Underestimation of the Warming Trend over the Tibetan Plateau during 1998–2013 by Global Land Data Assimilation Systems and Atmospheric Reanalyses

Accurate surface air temperature(T2m)data are key to investigating eco-hydrological responses to global *** of sparse in-situ observations,T2m datasets from atmospheric reanalysis or multi-source observation-based land data assimilation system(LDAS)are widely used in research over alpine regions such as the Tibetan Plateau(TP).It has been found that the warming rate of T2m over the TP accelerates during the global warming slowdown period of 1998–2013,which raises the question of whether the reanalysis or LDAS datasets can capture the warming *** evaluating two global LDASs,five global atmospheric reanalysis datasets,and a high-resolution dynamical downscaling simulation driven by one of the global reanalysis,we demonstrate that the LDASs and reanalysis datasets underestimate the warming trend over the TP by 27%–86%during 1998–*** is mainly caused by the underestimations of the increasing trends of surface downward radiation and nighttime total cloud amount over the southern and northern TP,*** GLDAS2.0,ERA5,and MERRA2 reduce biases of T2m simulation from their previous versions by 12%–94%,they do not show significant improvements in capturing the warming *** WRF dynamical downscaling dataset driven by ERA-Interim shows a great improvement,as it corrects the cooling trend in ERA-Interim to an observation-like warming trend over the southern *** results indicate that more efforts are needed to reasonably simulate the warming features over the TP during the global warming slowdown period,and the WRF dynamical downscaling dataset provides more accurate T2m estimations than its driven global reanalysis dataset ERA-Interim for producing LDAS products over the TP.

Hazard prediction of coal and gas outburst based on the Hamming distance artificial intelligence algorithm (HDAIA)

Currently,coal mining faces the uncertainty of the risk of coal and gas outbursts and inaccurate prediction *** to this,an artificial immune algorithm(AIA)was developed for coal and gas outburst prediction based on the Hamming distance(HD)calculation method of antibody and antigen affinity called the Hamming distance artificial intelligence algorithm(HDAIA).The correlation matrix of coal and gas outburst indicators was constructed using the interpolation function in the *** HD algorithm was used to obtain the affinity between the antibody and antigen,and the minimum HD was screened to obtain the prediction *** collected dynamic data of the drilling cuttings gas desorption index Ki and the drilling cuttings weight S during the excavation process of the 11,192-working face of a coal mine in Guizhou Province,China,were used as prediction *** results indicate that the prediction result of the HDAIA for the risk of coal and gas outbursts is consistent with the actual risk of outbursts,and it has a good prediction of the risk of coal and gas *** HDAIA can be used as a novel method for predicting the risk of coal and gas outbursts.

In-situ powder mixing for laser-based directed energy deposition of functionally graded materials

The mixing of powders is a highly relevant field under additive manufacturing,however,it has attracted limited interest to *** in-situ mixing of various powders remains a significant *** paper proposes a new method utilizing a static mixer for the in-situ mixing of multiple powders through the laser-based directed energy deposition(DED)of functionally graded ***,a powder-mixing experimental platform was established;WC and 316L powders were selected for the mixing ***,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectroscopy,and image processing were used to visually evaluate the homogeneity and proportion of the in-situ mixed ***,powder-mixing simulations were conducted to determine the powder-mixing *** the simulations,a powder carrier gas flow field and particle mixing were ***,a WC/316L metal matrix composite sample was produced using laser-based DED to verify the application potential of the static *** was found that the static mixer could adjust the powder ratio online,and a response time of 1–2 s should be considered when adjusting the ratio of the mixed powder.A feasible approach for in-situ powder mixing for laser-based DED was demonstrated and investigated,creating the basis for functionally graded materials.

