In 2018,the Government of India approved the establishment of the New All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS)in Thoppur,Madurai,Tamil Nadu,*** the most important amenity for continuing primary care and rescue response is a healthcare facility,a secure electricity supply becomes an imperative ***,as the energy supplier for the new AIIMS,Madurai,this paper proposes a microgrid combined with the utility *** microgrid consists of a 4-MW photovoltaic system,a 1.8-MW wind-turbine energy-conversion system,a backup diesel generator capable of meeting the forecasted maximum demand and a 1-MW battery energy-storage *** AIIMS Microgrid will have a service providing a capacity of 20 MVA following integration with the utility *** proposed microgrid would be the first attempt at healthcare facilities in India since its first day of work to ensure the availability of *** would have a 9.8%return on investment,a 13.6%internal rate of return and a payback period of 6.75 years once it is operational,as well as an attractive levelized cost of energy(LCOE)of USD 0.07547/*** would provide an environmentally friendly atmosphere by avoiding an annual emission of 6261132 kg of carbon dioxide,27362 kg of sulphur dioxide and 12838 kg of nitrogen oxides as compared to power supplied entirely from the utility grid.

Data security is one of the major concerns for digital data as well as voice transmission through non-privatized ***,a significant amount of research work is needed to provide reliable and secured data/voice *** CS-ACELp algorithm based G.729 codec is standardized as voice codec by ITU-T for multimedia and Voice over Internet protocol （VoIp） *** encoding scheme described in this paper,for CS-ACELp speech codec provides on-fly （while processing the speech frame） security for the encoded data,which avoids the use of various complex encryption,and decryption algorithms in order to provide secured speech *** method is based on the periodically changing the track sequence of fixed codebook index for every 100 ms speech samples sampled at a rate of 8000 samples per second and also,adapting a new technique to encode the fixed codebook *** paper,presents an easy and efficient way of providing data security for G.729 *** experimental results show that similar speech quality can be obtained without compromising with additional cost and transmission bandwidth.

A set of co-doped(Tb^(3+)/Dy^(3+))lithium zinc borate(LZB)glasses were developed by melt *** structural evaluation was performed for synthesized glassy *** Dy^(3+)and Tb^(3+)individually doped glasses exhibit intense yellow and green luminescence bands at 575 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)→^(6)H_(13/2))and543 nm(^(5)D_(4)→^(7)F_(5)),*** sensitization effect of Dy^(3+)on Tb^(3+)was analyzed by increasing the Tb^(3+)content with respect to the optimum Dy^(3+)content(0.5 mol%)in Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+).The spectral overlay of Dy^(3+)luminescence and Tb^(3+)absorption profiles,Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+)pL spectra under different excitations 352,362,376,and 385 nm,shortening decay lifetimes of Dy^(3+)in Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+)co-activated glasses,energy transfer(ET)parameters,chromaticity coordinates and their corresponding correlated temperatures all help to explain ET from Dy^(3+)to Tb^(3+).At 385 nm of Dy^(3+)excitation,the optimized co-activated(0.5Dy^(3+)+1.0Tb^(3+)):LZB glass displays cool white light *** non-radiative ET from Dy^(3+)to Tb^(3+)is dominated by electric dipole-dipole interaction and its ET efficiency was calculated to be 63%.At the same time,reverse ET from Tb^(3+)to Dy^(3+)was also *** shift in color coordinates from dominant yellow to greenish-yellow,green and white light emission suggests that Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+)coactivated LZB glasses can be a potential candidate for UV converted multicolor and white light emitting devices.

Outcome of patients with traumatic cranial nerve palsy admitted to a university hospital in Nepal

Background Cranial nerve palsy (CNp) is a common complication of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Despite a high incidence of TBI in Nepal (382 per 100,000), literature on the specific management and outcome of CNp is lacking. This study aimed to examine the outcomes of TBI patients involving single versus multiple *** A retrospective chart review of 170 consecutive TBI patients admitted to the tertiary neurosurgical center in Nepal between April 2020 and April 2022 was conducted. Demographic, clinical, and etiological characteristics; imaging findings; and management strategies were recorded, compared, and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended (GOSE) was used to measure the outcomes in two groups of patients (single and multiple CNp) at 3 *** Out of 250 eligible patients, 80 were excluded and CNp was noted in 29 (17.1%) of the remaining 170. The median age was 34.9 years, and falls (60.6%) were the most common cause of trauma. TBI severity was categorized based on GCS: mild (82.4%), moderate (15.9%), and severe (1.8%). Cranial nerve involvement was seen in 29 (17.05%) patients: single cranial nerve involvement in 26 (89.65%) and multiple nerve involvement in 3 (10.34%). The most common isolated cranial nerve involved was the oculomotor nerve (37.9%). CT findings revealed a maximum of skull fractures with no significant association between CNp and CT *** CNp is a common consequence of TBI with the most common etiology being falls followed by RTA. Single CNp was more common than multiple CNp with no significant difference in the outcome in the 3-month GOSE score. Further research is needed to determine the burden of traumatic CNp and establish specific management guidelines for different types of CNp.

Central nervous system (CNS) vasculitis encompasses a broad range of diseases characterized by inflammation of blood vessels within the brain, spinal cord, and meninges. This review focuses on primary Angiitis of the CNS (pACNS), a unique form affecting only the CNS without other organ involvement. pACNS primarily affects the small- and medium-sized arteries in the brain, leading to neurological symptoms. Early recognition and intervention are essential for optimal management. This case report of a 25-year-old male highlights the diagnostic challenges, where a multidisciplinary approach was necessary to diagnose pACNS, given initial negative results. The paper also explores the etiology and pathogenesis of pACNS and discusses the diagnostic criteria proposed by researchers. Medical professionals primarily base management strategies on induction and maintenance therapies, utilizing a combination of glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants as the standard treatment. However, the exact dosages and administration methods need further research due to the absence of randomized clinical trials. The review underscores the need for continued research to enhance diagnostic and treatment protocols, given the severity of pACNS.
