The ver.ically aligned one-dimensional(1 D)cor.-shell str.ctur. can maximize the exposur. and use of the functionally active sur.ace while maintaining the geometr.c effects caused by the under.ying ***,we have fabr.cated 1 D ver.ically aligned ZnO/V2O5 cor.-shell heter.-nanostr.ctur. nanor.d ar.ays(Nr.)for.photoelectr.chemical(PEC)water.***/V2O5 Nr. wer. pr.par.d thr.ugh the hydr.ther.al gr.wing of ZnO Nr. and then r.dio fr.quency(r.)magnetr.n sputter.ng deposition of V2O5 for.300,600 and 900 *** photocur.ent density of ZnO/V2O5-based photoanodes was gr.dually incr.ased with the sputter.ng time,r.aching the maximum value of 1.21 m A/cm^2 at 1.23 V *** hydr.gen electr.de(r.E)for.ZnO/V2O5-600,wher.as for.pur. ZnO-based photoanode was 0.42 mA/cm^*** incident photon to electr.n conver.ion efficiency(IPCE)of ZnO/V2O5-600 evaluated to be 82.3%which was 2.3 times higher.than that of ZnO(36.4%).The impr.ved PEC per.or.ance of ZnO/V2O5-600 is because the cor.-shell str.ctur. with a moder.te thickness of the V2O5 layer.has the extr.mely high car.ier.density,lar.est electr.chemically active sur.ace ar.a(ECSA),lar.est car.ier.density,lowest char.e r.combination r.te,and the longest lifetime of e-h pair. due to the for.ation of the stagger.d gap *** study pr.vides an effective way to design and fabr.cation of heter.-nanostr.ctur.s for.highefficiency photoelectr.des.

A simple, efficient, and envir.nmentally benign method for.the synthesis of 4H-chr.mene der.vatives was developed using well or.er.d and r.cover.ble amino functionalized silica gel as a base catalyst. The 4H-chr.mene der.vatives wer. obtained in shor. time and excellent yield （87%-96%） by thr.e component r.action of aldehydes, malononitr.le and cyclic 1,3-diketones in water.at 70 ℃.

High-Pr.ssur. Nitr.des and Micr.diamonds fr.m Tibetan Ophiolite

The samples of micr.diamond as an inclusion of Os Ir.alloy, coesite, stishovite, high pr.ssur. for. of Tio2, high pr.ssur. nitr.des associated with SiC along with bor.n car.ide, have been r.por.ed in the past fr.m the placer.deposits of Luobasa ophiolite of Yar.ung Zangbo r.gion of Tibet. For.the for.ation of these ultr. high findings, pr.ssur. in the r.nge of 4 to 9 Gpa and temper.tur. in the r.nge of 700° C - 1300° C is r.quir.d. Thus these miner.ls can either.be incor.or.ted into the chr.mitite in the deep upper.mantle or.they have an impact or.gin. In absence of impact cr.ter. Pr.f. Fang and other. have favor.d the mantle or.gin but for.the for.ation of nitr.des in the deep mantle, the sour.e of N is not clear. However. the event of comet impact pr.vides better.explanation for.the for.ation pr.cess. It also simplifies the explanation of coexistence of most of these miner.ls in a single cr.stal with the shallow or.gin and the per.ect pr.ser.ation of the coesite as consequence of r.pid cooling after.the shock metamor.hism.

Enhanced acetone sensing per.or.ance of nanostr.ctur.d Sm2O3 doped SnO2 thick films

In the pr.sent wor., we synthesized Sm2O3 doped SnO2 in or.er.to pr.par. a selective acetone sensor.with fast r.sponse, quick r.cover. and good r.peatability. Pur. as well as 2 mol.%, 4 mol.%, 6 mol.% and 8 mol.% Sm2O3 doped SnO2 nanostr.ctur.d samples wer. synthesized by using a co-pr.cipitation method. The char.cter.zation of the samples was done by ther.ogr.vimetr.c and differ.ntial ther.o-gr.vimetr.c analysis（TG-DTA）, X-r.y diffr.ction（Xr.）, field emission gun-scanning electr.n micr.scopy（FEG-SEM）, ener.y disper.ive analysis by X-r.ys（EDAX）, high r.solution scanning electr.n micr.scopy（Hr.TEM）, selected ar.a X-r.y diffr.ction（SAED）, Br.nauer.Emmet-Teller.BET） and ultr.violet-visible-near.infr.r.d（UV-Vis-NIr. spectr.scopy techniques. The gas r.sponse studies of liquid petr.leum gas, ammonia, ethanol and acetone vapor.wer. car.ied out. The r.sults showed that Sm doping systematically lower.d oper.ting temper.tur. and enhanced the gas r.sponse and selectivity for.acetone. The r.sponse and r.cover. time for.6 mol.% Sm2O3 doped SnO2 thick film at the oper.ting temper.tur. of 250 °C wer. 15 and 24 s, r.spectively.