Analysis on phase selection and microstructure evolution in directionally solidified Zn-Al-Mg-Ce alloy

In the process of hot-dip Zn-Al-Mg alloy coating,the plating solution dissipates heat in the direction perpendicular to the steel plate,which is considered to be a process of directional *** understand the relationship between microstructure and cooling rate of Zn-Al-Mg alloys,both the phase constitution and microstructure characteristic length scales of Zn-9.5Al-3Mg-0.01Ce(wt.%)alloy were investigated by the directional solidification experiments at different growth velocities(V=40,80,160,250μm·s^(-1)).The experimental results show that the microstructure of directionally solidified Zn-9.5Al-3Mg-0.01Ce alloy is composed of primary Al dendrites and(Zn-Al-Mg2Zn11)ternary eutectics at the growth velocities ranging from 40 to 250μm·s^(-1).The primary Al dendrites are aligned regularly along the growth direction,accompanied with obvious secondary *** relationship between the microstructure length scale and the thermal parameters of solidification is obtained:λ1=374.66V-0.383,andλ2=167.5V-0.563(λ1is the primary dendrite arm spacing,andλ2 is the secondary dendrit arm spacing).In addition,through the interface response function(IRF)and the nucleation and constitutional undercooling(NCU),the phase selection of Zn-9.5Al-3Mg-0.01Ce is obtained:(Zn+Al+Mg2Zn11)ternary eutectics in the Zn-9.5Al-3Mg-0.01Ce alloy will be replaced by ternary eutectics(Zn+Al+MgZn2)when the growth rate is lower than 7.53μm·s^(-1).

Trace amounts of antibiotic altered metabolomic and microbial profiles of weaned pigs infected with a pathogenic ***

Background:Our previous study has shown that supplementation of trace amounts of antibiotic exacerbated the detrimental effects of enterotoxigenic ***(ETEC)infection and delayed the recovery of pigs that may be associated with modified metabolites and metabolic ***,the objective of this study was to explore the impacts of trace levels of antibiotic(carbadox)on host metabolic profiles and colon microbiota of weaned pigs experimentally infected with ETEC ***:The multivariate analysis highlighted a distinct metabolomic profile of serum and colon digesta between trace amounts of antibiotic(TRA;0.5 mg/kg carbadox)and label-recommended dose antibiotic(REC;50 mg/kg carbadox)on d 5 post-inoculation(PI).The relative abundance of metabolomic markers of amino acids,carbohydrates,and purine metabolism were significantly differentiated between the TRA and REC groups(q<0.2).In addition,pigs in REC group had the highest(P<0.05)relative abundance of Lactobacillaceae and tended to have increased(P<0.10)relative abundance of Lachnospiraceae in the colon digesta on d 5 *** d 11 PI,pigs in REC had greater(P<0.05)relative abundance of Clostridiaceae compared with other groups,whereas had reduced(P<0.05)relative abundance of Prevotellaceae than pigs in control ***:Trace amounts of antibiotic resulted in differential metabolites and metabolic pathways that may be associated with its slow responses against ETEC F18 *** altered gut microbiota profiles by labelrecommended dose antibiotic may contribute to the promotion of disease resistance in weaned pigs.

Effects of cooling rate on microstructure and microhardness of directionally solidified Galvalume alloy

The influences of cooling rate on the phase constitution,microstructural length scale,and microhardness of directionally solidified Galvalume(Zn-55Al-1.6Si)alloy were investigated by directional solidification experiments at different withdrawal speeds(5,10,20,50,100,200,and 400μm·s^(-1)).The results show that the microstructure of directionally solidified Galvalume alloys is composed of primary Al dendrites,Si-rich phase and(Zn-Al-Si)ternary eutectics at the withdrawal speed ranging from 5 to 400μm·s^(-1).As the withdrawal speed increases,the segregation of Si element intensifies,resulting in an increase in the area fraction of the Si-rich *** addition,the primary Al dendrites show significant refinement with an increase in the withdrawal *** relationship between the primary dendrite arm spacing(λ_(1))and the thermal parameters of solidification is obtained:λ_(1)=127.3V^(-0.31).Moreover,as the withdrawal speed increases from 5 to 400μm·s^(-1),the microhardness of the alloy increases from 90 HV to 151 *** is a combined effect of grain refinement and second-phase strengthening.
