Although nitrogen in the Earth’s interior has attracted significant attention recently,it remains the most enigmatic of the light elements in the Earth’s *** this work,synchrotron X-ray diffraction(XRD)and electrical conductivity experiments were conducted on iron nitrides(Fe_(2)N and Fe_(4)N)in diamond anvil cells(DACs)up to about 70 Gpa at ambient *** results show that iron nitrides are stable up to at least 70 *** the equation of state(EOS)parameters,iron nitrides are more compressible than iron ***,using the van der pauw method and Wiedemann-Franz law,the electrical and thermal conductivity of samples were determined to be much lower than that of iron *** conductivities of Fe_(2)N and Fe_(4)N were similar at 20–70 Gpa,suggesting no evident effects by varying the N stoichiometries in iron *** nitrides are less dense and conductive but more compressible than carbides at 0–70 *** study indicates that less nitrogen than carbon can explain geophysical phenomena in the deep Earth,such as the density deficit.

From 7~th through 13~th, August, 1992, a series of heavy rainstorms took place in Shaanxi province. the rainfall moved from the north to the south in sequence, resulting in flood events in tributaries of the Middle Yelow River, such as Huangfuchuan, Kuye, Wuding, Yanhe, Beiluo, Jinhe and Weihe rivers. these floods, converged from various tributaries, propagated downstream and formed four continuing flood crests at Huayuankou Hydrometric Station in the Lower Yellow River with a max. peak discharge of 6260m3/s, which is referred as "92.8" flood. Although the peak discharge of 6260m3/s is a frequent one for the Lower Yelow Rived, the water stage reached 94.33m, the second record of the station, even 0.34m higher than that in 1982 when the peak discharge was 15300 m3/s. the "92.8" flood brought about a lot of damages, including inundation of 40000 ha of farmland on the floodplain of the Lower Yellow Rived the extremely high water stage, occurred in Huayuankou Hydrometric Station was caused directly by the previous deposition in main channel and unfavorable combination of incoming flow and sediment regime. But the primary cause is the change in incoming runoff and sediment load in the Lower Yellow River. Since the middle of 1980's remarkable reduction has taken place both in runoff and sediment load, and to some extent becomes definitely a tendency in furture. As some unforeseen troubles in flood control in Lower Yellow River might occur, more attention should be paid for it.

In this paper,the behavior of breakthrough curves(BTCs) for reactive solute transport through stratified porous media is investigated.A physical laboratory model for layered porous media was constructed,in which thin layer of gravel was sandwiched in between two thick layers of natural *** layer and natural soil layers were hydraulically connected as single porous continuum.A constant source of tracer was connected through gravel layer and elucidated at different sampling points in the direction of *** multiprocess non-equilibrium(MpNE) transport equation with scale-dependent dispersivity function was used to simulate experimental BTCs of reactive solute transport through layered porous *** values of equilibrium sorption coefficient and other input parameters were obtained *** simulation of BTC was performed using MpNE model with scale-dependent *** simulation of different scale-dependent dispersivities was then compared and it was found that for field scale of estimation of dispersivity,asymptotic and exponential dispersivity functions performed *** continuation to the comparison of simulated BTCs obtained using different models,spatial moment analysis of each aforesaid scale-dependent dispersivity model was also *** moment analysis provides the information related to mean solute mass,rate of mass travel,and mean plume *** and constant dispersivities showed higher variance as compared to asymptotic and exponential dispersion *** supports the field applicability of asymptotic and exponential dispersivity *** BTCs were also found to elucidate a nonzero concentration with time,which was clearly affected by physical *** natural condition,such information is required in effective aquifer remediation process.

A novel approach to the problem of optimal interconnection of nondes,for example, interconnect in an integrated circuit, modules in a multiprocessor system,or subscribers to a communication network is proposed. the method is based on a special mathematical structure from number theory-perfect Difference Sets (pDS). Using this approach, the performance of electronic, computer and telecommunication systems can be improved dramatically. the main concept,algorithm for designing optimal connecting graph, and a resulting topological structure of Hyperstar interconnections have all been fully developed.

this paper presents a theoretical study of damping,synchronizing and inertial control laws,implemented using controllable power injection devices like HVDC,FACTS or renewable-energy/storage systems which have power-electronic grid *** approach is to use a simplified dynamical model of a power system to arrive at generalized results regarding the effect of the strategies on the electro-mechanical dynamics of the *** results are not dependent on the size,network topology and operating condition of the power *** paper presents a differential-algebraic formulation and generalized eigenvalue analysis to facilitate a unified study of the effects of the control laws on the electro-mechanical *** damping,synchronizing and inertial control laws can themselves be extended to include the possibility of mutualdamping,synchronizing and inertial effects when multiple devices are *** control laws are not only simple and intuitive,but also are found to have a predictable and generally beneficial impact on the electro-mechanical dynamics of the grid,even when detailed models are considered.

Diabetes mellitus(DM)is defined as a chronic disease of disordered metabolism with an ongoing increase in prevalence and incidence *** disease in patients with diabetes is associated with increased morbidity and premature mortality,particularly attributed to their very high cardiovascular *** this group of patients frequently lacks specific symptomatology prior to the adverse events,a screening tool for the identification of high-risk patients is *** epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)is a biologically active organ having properties similar to visceral adipose tissue and has been associated with metabolic diseases and coronary artery *** to conventional cardiovascular risk factors and anthropometric measures,including body mass index and waist circumference,the EAT can early predict the development of coronary artery *** of EAT can be performed by twodimensional echocardiography,magnetic resonance imaging or computer ***,its role and significance in patients with DM and nephrop.thy has not been thoroughly *** aim of the current editorial is to evaluate all available evidence regarding EAT in patients with DM and renal *** search of the literature revealed that patients with DM and nephrop.thy have increased EAT measurements,uncontrolled underlying disease,high body mass index and raised cardiovascular risk *** the practical implications of this test,EAT assessment could serve as a novel and non-invasive biomarker to identify high-risk patients for cardiovascular adverse events.

In this work,noise removal in digital images is *** importance of this problem lies in the fact that removal of noise is a necessary pre-processing step for other image processing tasks such as edge detection,image segmentation,image compression,classification problems,image registration etc.A number of different approaches have been proposed in the *** this work,a non-linear pDE-based algorithm is developed based on the ideas proposed by Lysaker,Osher and Tai[IEEE *** process.,13(2004),1345-1357].this algorithm consists of two steps:flow field smoothing of the normal vectors,followed by image *** propose a finite-difference based additive operator-splitting method that allows for much larger *** results in an efficient method for noise-removal that is shown to have good visual *** energy is studied as an objective measure of the algorithm performance.
