Nature of Surface layer and Electrochemical Behavior of NaOH Hydrothermally treated Niti Alloy

Niti samples were hydrothermally treated in NaOH at 200℃ with different soaking times. the morphology of the surface layer formed was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). the composition of the layer and the major phases present were determined by energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD), respectively. In contrast to the results reported by some authors, the surface layer was essentially Ni(OH)2 instead of being tiO2. the electrochemical behavior of the samples was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 3.5% NaCl solution at 23℃, and analyzed using a simplified Randle circuit consisting of a resistance R and a capacitance C in parallel. After hydrothermal treatment, R was increased by a factor ranging from 1.5 to 5.0 times, depending on the treatment time. the value of R of all the samples became steady within a period of less than 15 h. Results of the present study indicate that alkaline treatment leads to the growth of an insulating layer on Niti, but the method is not suitable for surface modification of Niti implants due to the enhanced Ni content in the surface layer.

the sensitivity of the simulation of tropical cyclone （tC） size to microphysics schemes is studied using the Advanced Hurricane Weather Research and forecasting Model （WRf）. Six tCs during the 2013 western North pacific typhoon season and three mainstream microphysics schemes-ferrier （fER）, WRf Single-Moment 5-class （WSM5） and WRf Single-Moment 6-class （WSM6）-are investigated. the results consistently show that the simulated tC track is not sensitive to the choice of microphysics scheme in the early simulation, especially in the open ocean. However, the sensitivity is much greater for tC intensity and inner-core size. the tC intensity and size simulated using the WSM5 and WSM6 schemes are respectively higher and larger than those using the fER scheme in general, which likely results from more diabatic heating being generated outside the eyewall in rainbands. More diabatic heating in rainbands gives higher inflow in the lower troposphere and higher outflow in the upper troposphere, with higher upward motion outside the eyewall. the lower-tropospheric inflow would transport absolute angular momentum inward to spin up tangential wind predominantly near the eyewall, leading to the increment in tC intensity and size （the inner-core size, especially）. In addition, the inclusion of graupel microphysics processes （as in WSM6） may not have a significant impact on the simulation of tC track, intensity and size.

this paper reports a new simple four-dimensional（4 D） hyperjerk chaotic system. the proposed system has only one stable equilibrium point. Hence, its strange attractor belongs to the category of hidden attractors. the proposed system exhibits various dynamical behaviors including chaotic, periodic, stable nature, and coexistence of various attractors. Numerous theoretical and numerical methods are used for the analyses of this system. the chaotic behavior of the new system is validated using circuit implementation. further, the synchronization of the proposed systems is shown by designing an adaptive integrator backstepping controller. Numerical simulation validates the synchronization strategy.

In late March 2020,SARS-CoV-2 arrived in Manaus,Brazil,and rapidly developed into a large-scale epidemic that collapsed the local health system and resulted in extreme death *** key studies reported that∼76%of residents of Manaus were infected(attack rate AR≃76%)by October 2020,suggesting protective herd immunity had been *** this,an unexpected second wave of COVID-19 struck again in November and proved to be larger than the first,creating a catastrophe for the unprepared *** has been suggested that this could be possible if the second wave was driven by ***,it is widely reported that reinfections were at a low rate(before the emergence of Omicron),and reinfections tend to be ***,we use novel methods to model the epidemic from mortality data without considering reinfection-caused deaths and evaluate the impact of interventions to explain why the second wave *** method fits a“flexible”reproductive numberR_(0)(t)that changes over the epidemic,and it is demonstrated that the method can successfully reconstruct R_(0)(t)from simulated *** Manaus,the method finds AR≃34%by October 2020 for the first wave,which is far less than required for herd immunity yet in-line with seroprevalence *** work is complemented by a two-strain *** genomic data,the model estimates transmissibility of the new p.1 virus lineage as 1.9 times higher than that of the ***,an age class model variant that considers the high mortality rates of older adults show very similar *** models thus provide a reasonable explanation for the two-wave dynamics in Manaus without the need to rely on large reinfection rates,which until now have only been found in negligible to moderate numbers in recent surveillance efforts.

the microscopic damage initiation characteristic in welded joint greatly determines the subsequent damage evolution and fracture behavior of aluminum alloy tailor-welded blank(tWB) during plastic forming. In this study, the interactive dependence of void nucleation on microstructure and stress state in the welded joint of a2219 aluminum alloy tWB was quantitatively explored by in-situ SEM testing. Moreover, a micromechanical model based on actual microstructure was adopted to reveal the underlying mechanisms from the perspective of microscopic heterogeneous deformation. the results showed that three void nucleation mechanisms, including particle-cracking, interface-debonding and matrix-cracking, coexisted in the deformation at different microstructure regions and stress states. the nucleation strain of each mechanism mainly depended on the particle volume fraction, grain size and stress triaxiality. Besides, the proportions of particle-cracking and interfacedebonding greatly varied with the grain size and particle volume fraction, and the variation law changed with the stress state. the proportion of matrix-cracking had a weak dependence on the microstructure, while increased with the stress triaxiality decreasing. It made the damage initiation in aluminum alloy welded joint transit from particle-cracking dominance to matrix-cracking dominance with the stress triaxiality *** micromechanical modeling results suggested that the changes of evolutions and distributions of Mises stress in particle, hydrostatic stress at interface and plastic strain in matrix with microstructure and stress state were responsible for the above effects.

Un-doped and ZnAl_(x)O_(1.5x+1):0.1 mol%tb^(3+)(ZAOt)nano-powders were synthesized via citrate sol-gel *** AIx moles were varied in the range of 0.25≤x≤*** X-ray powder diffraction(XRD)data reveal that for xthe prepared samples crystal structure consists of mixed phases of the cubic ZnAl_(2)O_(4) and hexagonal ZnO phases,while for x>1.5 the structure consists of single phase of cubic ZnAl_(2)O_(4).the Raman and fourier-trans form infrared(ftIR)vibrational spectroscopy show the presence of vibrations emanating ZnAl_(2)O_(4) *** electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(tEM)show the presence of irregular sphere at x>2.0 attributed to ZnAl_(2)O_(4).the photoluminescence(pl)spectroscopy reveals emissions from both the host and tb^(3+)*** from tb^(3+)are observed at 382,414,439,458 nm and 489,545,585,621 nm,which were attributed to the^(5)D_(3)→^(7)f_(6,5,4,2) and ^(5^)D_(4)→^(7)f_(6,5,4,3),*** results confirm that the tb^(3+)occupation site depends on the Alx *** International Commission on Illumination(CIE)colour chromaticity shows that the emission colour can be tuned from blue to green by varying the AIx moles.

the luminosity for a WASA-at-COSY experiment involving the pd reaction at 2.14 GeV proton- beam energy is determined by the forward pd elastic scattering, which yields an average beam-on-target value of [5.2±0.3（stat）±0.3（syst）] × 10^30 s^-1 cm^-2. In addition, the forward pd elastic-scattering angular distribution is obtained with four-momentum transfer squared -t between 0.16 （GeV/c）2 and 0.78 （GeV/c）2 at this beam energy, which is compared with other experimental data and the pd double scattering model.
