The effect of sintering temperature on the densification mechanisms, microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of spark plasma sintered （sps） compacts of a gas atomized Al-4.5 wt.%Cu alloy was investigated. The powder particles whose size varied between 10 to 500μm was subjected to sps at 400, 450 and 500℃ at a pressure of 30 Mpa. The compact sintered at 500℃ exhibited fully dense microstructure which was characterized by a uniform distribution of the secondary phase, free of dendrites and micro-porosity. Microscopy and the sps data reveal that the events such as particle rearrangement, localized deformation and bulk deformation appear to be the sequence of sintering mechanisms depending on the size range of powder particles used for consolidation. The compact sintered at 500℃ exhibited the highest hardness and compression strength since the microstructure was characterized by fine distribution of precipitates, large fraction of submicron grains and complete metallurgical bonding.

Aim: To evaluate the effect of methoxychlor on the antioxidant system of goat epididymal sperm. Methods:Epididymis of adult goat was obtained from local slaughter houses and sperm were collected by chopping the epididymisin modified Ringer's phosphate solution (Rps). After several washings, the sperm samples were dispersed in Rps andincubated with methoxychlor (1μmol/L, 10μmol/L and 100μmol/L) and methoxychlor + vitamin C (100μmol/Leach) for 3 h at 32℃. After incubation, the sperm motility and viability were assessed. An aliquot of sperm samplewas homogenized, centrifuged and used for the assay of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione re-ductase and lipid peroxidation. Results; In methoxychlor-incubated sperm and in sperm co-incubated with methoxy-chlor and vitamin C, the sperm motility and viability showed no significant changes as compared to the correspondingcontrols. In methoxychlor-incubated sperm the activity of superoxide dismutase, glutathione reductase and glutathioneperoxidase were decreased while lipid peroxidation was increased in a dose-dependent manner. Co-incubation of spermwith methoxychlor and vitamin C showed no changes in the activity of superoxide dismutase, glutathione reductase andglutathione peroxidase and in the level of lipid peroxidation. Conclusion; Methoxychlor induced oxidative stress inepididymal sperm of goats by decreasing the levels of antioxidant enzymes. Co-incubation of sperm with methoxychlorand vitamin C, a natural antioxidant, reversed the effect of methoxychlor. (Asian J Androl 2001 Dec; 3; 285 - 288)

We prove that the interior stresses within both a non-parabolic open inhomogeneity and another interacting non-elliptical closed inhomogeneity can still remain constant when the matrix is simultaneously under the action of a screw dislocation and uniform remote anti-plane *** constancy of interior stresses is realized through the construction of a conformal mapping function for the doubly connected domain occupied by the surrounding *** mapping function is endowed with the information describing the screw dislocation via the incorporation of two specifically defined logarithmic *** constant interior stress fields are observed to be independent of the specific open and closed shapes of the two inhomogeneities and the existence of the screw *** contrast,the existence of the neighboring screw dislocation significantly affects the open and closed shapes of the two inhomogeneities.

One of the key points in the physics of the relaxors is their response to the applied DC *** studies of this topic were made,in particular on the influence of the field on the dielectric ***,practically,in all the cases,the measurements were performed at a fixed frequency and usually with the change in the temperature at the fixed field *** this paper,we report the evolution of the dielectric spectra at low frequencies(0.1 Hzperature 246 K on changing the DC electric field applied in(111)from 1 kV to 7 ***-Cole function was used to describe the spectra and the field dependences of the mean relaxation timeτ,the oscillation strengthΔεand the width parameterαwere *** obtainedτ(E)andΔε(E)provide evidence of the field-induced transition from the nonpolar glass-like phase to the nonpolar paraelectric phase at around 1.5 kV/*** the paraelectric phase,very fast hardening of the spectra was observed withτchanging from 10 s to about 10−4 *** performed analysis demonstrated that the earlier reported positive C-V effect is completely determined by the spectra hardening,whileΔεdoes not show any change in the glass-like phase and monotonously decreases with a field increase in the paraelectric *** complete understanding of the microscopic origin of the observed phenomena,a detailed study on the short-and long-range structures at the same condition is necessary.

