Hepatitis b virus(HbV)reactivation(HbVr)represents a severe and potentially life-threatening condition,and preventive measures are available through blood test screening or prophylactic therapy *** assessment of HbVr traditionally considers factors such as HbV profile,including hepatitis b surface antigen(HbsAg)and antibody to hepatitis b core antigen,along with type of medication(chemotherapy;immunomodulants).Nevertheless,consideration of possible patient’s underlying tumor and the specific malignancy type(solid or hematologic)plays a crucial role and needs to be assessed for decision-making process.

Ultra-wideband(UWb)microwave sources driven by specialised pulsed power generators have experienced a considerable development in the last decade due to their wide domain of new applications such as defence or counter-terrorism *** authors present the main findings of a research dedicated to the development of a pulsed power-driven electromagnetic field source for disabling improvised explosive devices(IED).The pulsed power generator driving the source is a 13-stage compact Marx producing voltage pulses reaching an amplitude of 0.5 MV,with a pulse repetition frequency(pRF)of up to 100 *** generator is coupled to a bipolar pulse forming line,providing bipolar pulses with a dV/dt of around 1.6 MV/*** pulsed power system feeds an array composed of 16 Koshelev-type UWb antennas through an impedance matching *** resulting electromagnetic source is capable to produce pulsed electric fields(pEFs)having a figure-of-merit(FOM)of 1 ***,practical experiments were carried out to study the effects of the pEFs on *** targets used in the present study are M2b type flashbulbs,known to have the same susceptibility as the US army M6 *** configurations of wires(shielded,twisted,etc)with different lengths were used in connecting items inside these *** tests were performed by placing the flashbulbs at different distances to determine the essential parameters(i.e.,amplitude,duration,and frequency range)of the pEFs required to trigger *** overview of the experimental campaign and the main findings are also presented followed by conclusions.

bACKGROUND Studies with large size samples on the liver histological changes of indeterminate phase chronic hepatitis b(CHb)patients were not previously *** To assess the liver histological changes in the indeterminate phase CHb patients using liver *** The clinical and laboratory data of 1532 untreated CHb patients were collected,and all patients had least once liver biopsy from January 2015 to december *** significant differences among different phases of CHb infection were compared with t-test,and the risk factors of significant liver histological changes were analyzed by the multivariate logistic regression *** Among 1532 untreated CHb patients,814(53.13%)patients were in the indeterminate *** liver histological changes(defined as biopsy score≥G2 and/or≥S2)were found in 488/814(59.95%)CHb patients in the indete-rminate *** liver histological changes were significant differences among different age,platelets(pLTs),and alanine aminotransferase(ALT)subgroup in indeterminate *** logistic regression analysis indicated that age≥40 years old[adjust odd risk(aOR),1.44;95%confidence interval(CI):1.06-1.97;p=0.02],pLTs≤150×10^(9)/L(aOR,2.99;95%CI:1.85-4.83;ppper limits of normal(aOR,1.48;95%CI:1.08,2.05,p=0.0163)were independent risk factors for significant liver histological changes in CHb patients in the indeterminate *** Our results suggested that significant liver histological changes were not rare among the untreated CHb patients in indeterminate phase,and additional strategies are urgently required for the management of these patients.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of asiaticoside on streptozotocin(STZ)and nicotinamide(NAD)-induced carbohydrate metabolism abnormalities and deregulated insulin signaling pathways in ***:Asiaticoside(50 and 100 mg/kg body weight)was administered to STZ-NAD-induced diabetic rats for 45 days,and its effects on hyperglycaemic,carbohydrate metabolic,and insulin signaling pathway markers were ***:Asiaticoside increased insulin production,lowered blood glucose levels,and enhanced glycolysis by improving hexokinase activity and suppressing glucose-6-phosphatase and fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase *** in glycogen metabolism were mitigated by increasing glycogen synthase activity and gluconeogenesis was decreased by decreasing glycogen phosphorylase ***,asiaticoside upregulated the mRNA expressions of IRS-1,IRS-2,and GLUT4 in STZ-NAD-induced diabetic rats and restored the beta cell morphology to ***:Asiaticoside has the potential to ameliorate type 2 diabetes by improving glycolysis,gluconeogenesis,and insulin signaling pathways.

Rhombohedral phase Hf_(x)Zr_(1.x)O_(2)(HZO,x from 0 to 1)films are promising for achieving robust ferroelectric polarization without the need for an initial wake-up pre-cycling,as is normally the case for the more commonly studied orthorhombic ***,a large spontaneous polarization observed in rhombohedral films is not fully understood,and there are also large discrepancies between experimental and theoretical *** this work,in rhombohedral ZrO_(2)thin films,we show that oxygen vacancies are not only a key factor for stabilizing the phase,but they are also a source of ferroelectric polarization in the *** is shown experimentally through the investigation of the structural properties,chemical composition and the ferroelectric properties of the films before and after an annealing at moderate temperature(400℃)in an oxygen environment to reduce the V_(o)concentration *** experimental work is supported by density functional theory(DFT)calculations which show that the rhombohedral phase is the most stable one in highly oxygen defective ZrO_(2)*** DFT calculations also show that V_(o)contribute to the ferroelectric *** findings reveal the importance of V_(o)for stabilizing rhombohedral ZrO_(2)thin films with superior ferroelectric properties.

Type-b monoamine oxidase inhibitors,encompassing selegiline,rasagiline,and safinamide,are available to treat parkinson's *** drugs ameliorate motor symptoms and improve motor fluctuation in the advanced stages of the *** is also evidence suppo rting the benefit of type-b monoamine oxidase inhibitors on non-motor symptoms of parkinson's disease,such as mood deflection,cognitive impairment,sleep disturbances,and *** studies indicate that type-b monoamine oxidase inhibitors hold a strong neuroprotective potential in parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases for reducing oxidative stress and stimulating the production and release of neurotrophic factors,particularly glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor,which suppo rt dopaminergic ***,safinamide may interfere with neurodegenerative mechanisms,countera cting excessive glutamate overdrive in basal ganglia motor circuit and reducing death from *** to the dual mechanism of action,the new generation of type-b monoamine oxidase inhibitors,including safinamide,is gaining interest in other neurological pathologies,and many supporting preclinical studies are now *** potential fields of application concern epilepsy,Duchenne muscular dystrophy,multiple scle rosis,and above all,ischemic brain *** purpose of this review is to investigate the preclinical and clinical pharmacology of selegiline,rasagiline,and safinamide in parkinson's disease and beyond,focusing on possible future therapeutic applications.
