Coronaviruses RNA interacts with host miR-500a-5p and miR-501-5p to regulate multiple pathways

The Coronavirus disease is the contagious disease. Clinical manifests vary from no symptoms, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, and even severe acute respiratory distress syndrome and multiple organs failure. Recently, three of new beta-coronaviruses have emerged to cause serious and widespread illness and death, such as the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronaviruses (SARS-CoV), Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronaviruses (MERS-CoV), and 2019-nCoV (the causative pathogen of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The COVID-19 is continuing to spread globally. However, the detailed molecular mechanisms have not yet been fully clarified. Since the similarity of the pathological features among 2019-nCoV, SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, we could speculate the biological features of current COVID-19 by researching those of MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV. Therefore, we analyzed expression levels of miRNA and mRNA profiles of MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV and 2019-nCoV from five public GEO datasets (Table S1). As a result, we found 16 miRNAs potentially target a group of hub genes clustering together to tune the immune response. Notably, viral RNAs have the ability to sponge miR-500a-5p and miR-501-5p, indicating viral RNAs sequestering these two miRNAs to trigger genes expression and contribute to pathogenesis. We hope this study will pave the way to better understand 2019-nCoV pathogenesis and develop the innovative therapeutics.

Modified laparoscopic Sugarbaker repair of parastomal hernia with a three-point anchoring technique

AIMTo retrospectively evaluate the safety and feasibility of a new modified laparoscopic Sugarbaker repair in patients with parastomal *** retrospective study was performed to analyze eight patients who underwent parastomal hernia repair between June 2016 and January 2018. All of these patients received modified laparoscopic Sugarbakerhernia repair treatment. This modifed technique included an innovative three-point anchoring and complete su-turing technique to fix the mesh. All procedures were performed by a skilled hernia surgeon. Demographic data and perioperative outcomes were collected to eva-luate the safety and effcacy of this modifed *** these eight patients, two had concomitant incisional hernias. All the hernias were repaired by the modifed laparoscopic Sugarbaker technique with no conversion to laparotomy. Three patients had in-situ reconstruc-tion of intestinal stoma. The median mesh size was 300 cm2, and the mean operative time was 205.6 min. The mean postoperative hospitalization time was 10.4 d, with a median pain score of 1 （visual analog scale method） at postoperative day 1. Two patientsdeveloped postoperative complications. One patient had a pocket of effusion surrounding the biologic mesh, and one patient experienced an infection around the reconstructed stoma. Both patients recovered after conservative management. There was no recurrence during the follow-up period （6-22 mo, average 13 mo）.CONCLUSIONThe modifed laparoscopic Sugarbaker repair could fx the mesh reliably with mild postoperative pain and a low recurrence rate. The technique is safe and feasible for parastomal hernias.

Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Undular Tidal Bores in the Qiantang River Based on Field Observations

Understanding the undular tidal bores in the Qiantang River is essential for effective river management and *** breaking tidal bores have been studied extensively, reports on undular tidal bores in the Qiantang Riverremain limited. Furthermore, observed data on undular tidal bores fulfilling the requirements of short measurementtime intervals, and spring, medium, and neap tide coverage, and providing detailed data for the global vertical stratificationof flow velocity are quite limited. Based on field observations at Qige in the Qiantang estuary, we analyzedthe characteristics of undular tidal bores. The results showed that the flooding amplitude (a) of the first wave isalways larger than its ebbing amplitude (b). Moreover, the vertical distribution of the maximum flood velocity exhibitesthree shapes, influenced by the tidal range, while that of the maximum ebb velocity exhibites a single shape. Duringthe initial phase of the flood tide in the spring and medium tides, the upper water body experiences multiple oscillatingchanges along the flow direction, corresponding to the alternating process of the crest and trough of the tide levelupon the arrival of the tidal bore. The tidal range is a crucial parameter in tidal bore hydrodynamics. By establishingthe relationship between hydrodynamic parameters and tidal range, other hydrodynamic parameters, such as the tidalbore height, maximum flood depth–averaged velocity, maximum flood stratified velocity at the measurement points,and duration of the flood tide current, can be effectively predicted, thereby providing an important reference for rivermanagement and maintenance.

Based on grow tree composite model, Finite Field Wavelet Grow Tree (FW-GT) was proposed in this paper. FW-GT is a novel framework to be used in data encryption enhancing data security. It is implemented by replacement operator and wavelet operator. Forward integration and inverse decomposition of FW-GT are performed by replacement, inverse wavelets and its corresponding replacement, wavelet transforms. Replacement operator joined nonlinear factor, wavelet operator completed data transformation between lower dimensional space and higher dimensional space. FW-GT security relies on the difficulty of solving nonlinear equations over finite fields. By using FW-GT, high security of data could be obtained at the cost of low computational complexity. It proved FW-GT algorithm’s correctness in this paper. The experimental result and theory analysis shows the excellent performance of the algorithm.

The design and synthesis of organic high-temperature reversible thermochromic materials is one of the difficult issues in the field of organic chromic *** this paper,four diacetylene monomers named DBA-PCDA,TBA-PCDA,DBE-PCDA and TBE-PCDA,each containing multiple diacetylene units,were synthesized from 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid(PCDA)through the amidation or esterification reactions,using 4,4'-diaminobiphenyl,1,3,5-tris(4-aminophenyl)benzene,4,4'-dihydroxybiphenyl,and 1,3,5-tris(4-hydroxyphenyl)benzene as bridging *** effects of functional groups that can form hydrogen bond andπ-πinteractions on the solid-state polymerization properties of monomers and the thermochromic properties of the corresponding PDAs were *** results show that only DBA-PCDA and TBAPCDA,which contain functional groups that can form hydrogen bonding interactions,can be polymerized under 254-nm UV *** corresponding poly(DBA-PCDA)exhibits reversible thermochromic property even heated up to 200℃,showing a potential application in the field of high-temperature thermal indicator above 100℃.This work provides a new perspective to the development of PDA with high-temperature reversible thermochromic property.

Objective To study the use of Chinese medicine(CM)in cancer patients in southern *** A total of 1,950 cancer patients finished questionnaires in four provinces in southern *** survey included socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of participants,dosage forms,efficacy,and side *** The study results showed that cancer patients with higher education(>12 years)were more likely to accept the treatment of Chinese *** were 54.61%(1,065 cases)of patients chose Chinese herbs for the initial treatment and 14.46%(282 cases)chose Chinese herbs as *** patients(54.51%,1,063 cases)continuously used CM for more than 6 months,and a few of them(212 cases)used CM for up to 3 *** kinds of dosage forms of CM had been used,including CM decoction,CM patent prescription and CM *** the efficacy in the view of patients,40.31%(786 cases)believed that it would be effective to take Chinese herbs before they starting the anti-cancer treatment,and the percentage increased to 81.08%after 1-month CM *** effect of Chinese herbs was mainly demonstrated by symptom relief and improvement of quality of life,and 8.31%(162 cases)of patients experienced control of tumor growth and decreased tumor ***,only 14.31%(279 cases)participants reported that they experienced side effects during CM *** This large scale investigation reflects the current situation of domestic CM usage objectively and comprehensively,which might provide new ways for cancer treatment.
