Characterization of bright betatron radiation generated by direct laser acceleration of electrons in plasma of near critical density

Directed x-rays produced in the interaction of sub-picosecond laser pulses of moderate relativistic intensity with plasma of near-critical density are investigated. Synchrotron-like (betatron) radiation occurs in the process of direct laser acceleration (DLA) of electrons in a relativisticlaser channel when the electrons undergo transverse betatron oscillations in self-generated quasi-static electric and magnetic fields. In anexperiment at the pHELIX laser system, high-current directed beams of DLA electrons with a mean energy ten times higher than the ponderomotive potential and maximum energy up to 100 MeV were measured at 10^(19) W/cm^(2)laser intensity. The spectrum of directed x-raysin the range of 5–60 keV was evaluated using two sets of Ross filters placed at 0°and 10°to the laser pulse propagation axis. The differential x-ray absorption method allowed for absolute measurements of the angular-dependent photon fluence. We report 10^(13) photons/sr withenergies >5 keV measured at 0°to the laser axis and a brilliance of 10^(21) photons s^(−1) mm^(−2) mrad−2(0.1%BW)−1. The angular distributionof the emission has an FWHM of 14°–16°. Thanks to the ultra-high photon fluence, point-like radiation source, and ultra-short emissiontime, DLA-based keV backlighters are promising for various applications in high-energy-density research with kilojoule petawatt-class laserfacilities.

plastic concrete is an engineering material,which is commonly used for construction of cut-offwalls to prevent water seepage under the *** paper aims to explore two machine learning algorithms including artificial neural network (ANN)and support vector machine (SVM)to predict the compressive strength of bentonite/sepiolite plastic *** this purpose,two unique sets of 72 data for compressive strength of bentonite and sepiolite plastic concrete samples (totally 144 data)were prepared by conducting an experimental *** results confirm the ability of ANN and SVM models in prediction ***,Sensitivity analysis of the best obtained model indicated that cement and silty clay have the maximum and minimum influences on the compressive strength,*** addition, investigation of the effect of measurement error of input variables showed that change in the sand content (amount)and curing time will have the maximum and minimum effects on the output mean absolute percent error (MApE)of model, ***,the influence of different variables on the plastic concrete compressive strength values was evaluated by conducting parametric studies.

The last 40 years have witnessed how p53 rose from a viral binding protein to a central factor in both stress responses and tumor *** exquisite regulation of p53 functions is of vital importance for cell fate *** the multiple layers of mechanisms controlling p53 function,posttranslational modifications (pTMs) represent an efficient and precise *** p53 pTMs include phosphorylation,ubiquitination,acetylation,and ***,other pTMs like sumoylation,neddylation,O-GlcNAcylation,adenosine diphosphate (ADp)-ribosylation,hydroxylation,and p-hydroxybutyrylation are also shown to play various roles in p53 *** independent action or interaction,pTMs affect p53 stability,conformation,localization,and binding *** of the pTM-related pathway is among the major causes of p53-associated developmental disorders or diseases,especially in *** review focuses on the roles of different p53 modification types and shows how these modifications are orchestrated to produce various outcomes by modulating p53 activities or targeted to treat different diseases caused by p53 dysregulation.

Modulation of the p53/MDM2 interplay by HAUSp inhibitors

It is well established that both p53 and MDM2 are short-lived proteins whose stabilities are tightly controlled through ubiquitination-mediated degradation. Although numerous studies indicate that the MDM2 E3 ligase activity, as well as the protein-protein interaction between p53 and MDM2, is the major focus for this regulation, emerging evidence suggests that the deu- biquitinase herpesvirus-associated ubiquitin-specific protease （HAUSp, also known as USp7） plays a critical role. Furthermore, HAUSp inhibition elevates p53 stability and might be beneficial for therapeutic purposes. In this review, we discuss the advances of this dynamic pathway and the contributions of positive and negative regulators affecting HAUSp activity. We also highlight the roles of HAUSp in cancer justifying the production of the first generation of HAUSp inhibitors.

