired by the spinning of spider silks,the biomimetic pr.paration of elastomeric fibers with micro/nano structures on the surfaces was attempted,and as a result,three types of ultrafine fullvulcanized powdered nitrile-butadiene rubber(UFPNBR)/thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU) fibers were *** first fiber was only decorated by the micron-sized grooves on the surface,and the second fiber was dotted by both the micron-sized grooves and nanometer-sized spheres on the surface,while the third fiber was helical and with a concave-convex *** biomimetic pr.paration mainly consisted of four steps,and the formation mechanism was described as an integrated mechanism of diffusion,coagulation,self assembly,and microphase *** micro/nano structures on the fibers were controlled by changing the mass ratio of UFPNBR to TPU and environment of vertical *** UFPNBR/TPU elastomeric fibers were hoped to have an integrated function of superhydrophobicity,self cleaning,and mechanical impr.vement of toughness or strength.

The 3 mol% yttria stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals (3Y-TZP) powder had three particle size distributions, while the fine one was lower than 100 nm. The 3Y-TZP compact was pr.pared by dry-pr.ssing under pr.ssures ranged from 10 to 30 MPa and then pr.sintered at 1250 ℃ for 2 h. The matrix dry-pr.ssed under the pr.ssure of 20 MPa had a porosity of 16.7% and could be easily pr.cessed by computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (CAD/ CAM), and which had been infiltrated by the La2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 glass at 1200 ℃ for 4 h. The flexural strength and fracture toughness of the composite were 710.7 MPa and 6.51 MPa m1/2, respectively. The low shrinkage (0.3%) of the composite can satisfy the net-shape fabrication standard. XRD results illustrated that zirconia in the La2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 glass-infiltrated 3Y-TZP all-ceramic composite was mainly in the tetragonal phase. SEM and EDS results indicated that the pores of the matrix were almost filled by the La2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 glass.
