Improved Weighted Local Contrast Method for Infrared Small Target Detection

In order to address the problem of high false alarm rate and low probabilities of infrared small target detection in complex low-altitude background,an infrared small target detection method based on improved weighted local contrast is proposed in this paper.First,the ratio information between the target and local background is utilized as an enhancement factor.The local contrast is calculated by incorporating the heterogeneity between the target and local background.Then,a local product weighted method is designed based on the spatial dissimilarity between target and background to further enhance target while suppressing background.Finally,the location of target is obtained by adaptive threshold segmentation.As experimental results demonstrate,the method shows superior performance in several evaluation metrics compared with six existing algorithms on different datasets containing targets such as unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV).

With many merits such as facile synthesis,economy,and relatively high theoretical capacity,Prussian blue analogs(PBAs)are considered promising cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).However,their practical applications still suffer from a low actual specific capacity and inferior stability owing to the imperfect crystallinity,irreversible phase transition,and low intrinsic conductivity.Herein,a surface-modification technique for vapor-phase molecular self-assembly was developed to prepare Fe-based PBAs,specifically sodium iron hexacyanoferrate(NaFeHCF),with a uniform conductive polymer protective layer of polypyrrole(PPy)on the surface,resulting in NaFeHCF@PPy.The incorporation of a PPy protective layer not only improves the electronic conductivity of NaFeHCF@PPy,but also effectively mitigates the dissolution of Fe-ions during cycling.Specifically,this advanced vapor-phase technique avoids Fe^(2+)oxidation and Na^(+)loss during liquid-phase surface modification.The NaFeHCF@PPy exhibited a remarkably enhanced cycling performance,with capacity retentions of 85.6%and 69.1%over 500 and 1000 cycles,respectively,at 200 mA/g,along with a superior rate performance up to 5 A/g(fast kinetics).Additionally,by adopting this strategy for Mn-based PBAs(NaMnHCF@PPy),we further demonstrated the universality of this method for PBA cathodes in SIBs.

Afforestation has an important role in biodiversity conservation and ecosystem function improvement.A meta-analysis was carried out in China,which has the largest plantation area globally,to quantify the effects of plantings on soil microbial diversity.The results showed that the overall effect of afforestation on soil microbial diversity was positive across the country.Random forest algorithm suggested that soil carbon was the most important factor regulating microbial diversity and the positive response was only found with new plantings on low-carbon bare lands but not on high-carbon farmlands and grasslands.In addition,afforestation with broadleaved species increased microbial diversity,whereas planting with conifers had no effect on microbial diversity.This study clarified the effects of plantings on soil microbial diversity,which has an important implication for establishing appropriate policies and practices to improve the multiple functionalities(e.g.,biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation)during plantation establishment.

Kerogen types exert a decisive effect on the onset and capacity of hydrocarbon generation of source rocks.Lacustrine source rocks in the Liaohe Western Depression are characterized by thick deposition,high total organic carbon(TOC)content,various kerogen types,and a wide range of thermal maturity.Consequently,their hydrocarbon generation potential and resource estimation can be misinterpreted.In this study,geochemical tests,numerical analysis,hydrocarbon generation kinetics,and basin modeling were integrated to investigate the differential effects of kerogen types on the hydrocarbon generation potential of lacustrine source rocks.Optimized hydrocarbon generation and expulsion(HGE)models of different kerogen types were established quantitatively upon abundant Rock-Eval/TOC/vitrinite reflectance(R_(o))datasets.Three sets of good-excellent source rocks deposited in the fourth(Es4),third(Es3),and first(Es1)members of Paleogene Shahejie Formation,are predominantly types I-II_(1),II_(1)-II_(2),and II-III,respectively.The activation energy of types I-II_(2)kerogen is concentrated(180-230 kcal/mol),whereas that of type III kerogen is widely distributed(150-280 kcal/mol).The original hydrocarbon generation potentials of types I,II_(1),II_(2),and III kerogens are 790,510,270,and 85 mg/g TOC,respectively.The Ro values of the hydrocarbon generation threshold for type I-III source rocks gradually increase from 0.42%to 0.74%,and Ro values of the hydrocarbon expulsion threshold increase from 0.49%to 0.87%.Types I and II_(1)source rocks are characterized by earlier hydrocarbon generation,more rapid hydrocarbon expulsion,and narrower hydrocarbon generation windows than types II_(2)and III source rocks.The kerogen types also affect the HGE history and resource potential.Three types(conventional,tight,and shale oil/gas)and three levels(realistic,expected,and prospective)of hydrocarbon resources of different members in the Liaohe Western Depression are evaluated.Findings suggest that the Es3 member has considerable conventional and

