Combined heat and mass transfer on free, forced, and mixed convection flow along a porous wedge with magnetic effect in the presence of chemical reaction is investigated. The flow field characteristics are analyzed by the Runge-Kutta-Gill scheme with the shooting method as well as the local non-similarity method up to the third level of truncation, which are used to reduce the governing partial differential equations into nine ordinary differential equations. The governing boundary layer equations are converted to a dimensionless form by Falkner-Skan transformations. Because of the effect of suction/injection on the wall of the wedge with buoyancy force and variable wall temperature, the flow field is locally non-similar. Numerical calculations up to the third order level of truncation are carried out as a special case for different values of dimensionless parameters. Effects of the magnetic field strength in the presence of chemical reaction with variable wall temperature and concentration on the dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are shown graphically.

An analysis is carried out to study the combined effects of viscous and Ohmic heating in the transient, free convective flow of a viscous, incompressible, and doubly stratified fluid past an isothermal vertical plate with radiation and chemical reactions. The governing boundary layer equations are solved numerically by an implicit finite difference scheme of the Crank-Nicolson type. The influence of different parameters on the velocity, the temperature, the concentration, the skin friction, the Nusselt number, and the Sherwood number is discussed with graphical illustrations. It is observed that an increase in either the thermal stratification or the mass stratification parameter decreases the velocity. An increase in the thermal stratification increases the concentration and decreases the temperature while an opposite effect is observed for an increase in the mass stratification. An augmentation in viscous and Ohmic heating increases the velocity and temperature while decreases the concentration. The results are found to be in good agreement with the existing solutions in literature.

A novel anionic trinuclear linear copper（II） complex {[Et3NH][Cul.5（CH3COO）- （TTA）3] } 2 （1, TTA = 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetonate） has been synthesized in a direct reaction involving copper（]l） acetate monohydrate, TTA and excess triethylamine base in dichloromethane solvent. Green colored X-ray quality crystals of 1 were grown from n-hexane solvent at room temperature. The data were collected at 100 K. Compound I crystallizes in the monoclinic p21/n space group （a = 11.2141（8）, b = 19.0965（13）, c = 17.3680（14） A, β = 90.225（2）°, V= 3719.3（5） A3, Mr = 1840.14, Dc = 1.643 Mg/m3, F（000） = 1866, μ = 1.129 mm^-1 and Z = 2）. The asymmetric unit of 1 contains two copper atoms, one of which lies on a crystallographic inversion center with 50% occupancy.

The rapid depletion of fossil fuel and growing demand necessitates researchers to find alternative fuels which are clean and sustainable. The need for finding renewable, low cost and environmentally friendly fuel resources can never be understated. An efficient method of generation and storage of hydrogen will enable automotive manufacturers to introduce hydrogen fuelled engine in the market. In this paper, a conventional DI diesel engine was modified to operate as gas engine. The intake manifold of the engine was supplied with hydrogen along with recirculated exhaust gas and air. The injection rates of hydrogen were maintained at three levels with 2 L/min, 4 L/min, 6 L/min and 8 L/min and 10 L/min with an injection pressure of 2 bar. Many of the combustion parameters like heat release rate （HRR）, ignition delay, combustion duration, rate of pressure rise （ROpR）, cumulative heat release rate （CHR）, and cyclic pressure fluctuations were measured. The HRR peak pressure decreased with the increase in EGR rate, while combustion duration increased with the EGR rate. The cyclic pressure variation also increased with the increase in EGR rate.

In a previous study from our laboratory, fucoxanthin purified from brown algae, Sargassum wightii Greville has found to exhibit antioxidant activity and inhibition of angiotensin-I-converting enzyme(ACE)in vitro. The present study aims in understanding the protective effect of fucoxanthin purified from S. wightii against diabetes with hypertension in in vivo. Diabetes and hypertension were induced in rat by streptozotocin and sodium chloride treatment, respectively. In diabetes with hypertension rat, the blood pressure was increased along with hyperglycemia. Administration of fucoxanthin significantly reduced the blood pressure and ACE activity in diabetes with hypertension rat. Furthermore, administration of fucoxanthin significantly reduced the hyperglycemic state. The activity of various enzymes in the liver(hexokinase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, glucose-6-phosphatase and fructose-1,6-phosphatase)and serum(creatine kinase)were normalized to that of control level. The level of glycogen, glycoprotein component and lipid profile were equivalent to control level by fucoxanthin administration in diabetes with hypertension rats. Fucoxanthin ameliorated the oxidative stress by preserving the endogenous antioxidant levels in diabetes with hypertension rats. Also, the pancreatic histological integrity was similar to that of control level in diabetes with hypertension rats by fucoxanthin treatment. Altogether, fucoxanthin showed dual antidiabetic and antihypertensive activity in vivo.

This paper explores the use of artificial neural networks （ANN） to predict performance, combustion and emissions of a single cylinder, four stroke stationary, diesel engine operated by thermal cracked cashew nut shell liquid （TC-CNSL） as the biodiesel blended with diesel. The tests were performed at three different injection timings （21°, 23°, 25℃A bTDC） by changing the thickness of the advance shim. The ANN was used to predict eight different engine-output responses, namely brake thermal efficiency （BTE）, brake specific fuel consumption （BSFC）, exhaust gas temperature （EGT）, carbon monoxide （CO）, oxide of nitrogen （NOx）, hydrocarbon （HC）, maximum pressure （pm~,,） and heat release rate （HRR）. Four pertinent engine operating parameters, i.e., injection timing （IT）, injection pressure （Ip）, blend percentage and pecentage load were used as the input parameters for this modeling work. The ANN results show that there is a good correlation between the ANN predicted values and the experimental values for various engine performances, combustion parameters and exhaust emission characteristics. The mean square error value （MSE） is 0.005621 and the regression value ofR2 is 0.99316 for training, 0.98812 for validation, 0.9841 for testing while the overall value is 0.99173. Thus the developed ANN model is fairly powerful for predicting the performance, combustion and exhaust emissions of internal combustion engines.

Aliphatic C–H groups are among the most abundant yet least reactive functional groups in organic molecules. Nature has evolved metalloenzymes such as those of the cytochrome p450 superfamily that efficiently activate individual tertiary（3） and secondary （2） C（sp3）–H bonds in complex molecules with the highest level of regio-and stereoselectivity [1], thus encouraging studies aimed at engineering artificial metalloenzymes for synthetic applications [2].
