Diel investigations of water environments are one means to holistically understand the dynamics and functional roles of phytoplankton,bacteria and viruses in these *** have the potential to substantially impact carbon(C),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(p)biogeochemistry through their respective *** study characterizes the phytoplankton,bacteria and virus communities and the elemental composition of various C,N and p nutrients flow over three diel cycles in tropical urban *** results show that ratios of C:N:p fluctuated strongly from the lack of dissolved organic phosphorus(DOp)and pO_(4).Specifically,green algae peaked during day time and exudate dissolved organic matter(DOM)that strongly modulate dissolved organic carbon(DOC):DOp ratio to diel DOp *** linear regression and Stella modelling emphasize the roles of viruses together with Synechococcus as important nutrient recyclers of NH_(4)and pO_(4)in nutrients-limited *** normalised surface pO_(4)and combined surface and bottom NH_(4)concentration selected both viruses and Synechococcus as important *** model of N and p biogeochemical cycles can achieve 69%and 57%similar to observed concentration of NH_(4)and pO_(4),respectively.A short latent period of 9 hr was calculated,in addition to the calibrated high infectivity of viruses to *** together,the rapid turn-over between Synechococcus and viruses has biogeochemical significance,where the rapid recycling of essential nutrients allows for shortcuts in the N and p cycle,supporting a wide range of microbes.

Impact of Energy Transition on CO2 Emissions in China's Cities

Reducing global carbon dioxide（CO2） emissions is essential for meeting climate change mitigation goals, especially in urban areas. In this regard, this study used CO2emissions and energy transition data from 296 China's cities in 2020 and the extended Stochastic Impacts by Regression on population, Affluence, and Technology（STIRpAT） model to explore the relationship between energy transition and CO2emissions at the city-scale. The findings indicate a spatial distribution of energy transition magnitude that is high in the west and low in the east, which does not align with economic status and total CO2emissions, posing significant challenges for China's energy transition and urban CO2reduction. The STIRpAT model reveals that urban CO2emissions are significantly driven by increases in population size, levels of economic development, and the expansion of transportation infrastructure. Conversely, investments in science and education, the expansion of the tertiary sector, and the disruptive effects of the COVID-19（Coronavirus Disease 2019） pandemic are associated with notable reductions in CO2emissions. Specifically, the analysis estimates that a 1.00% increase in the energy transition degree is associated witha 0.90% decrease in urban CO2emissions. However, regional assessments underscore considerable spatial heterogeneity in the energy transition effect, with CO2reduction benefits being less pronounced in central and western cities. These findings suggest that future clean energy initiatives should be strategically concentrated in eastern China, where the demand and potential for CO2mitigation are greater. This study deepens the understanding of the complex relationship between energy transition and urban CO2emissions, offering valuable insights to inform targeted policy interventions for carbon reduction at the city level.

In the realm of nonlinear integrable systems, the presence of decompositions facilitates the establishment of linear superposition solutions and the derivation of novel coupled systems exhibiting nonlinear integrability. By focusing on single-component decompositions within the potential BKp hierarchy, it has been observed that specific linear superpositions of decomposition solutions remain consistent with the underlying equations. Moreover, through the implementation of multi-component decompositions within the potential BKp hierarchy,successful endeavors have been undertaken to formulate linear superposition solutions and novel coupled Kd V-type systems that resist decoupling via alterations in dependent variables.

This paper considers local median estimation in fixed design regression problems. The proposed method is employed to estimate the median function and the variance function of a heteroscedastic regression model. Strong convergence rates of the proposed estimators are obtained. Simulation results are given to show the performance of the proposed methods.

Development of the telencephalon relies upon several signaling centers-localized cellular populations that supply secreted factors to pattern the cortical *** such signaling center is the cortical hem,which arises during embryonic development at the telencephalic dorsal midline,adjacent to the choroid plexus and hippocampal primordium(Figure 1A).While the cortical hem has also been described in reptiles and birds,most of our knowledge about the developmental roles of the cortical hem is derived from the analysis in *** cortical hem produces several types of secreted molecules,including wingless-related integration site(Wnt)and bone morphogenetic(Bmp)*** cortical hem is particularly important for the development of the hippocampus,which is involved in learning and memory,and the neocortex,which is the most complex brain region that mediates multiple types of behavior and higher cognitive functions(Mangale et al.,2008;Dal-Valle-Anton and Borrell,2022).

Methane（CH4） is a highly potent greenhouse gas due to its high radiative forcing and global warming *** the magnitude, spatial patterns, and drivers of CH4emission from wetlands at the regional scale is crucial for formulating suitable strategies to mitigate future climate change. In this study, we synthesized the CH4flux data reported for major plant communities in the coastal salt marshes and mangrove forests in China and produced a spatial map of CH4fluxes from the mangrove sediments and salt marshes in China based on the results of machine learning models. Moreover, we examined the main drivers of CH4flux from these coastal wetlands and estimated the annual CH4emissions from the salt marshes and mangrove forests in different coastal provinces of China using a bottom-up approach. Our results showed that the mean CH4fluxes from the salt marsh and mangrove ecosystems in China were 2.22±0.29 and 2.26±0.55 mg m-2h-1, respectively. Across China, the total annual CH4emission from salt marshes was 31,179.75 Mg CH4a-1, while that from mangroves was 5,533.97 Mg CH4a-1with the sediments contributing to 12.7%(701.64 Mg CH4a-1) of the total efflux. The salt marshes and mangroves in China accounted for 2.75% and 0.14%–0.15% of the global annual CH4emissions from these two ecosystems,respectively. Moreover, we found that CH4emissions from the salt marshes and mangroves could offset the cooling impact arising from net carbon dioxide uptake by 88% and 53%, respectively, over a 100-year time scale. Mean annual temperature, soil moisture, and soil organic carbon content were the main factors controlling CH4emissions from these coastal ***, we found that CH4fluxes from the salt marshes in China decreased with latitude, which implied a possible increase in marsh CH4emission in response to global warming that should be considered carefully when developing nature-based climate solutions to achieve national goals for carbon neutrality.

Rare earth-based Bi_(0.85)La_(0.15)FeO_(3)(BLFO)and NdMnO_(3)(NMO)particles were synthesised using the solidstate route,and their roles affecting structural,electrical,magnetic properties along with hydroelectric application in different concentrations i.e.,(1-x)BLFO:xNMO(where x=0,0.10,0.20,0.30 and 1.0)ceramics composites were investigated.X-ray diffraction analyses confirm the pure-phase formation of BLFO:NMO composites,featuring micrometer-scale crystallite *** transform infrared(FT-IR)spectra of BLFO:NMO composites reveal peak shifts with rising NMO content,indicating composite *** composites exhibit robust Maxwell-Wagner polarization and a pronounced composition-dependent *** addition of NMO to BLFO results in a rise in dielectric permittivity at lower frequencies,confirming relaxor behavior and indicating success in achieving the transition *** spectroscopy facilitates a clearer understanding of how charge carriers contribute to these composites and the impact of grain/grain *** saturation magnetization maximum value(i.e.,0.807 emu/g)was attained in *** coercivity decreases with the addition of NMO in *** results suggest the composite's enhanced suitability for microelectronics and hydropower cells,showing improved hydroelectric cell performance with increased NMO in BLFO,highlighting a notable ion diffusion mechanism.
