A geomagnetic storm is a global disturbance of Earth?s magnetosphere,occurring as a result of the interaction with magnetic plasma ejected from the *** considerable research,a comprehensive classification of storms for a complete solar cycle has not yet been fully developed,as most previous studies have been limited to specific storm *** study,therefore,attempted to present complete statistics for solar cycle 24,detailing the occurrence of geomagnetic storm events and classifying them by type of intensity(moderate,intense,and severe),type of complete interval(normal or complex),duration of the recovery phase(rapid or long),and the number of steps in the storm?s *** analysis was applied to data from ground-based magnetometers,which measured the Dst index as provided by the World Data Center for Geomagnetism,Kyoto,*** study identified 211 storm events,comprising moderate(177 events),intense(33 events),and severe(1 event)*** 36%of ICMEs and 23%of CIRs are found to be geoeffective,which caused geomagnetic *** to four-step development of geomagnetic storms was exhibited during the main phase for this solar *** showed the geomagnetic storms developed one or more steps in the main phase,which were probably related to the driver that triggered the geomagnetic storms.A case study was additionally conducted to observe the variations of the ionospheric disturbance dynamo(Ddyn)phenomenon that resulted from the geomagnetic storm event of 2015July *** attenuation of the Ddyn in the equatorial region was analyzed using the H component of geomagnetic field data from stations in the Asian sector(Malaysia and India).The variations in the Ddyn signatures were observed at both stations,with the TIR station(India)showing higher intensity than the LKW station(Malaysia).

The Impact of Heat Treatment and Surface Treatment on Thermal Conductivity of Heat Sinks Made of Aluminium Die Casting Alloys

This research contributes to understand the thermal management capabilities of plate Fin Heat Sinks(pFHS)fabricated from *** uniqueness in this study is that the heat sinks were exposed to abrasive blasting,heat treatment,and graphene coating,and a full evaluation of the influence of the aforementioned treatments on the thermal management capacities of pFHS was *** pFHS is compared with 1)abrasive blasted and graphene coated heat sink,and 2)heat treated and graphene coated heat *** assess the thermal efficiency of the pFHS variants,a dedicated experimental set up was meticulously *** is noteworthy that a junction temperature of 60℃was assumed as the reference point for the *** results revealed that the charging cycle time which denotes the time required attaining the junction temperature,increased 1.3 times for the sample being abrasive-blasted at 0.5 Mpa pressure and graphene-coated for 0.5 mm when the maximum heat input of 45 W is *** low heat input of 15 W is evaluated,the results revealed that there is no significant difference in charging cycle when compared to the untreated heat *** charging cycle time increased 2 times for the sample which is heat-treated at 450℃and graphene-coated for 0.5 mm at heat input of 15 *** finding unequivocally underscores the heightened capacity of the heat treated and graphene coated pFHS made of AlSi10Mg to withstand elevated junction temperatures.

Distance relays are prone to symmetrical power swing *** mitigate this issue,a dynamic threshold-supported algorithm is proposed.A single logic is not supposed to be secure for all ***,a supervisory algorithm,as proposed in this study,can aid in the improvement of the immunity of the relay during swing cases and be sensitive to symmetrical *** the developed stages,a three-phase power signal was used and processed in two different steps:(i)extraction of the effective intrinsic mode function(IMF)selected from the Kurtosis analysis using the wavelet synchro-squeezing transform,and(ii)estimation of the average Euclidean distance index using the absolute values of the decomposed IMF’*** adaptive threshold facilitated resistance to swing *** the onset of a symmetrical fault,the proposed algorithm efficiently discriminated among events using a dynamic *** IEEE 39-bus test system and Indian Eastern power Grid networks were modelled using pSCAD software,and cases were generated to test the efficacy of the *** impact of the proposed method on a large-scale wind farm was also evaluated.A comparative analysis with other existing methods revealed the security and dependability of the proposed method.
