We have recently read with interest the mini-review article"Therapeutic endoscopy for the treatment of post-bariatric surgery complications".The abovementioned article is a brief overview of the different endoscopic modalities employed in the management of bariatric surgery complications and represents an important decision support tool for clinicians to improve their current *** we appreciate the endeavor of Larsen and Kozarek,based on our indepth analysis,we came across several minor issues in this article;thus,we present our comments in this *** case the authors contemplate these comments in their relevant research,we believe that their contribution would be considerable for future studies.

We propose the usage of formal languages for expressing instances of NP-complete problems for their application in polynomial transformations. The proposed approach, which consists of using formal language theory for polynomial transformations, is more robust, more practical, and faster to apply to real problems than the theory of polynomial transformations. In this paper we propose a methodology for transforming instances between NP-complete problems, which differs from Garey and Johnson's. Unlike most transformations which are used for proving that a problem is NP-complete based on the NP-completeness of another problem, the proposed approach is intended for extrapolating some known characteristics, phenomena, or behaviors from a problem A to another problem B. This extrapolation could be useful for predicting the performance of an algorithm for solving B based on its known performance for problem A, or for taking an algorithm that solves A and adapting it to solve B.

Agriculture practices have been widely proposed as the major cause of amphibian population decline. However, the majority of these results have been based on laboratory experiments. The present study was conducted to test the repercussion of wetland sediment provenance on amphibian larval *** bufo larvae were used in two dif ferent treatments in an outdoor experiment, the ?rst one using sediment from one wetland surrounded by intensive agricultural practices, and the second using sediment with no record of agrochemical uses. A negative ef fect was observed in the agricultural treatment, from subcellular to individual level. The results showed that the sediment from agricultural practices watershed generates a reduction in survival. Furthermore, individuals that developed under this treatment showed a lower total length and a delay in the time necessary to complete metamorphosis; these features are connected with recruitment success. In the same way, biochemical analysis showed high values of lipid peroxidation in metamorphs developing in sediments from an agricultural area. Finally, the results obtained highlight the importance of considering the sediments, not only the water, as origin treatment, allowing us to understand the consequences on amphibian populations that inhabit areas af fected by intensive agriculture.

Freshwater planorbid mollusks belonging to the genus Biomphalaria act as intermediate hosts for Schistosoma mansoni, the etiological agent of human intestinal schistosomiasis, in the Neotropical Region. Identification ofBiomphalaria spp. are carried out based on morphological characters, and the Schistosoma infection are determined by the presence of cercariae （verified through microscope preparation and mounting）. Recently, the geometric morphometrics has proven to be a useful tool for determining shape differences in disease vectors arthropods. Due to this, we used geometric morphometrics to determine Biomphalaria glabrata shell differences （shape and size） between uninfected and infected specimens. We digitalized 12 anatomical points over the shell left side （from umbilicus to the last whorl） by combining type I and II landmarks and sliding semilandmarks; the coordinates were aligned by generalized Procrustes analysis. Principal component analyses were implemented for examining main variation axes, and discriminant analysis for testing group membership significance. We found significant separation between infected and uninfected shell conformation. All specimens were 100% correctly classified. The main differences occur in the peristome. The Kruskal-Wallis test finds significant differences in shell isometric size among infected and uninfected specimens. These findings correspond to other studies of traditional morphometrics, that infected snails showed the reduction in shell size in contrast to those uninfected specimens

Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a chronic disease that requires chronic treatment throughout the evolution of the disease,with a complex physiopathology that entails great challenges for the development of new and specific treatments for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's *** anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha therapy has impacted the clinical course of IBD in those patients who do not respond to conventional treatment,so there is a need to develop new therapies and markers of treatment *** pathways involved in the development of the disease are known and the new therapies have focused on blocking the inflammatory process at the gastrointestinal level by oral,intravenous,subcutaneous,and topical *** these new therapies can lead to more personalized treatments with higher success rates and fewer *** treatments have not only focused on clinical remission,but also on achieving macroscopic changes at the endoscopic level and microscopic changes by achieving mucosal *** treatments are mainly based on modifying signaling pathways,by blocking receptors or ligands,reducing cell migration and maintaining the integrity of the epithelial ***,this review presents the efficacy and safety of the new treatments that are currently under study and the advances that have been made in this area in recent years.

As the world becomes ever more connected,the chance of pandemics increases as *** recent CoVID-19 pandemic and the concurrent global mass vaccine roll-out provides an ideal setting to learn from and refine our understanding of infectious disease models for better future *** this review,we systematically analyze and categorize mathematical models that have been developed to design optimal vaccine prioritization strategies of an initially limited *** older individuals are disproportionately affected by CoVID-19,the focus is on models that take age explicitly into *** lower mobility and activity level of older individuals gives rise to non-trivial *** research questions concern the optimal time interval between vaccine doses and spatial vaccine *** review showcases the effect of various modeling assumptions on model outcomes.A solid understanding of these relationships yields better infectious disease models and thus public health decisions during the next pandemic.