Microfluidics has demonstrated high versatility in the analysis of in-flow particles and can even achieve mechanical properties measurements of biological cells by applying hydrodynamic ***,there is currently no available technique that enables the direct measurement and tracking of these hydrodynamic forces acting on a flowing *** this work,we introduce a novel method for the direct measurement of the hydrodynamic force actuating on an in-flow particle based on the analysis of the induced resonance changes of suspended microchannel resonators(sMRs).This hydrodynamic force sensitivity depends on the device used;therefore,we considered the geometry and materials to advance this dependency on the sMR resonance frequency.

研究半固态TiB2增强Al-Mg合金复合材料浆料的流变性能,对半固态加工过程中的充型模拟是必需的。在一台searle型流变仪的加热室内,将TiB2增强原位Al-Mg合金复合材料样品再熔化,随后将温度降低到半固态温度范围。为了复合材料的流变性能,进行三种不同的实验:稳态实验、连续冷却实验和等温实验。此外,从实验得到的滞回曲线证实了浆料的触变性。结果表明:当等温保持时,复合材料浆料显示假塑性和剪切变稀行为直到剪切速率达到1300 s-1;在更高剪切速率(>1300 s-1)下,它显示出剪切增稠趋势,这可能是由于不可变形的纳米TiB2颗粒的团聚引起的。通过剪切速率的间歇阶跃变化(剪切突变实验)也证实了浆料的假塑性行为。

A new search for two-neutrino double-beta(2vββ) decay of136Xe to the 01+excited state of136Ba is performed with the full EXO-200 dataset.A deep learning-based convolutional neural network is used to discriminate signal from background *** detection efficiency is increased relative to previous searches by EXO-200 by more than a factor of *** the addition of the phase Ⅱ dataset taken with an upgraded detector,the median 90%confidence level half-life sensitivity of 2vββ decay to the 01+state of136Ba is 2.9 × 1024yr using a total136Xe exposure of 234.1 kg *** statistically significant evidence for 2vββ decay to the 01+state is observed,leading to a lower limit of T1/22v(0+→01+)>1.4×1024yr at 90% confidence level,improved by 70% relative to the current world’s best constraint.

Asian cultivated rice shows allelic variation in sodium transporter,OsHKT1;5,correlating with shoot sodium exclusion(salinity tolerance).These changes map to intra/extracellularly-oriented loops that occur between four transmembrane-p loop-transmembrane(MpM)motifs in OsHKT1;***1;5 sequences from more recently evolved Oryza species(***/*** complex species)contain two expansions that involve two intracellularly oriented loops/helical regions between MpM domains,potentially governing transport characteristics,while more ancestral HKT1;5 sequences have shorter intracellular *** compared homology models for homoeologous OcHKT 1;5-K and OcHKT1;5-L from halophytic *** to identify complementary amino acid residues in OcHKT1;5-L that potentially enhance affinity for Na+.Using haplotyping,we showed that Asian cultivated rice accessions only have a fraction of HKT1;5 diversity available in progenitor wild rice species(*** and ***).progenitor HKT1;5 haplotypes can thus be used as novel potential donors for enhancing cultivated rice salinity *** Asian rice accessions,10 non-synonymous HKT1;5 haplotypic groups *** HKT1;5 haplotypic diversities occur in cultivated indica gene pool compared to *** Haplotypes 2 and 10 occur in mutually exclusive japonica and indica groups,corresponding to haplotypes in *** salt-sensitive and salt-tolerant landraces,*** distinct haplotype partitioning may have originated in separate ancestral gene pools of indica and japonica,or from different haplotypes selected during *** of specific HKT1;5 haplotypes within the 3000 rice dataset may relate to eco-physiological fitness in specific geo-climatic and/or edaphic contexts.