Introduction:The Shengxian decoction(SXT),a Chinese herbal medication used to treat heart failure,is composed of Astragali Radix,Anemarrhenae Rhizoma,Bupleuri Radix,Cimicifuage Rhizoma,and Platycodonis Radix.Knowledge of the excretion of the active compounds in this herbal medication is vital for investigating the underlying mechanisms behind its compatibility.However,this remains unclear.Methods:Liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry was performed in both positive and negative modes to assay 18 constituents of SXT from rat urinary,fecal,and biliary samples.Results:The methodology was validated and showed good linearity(r≥0.9),precision,stability,repeatability,and recovery.The relative standard deviations and relative errors for the precision and accuracy did not exceed 15%.The recoveries of all the compounds ranged from 77.37%to 114.82%,and the matrix effect was between 82.53%and 105.71%.The results suggested that,when combined with Platycodonis Radix,the levels of 14 constituents from the four herbs were reduced in the urine,while the levels of six constituents were reduced in the feces.Conclusions:The comparative excretion results indicated that Platycodonis Radix reduced the excretion of compounds in SXT,demonstrating the compatibility mechanism and holistic properties of these compounds,favoring the pharmacological effects of SXT.

Cholesterol is an important component of plasma membranes and participates in many basic life functions,such as the maintenance of cell membrane stability,the synthesis of steroid hormones,and myelination.Cholesterol plays a key role in the establishment and maintenance of the central nervous system.The brain contains 20%of the whole body’s cholesterol,80%of which is located within myelin.A huge number of processes(e.g.,the sterol regulatory element-binding protein pathway and liver X receptor pathway)participate in the regulation of cholesterol metabolism in the brain via mechanisms that include cholesterol biosynthesis,intracellular transport,and efflux.Certain brain injuries or diseases involving crosstalk among the processes above can affect normal cholesterol metabolism to induce detrimental consequences.Therefore,we hypothesized that cholesterol-related molecules and pathways can serve as therapeutic targets for central nervous system diseases.Intracerebral hemorrhage is the most severe hemorrhagic stroke subtype,with high mortality and morbidity.Historical cholesterol levels are associated with the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage.Moreover,secondary pathological changes after intracerebral hemorrhage are associated with cholesterol metabolism dysregulation,such as neuroinflammation,demyelination,and multiple types of programmed cell death.Intracellular cholesterol accumulation in the brain has been found after intracerebral hemorrhage.In this paper,we review normal cholesterol metabolism in the central nervous system,the mechanisms known to participate in the disturbance of cholesterol metabolism after intracerebral hemorrhage,and the links between cholesterol metabolism and cell death.We also review several possible and constructive therapeutic targets identified based on cholesterol metabolism to provide cholesterol-based perspectives and a reference for those interested in the treatment of intracerebral hemorrhage.

AS with the continuous advancement of the low-carbon energy development, the wind power generation experiences fast growth with 441.3 GW installed capacity by Dec. 2023. The high penetration of renewable energy,together with high penetration of power electronic equipment (namely,“double high”),has been altering the steady-state and transient characteristics of wind power generation in a profound way,resulting in the different risk of instability.These stability issues will seriously affect the consumption of renewable energy and threaten the safe supply of electricity.Along with rapid deployment of wind power generation,together with the solar photovoltaic generation,it is expected to be over 1200 GW by 2030.

Near-infrared(NIR)phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes/laser diodes(LEDs/LDs)are prospective lighting sources for NIR spectroscopy.However,developing NIR phosphor materials with desired thermal robustness and high photoelectric efficiency is a crucial challenge for their applications.In this work,based on the cationic radius matching effect,a series of(Lu,Y)_(3)(Al,Sc,Cr)_(2)Al_(3)O_(12)NIR phosphor ceramics(LuYScCr NIR-PCs)were fabricated by vacuum sintering.Excellent thermal stability(95%@150℃)was obtained in the prepared NIR-PCs,owing to their weak electron-phonon coupling effect(small Huang-Rhys factor).Being excited at 460 nm,NIR-PCs realized a broadband emission(650-850 nm)with internal quantum efficiency(IQE)of 60.68%.Combining NIR-PCs with LED/LD chips,the maximum output power of the encapsulated LED prototype was 447 mW@300 mA with photoelectric efficiency of as high as 18.6%@180 mA,and the maximum output power of the LD prototype was 814 mW@2.5 A.The working temperatures of NIR-PCs were 70.8℃@300 mA(LED)and 102.8℃@3 A(LD).Finally,the prepared NIR-PCs applied in food detection were verified in this study,demonstrating their anticipated application prospects in the future.