Autonomous vehicles: challenges, opportunities, and future implications for transportation policies

This study investigates the challenges and opportunities pertaining to transportation policies that may arise as a result of emerging autonomous vehicle （AV） technologies. AV technologies can decrease the transportation cost and increase accessibility to low-income households and persons with mobility issues. This emerging technology also has far-reaching applications and implications beyond all current expectations. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the relevant literature and explores a broad spectrum of issues from safety to machine ethics. An indispensable part of a prospective AV development is communication over cars and infrastructure （connected vehicles）. A major knowledge gap exists in AV technology with respect to routing behaviors. Connected- vehicle technology provides a great opportunity to imple- ment an efficient and intelligent routing system. To this end, we propose a conceptual navigation model based on a fleet of AVs that are centrally dispatched over a network seeking system optimization literature on two fronts：（i） This study contributes to the it attempts to shed light on future opportunities as well as possible hurdles associated with AV technology; and （ii） it conceptualizes a navigation model for the AV which leads to highly efficient traffic circulations.

Tourism is rapidly becoming a sustainable pathway toward economic prosperity for host countries and communities. Recent advances in information and communications technology, the smartphone, the Internet and Wi-Fi have given a boost to the tourism industry. The city bus tour （CBT） service is one of the most successful businesses in the tourism industry. However, there exists no smart decision support system determining the most efficient way to plan the itinerary of a CBT. In this research, we report on the ongoing development of a mobile application （app） and a website for tourists, hoteliers and travel agents to connect with city bus operators and book/purchase the best CBT both in terms of cost and time. Firstly, the CBT problem is formulated as an asymmetric sequential three-stage arc routing problem. All places of interest （poI） and pickup/dropout points are identified with arcs of the network （instead of nodes）, each of which can be visited at least once （instead of exactly once）. Secondly, the resulting pure integer programming （Ip） problem is solved using a leading optimization soft- ware known as General Algebraic Modeling System （GAMS）. The GAMS code developed for this project returns：（1） the exact optimal solution identifying the footprints of the city bus relative to all the arcs forming the minimal cost network; （2） the augmenting paths corre- sponding to the pickup stage, the poI visiting stage and the drop-off stage. Finally, we demonstrate the applicability of the mobile app/website via a pilot study in the city of Melbourne （Australia）. All the computations relative to the initial tests show that the ability of the app to answer users＇ inquiries in a fraction of a minute.

Objective: To investigate the fauna of a highly venomous marine species group, the cone snails(Family Conidae), in the shores of Qeshm Island, of evaluating the possibility of envenomation in the area and summarize recommendations for emergency first ***: Shores surrounding Qeshm Island were surveyed to collect cone snails during cold(February and March) and warm(May and June) seasons of 2017. Collected snails were identified to the species level. Abundance and species richness were estimated in shores of different structures, including muddy and sandy-rocky shores. Also, the most updated medical literature was reviewed to summarize related emergency first ***: Three cone snail species were recorded from southern sandy-rocky shores of the Island, in decreasing order of abundance, included crowned cone(Conus coronatus)(65%), feathered cone(Conus pennaceus)(28%), and frigid cone(Conus frigidus)(7%).Abundance of these species were significantly higher in cold season compared to the warm season(p ptoms ranging from minor local pain to systemic paralysis and death due to respiratory failure. We recommend an awareness programme for the seashore visiting public.

目的肿瘤外科医师对手术技术的改进，使乳腺癌切除术后残留的乳房形态得到改善。以背阔肌皮瓣行乳房再造术效果肯定。本研究将评估不同类型的用于乳房再造术的背阔肌皮瓣的皮岛设计，寻找一种广泛用于修复各种乳腺癌切除术后缺损的背阔肌皮瓣设计算法设计原则。方法本研究回顾性分析自2001年2月至2005年4月收治的单侧或双侧乳腺癌切除术后背阔肌皮瓣乳房再造患者的临床资料。在掌握如下情况的前提下进行再造手术：①术前组织是否经放疗处理；②体质量指数是否〉30；③当前有无吸烟习惯；④之前是否做过腹腔骨盆手术；⑤患者的要求。并对患者依据缺损形式进行分组：①乳房下皱襞完整但皮肤量不足；②乳房下皱襞完整且皮肤量足够；③乳房下皱襞缺损伴或不伴皮肤量不足。根据缺损的不同。设计不同的皮岛来优化手术效果，并减少供区瘢痕形成。结果本组患者54例，共应用64块背阔肌皮瓣行乳房再造术。各组间术后外观美学效果及供区瘢痕形成情况不同。结论本研究制定了一种背阔肌皮瓣乳房再造术的相关算法设计模式。通过对乳腺癌切除术后缺损的准确评价，在利用背阔肌皮瓣进行乳房再造术时，可定向切取皮岛，减少供区瘢痕形成，提高美学效果，获得疗效持久、外观自然、美观的乳房。
