Hydroxyapatite(HA)and its composites with inorganic additives,dopants,and polymers is a rapidly developing branch in the materials *** particular,carbon allotropes are widely used in these composites being widely applied for medical *** a gap of insufficient generalization of recent achievements in the field of the HA/Carbon composites,in this review we present the state of the art of the field of HA composites and hybrids with classic carbon allotropes and *** composites are known for carbon nanotubes,nanofibers,graphene and its oxidized forms,as well as,in a lesser grade,for graphite,fullerenes,nanodiamonds,carbon nanofoams,*** composites can be fabricated by a variety of classic and less-common methods,such as co-precipitation(with or without ultrasonic treatment),CvD,hot isostatic pressing,hydrothermal,spark plasma sintering,biomimetic mineralization,thermal and plasma spray,electrochemical and electrophoretic deposition,self-assembling,3D printing,electrospinning,and lyophilisation,among *** of various synthesis techniques can be also carried out for composite *** or synthetic HA can be used as it is for further interaction with carbon allotropes or it can be first prepared and then reacted with carbon counterpart;similarly,carbon allotropes can be introduced into the interaction with HA directly or they can be first synthesized,in particular from *** biocompatible composites can be produced in the form of coatings,powders,and scaffolds and can additionally contain quantitative amounts of third phases,frequently natural or synthetic *** these composites,especially with O-containing functionalizing groups,HA disadvantages could be considerably decreased with simultaneous enhancement of mechanical properties,becoming similar to human bone,chemical stability and biocompatibility,as well as possessing antibacterial ***→G reduction and higher HA decoration were obs

A spectral analysis of the vertical positions and velocities of 374 open star clusters(OSCs)was carried *** took these OSCs from the Hunt and Reffert catalog;they have an average age of about 10 million years,and are located on the galactic plane XY in a narrow zone inclined by 25°to the galactic axis *** following estimates of the parameters of the Radcliffe wave were obtained:(a)the maximum value in periodic perturbations of vertical coordinates Z_(max)=92±10pc with the wavelength of these perturbations λ_(z)=4.82±0.09 kpc;(b)the maximum value of the velocity of vertical disturbances Wmax=4.36±0.12km s^(-1) with disturbance wavelengthλ_(W)=1.78±0.02 *** that the results of the vertical velocity analysis are first-class in accuracy and completely new.

Background: Retinal vessels may provide information on cerebral vascular pathology, because they share many features with cerebral vessels. A smaller ratio of the retinal arteriolar-to-venular diameters reportedly predicts the risk of stroke. It is unclear if this is due to arteriolar narrowing or venular dilation. Objective: to investigate whether smaller arteriolar or larger venular diameters are related to the risk of stroke and cerebral infarction. methods: this study was based on the prospective population-based Rotterdam Study and included 5,540 participants of 55 years or over, who had gradable fundus transparencies and were free of stroke at baseline (1990 to 1993). For each participant, retinal arteriolar and venular diameters were measured on digitized images of one eye. Follow-up for first-ever stroke was complete until January 1, 2002. Results: After a mean follow-up of 8.5 years, 411 participants had a stroke, of whom 259 had cerebral infarction. Larger venular diameters were associated with an increased risk of stroke (hazard ratio [HR] adjusted for age and sex per SD increase: 1.12 [95%CI: 1.02 to 1.24]) and cerebral infarction (HR: 1.15 [95%CI: 1.02 to 1.29]). Smaller arteriolar diameters were neither related to the risk of stroke (HR per SD decrease: 1.02 [95%CI: 0.93 to 1.13]) nor to the risk of cerebral infarction (HR: 1.02 [95%CI: 0.90 to 1.15]). After additional adjustment for other cardiovascular risk factors, the results did not change. Conclusions: Larger retinal venular diameters are associated with an increased risk of stroke and cerebral infarction. the role of venules in cerebrovascular disease warrants further exploration.

the main goal of our study is to reveal unexpected but intriguing analogies arising between optical solitons and nuclear physics,which still remain hidden from *** consider the main cornerstones of the concept of nonlinear optics of nuclear reactions and the well-dressed repulsive-core *** the base of this model,we reveal the most intriguing properties of the nonlinear tunneling of nucleus-like solitons and the soliton selfinduced sub-barrier transparency *** describe novel interesting and stimulating analogies between the interaction of nucleus-like solitons on the repulsive barrier and nuclear sub-barrier *** main finding of this study concerns the conservation of total number of nucleons(or the baryon number)in nuclear-like soliton *** show that inelastic interactions among well-dressed repulsive-core solitons arise only when a“cloud”of“dressing”spectral side-bands appears in the frequency spectra of the *** property of nucleus-like solitons is directly related to the nuclear density distribution described by the dimensionless small shape-squareness *** the Fourier spectra of nucleus-like solitons are similar to the nuclear form *** show that the nuclear-like reactions between well-dressed solitons are realized by“exchange”between“particle-like”side bands in their spectra.

Fibrous dysplasia(FD)is a rare,disabling skeletal disease for which there are no established *** evidence supports inhibiting the osteoclastogenic factor receptor activator of nuclear kappa-B ligand(RANKL)as a potential treatment *** this study,we investigated the mechanisms underlying RANKL inhibition in FD tissue and its likely indirect effects on osteoprogenitors by evaluating human FD tissue pre-and post-treatment in a phase 2 clinical trial of denosumab(NCt03571191)and in murine in vivo and ex vivo preclinical *** analysis of human and mouse tissue demonstrated increased osteogenic maturation,reduced cellularity,and reduced expression of the pathogenic Gαs variant in FD lesions after RANKL *** sequencing of human and mouse tissue supported these *** interaction between osteoclasts and mutant osteoprogenitors was further assessed in an ex vivo lesion model,which indicated that the proliferation of abnormal FD osteoprogenitors was dependent on *** results from this study demonstrated that,in addition to its expected antiosteoclastic effect,denosumab reduces FD lesion activity by decreasing FD cell proliferation and increasing osteogenic maturation,leading to increased bone formation within *** findings highlight the unappreciated role of cellular crosstalk between osteoclasts and preosteoblasts/osteoblasts as a driver of FD pathology and demonstrate a novel mechanism of action of denosumab in the treatment of bone disease.
