The global characteristics and trends of the tropopause physical parameters,height and temperature,obtained from the GPS/CHAMP radio occultation(RO) data in the period from Jul.2001 to Oct.2008,were modeled and analyzed in this *** global distribution and variation of these parameters with latitude were estimated and analyzed using the Empirical Orthogonal Function(EOF),which was introduced to reveal the possible relationship between the tropopause variations and global climate *** tropopause height and temperature varied with *** results obtained by using the Empirical Orthogonal Function analysis suggested a recent rise in tropopause height and decrease in tropopause temperature;and also partly supported the argument that the global rise in the tropopause is consistent with global climate *** results also revealed that the tropopause height increased mainly in the Polar regions,particularly in the South Polar region,as well as the regions where human activity is relatively significant,and decreased in the areas that are sparsely populated or have less human activity,such as the tropic region and south *** paper also confirms that the GPS/LEO RO data are more reliable and can be effectively used to analyze the tropopause physical parameters.

The first Chinese lunar orbiter Chang'E-1 is a successful mission with many fruitful results obtained in various disciplines. The scientific data acquired by the Chang'E-1 payloads can benefit studies of the lunar origin and evolution, as well as other relevant research areas, after careful validation of the data. Among the new results, the Chang'E-1 selenodetic products are continually uncovering characteristics of the lunar surface, undersurface and inner structure. Successful lunar orbiters such as the Clementine, Lunar Prospector, KAGUYA/SELENE, Chang'E-1, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and GRAIL have been revealing, with increasing clarity, global selenodetic characteristics with state-of-the-art fine resolution and high precision. In particular, the Chang'E-1 plays an important distinctive role in selenodetic exploration through enhancing lunar topography and gravity models. The gravity model has been successfully improved with a factor of two after applying the Chang'E-1 long-wavelength tracking data. Using the new models, some medium-scale lunar surface characteristics such as basins and volcanoes have been identified. Furthermore, the old mascon basins of Bouguer, gravity anomaly and craters have been discovered with the Chang'E-1 selenodetic data.

The planetary radio occultation technique is one of the earliest suggested and achieved methods to detect the planetary atmosphere,and has been conducted by almost every deep space planetary *** principles,modules,inversion results and primary analysis of the SHAO Planetary Occultation observation Processing system(SPOPs) are presented in this *** open-loop and closed-loop Doppler residual data of the Mars Express radio occultation experiment provided by ESA PSA and NASA PDS,the temperature,pressure,molecular number density profiles of Martian atmosphere and electron density profiles of the ionosphere are successfully retrieved,and the results are validated by the released radio science level 04 products of the ESA MaRS *** system can also process the atmosphere radio occultation observations of other planets and theirs natural *** implementation of the planetary radio occultation technique is of significance to China's YH-1 Mars exploration project,as well as for future planetary exploration missions from China.

More than 3 million range measurements from the Chang’E-1 Laser Altimeter have been used to produce a global topographic model of the Moon with improved accuracy. Our topographic model, a 360th degree and order spherical harmonic expansion of the lunar radii, is designated as Chang’E-1 Lunar Topography Model s01 (CLTM-s01). This topographic field, referenced to a mean radius of 1738 km, has an absolute vertical accuracy of approximately 31 m and a spatial resolution of 0.25° (～7.5 km). This new lunar topographic model has greatly improved previous models in spatial coverage, accuracy and spatial resolution, and also shows the polar regions with the altimeter results for the first time. From CLTM-s01, the mean, equatorial, and polar radii of the Moon are 1737103, 1737646, and 1735843 m, respectively. In the lunar-fixed coordinate system, this model shows a COM/COF offset to be (?1.777, ?0.730, 0.237) km along the x, y, and z directions, respectively. All the basic lunar shape parameters derived from CLTM-s01 are in agreement with the results of Clementine GLTM2, but CLTM-s01 offers higher accuracy and reliability due to its better global samplings.

Chinese lunar mission Chang＇E-3 is the latest in-situ explo- ration to the Moon after the Apollo and Luna missions fin- ished 40 years ago. It is composed of a lander and a rover （Yutu： named after the jade rabbit on the Moon in a Chinese fairy tale）. Yutu rover is equipped with several scientific instruments including a lunar penetrating radar （LPR）, whose measurement has never been carried out on a rover. After integrating the LPR data with other in-situ and geo- logical informations, Xiao et al. [1] discovered several sub- surface layers in northern Mare Imbrium.
