l12-strengthened high entropy alloys(HEAs)with excellent room and high-temperature mechanical prop-erties have been proposed as promising candidates as structural materials for advanced nuclear ***,knowledge about their radiation response is fairly *** the present work,a novel HEA with a high density of l12 nanoparticles was irradiated with He ion at 500°*** electron microscope(tEM)and atom probe tomography(Apt)were employed to study the evolution of mi-crostructural stability and radiation-induced *** to the single-phase feCoNiCr HEA,the main microstructural features were numerous large faulted dislocation loops and helium *** the irradiation resistance of the present l12-strengthened HEA is much improved in terms of reduced bubble size,which could be attributed to the considerable He trapping efficiency of the coherent pre-cipitate/matrix interface and the enhanced capability of the interface for damage elimination when the matrix channel width is *** analysis revealed that an inverse-Kirkendall-mechanism-dominated radiation-induced segregation(RIS)occurs around bubbles,where a significant Co enrichment and Ni de-pletion can be clearly *** addition,the competing dynamics of ballistic mixing and elemental clustering that raised from the irradiation-enhanced diffusion in a highly supersaturated matrix,along with the low precipitation nucleation barrier due to the small lattice misfit,lead to a dynamical pre-cipitation dissolution and re-precipitation appears under *** a promising phenomenon is expected to promote a potential self-healing effect and could in turn provide a sustainable irradiation tolerance over the operational lifetime of a reactor.

Heusler compounds attract a great deal of attention from researchers thanks to a wealth of interesting properties,among which is *** we perform an extensive study of the superconducting and elastic properties of the cubic(full-)Heusler family using a mixture of ab initio methods,as well as interpretable and predictive machine-learning *** analyzing the statistical distributions of these properties and comparing them to anti-perovskites,we recognize universal behaviors that should be common to all conventional superconductors while others turn out to be specific to the material *** total,we discover a total of eight hypothetical materials with critical temperatures above 10 K to be compared with the current record of t_(c)=4.7 K in this ***,we expect most of these materials to be highly ductile,making them potential candidates for the manufacture of wires and tapes for superconducting magnets.

High order modes of intense second harmonic light produced from a plasma aperture

Because of their ability to sustain extremely high-amplitude electromagnetic fields and transient density and field profiles,plasma optical components are being developed to amplify,compress,and condition high-power laser *** recently demonstrated the potential to use a relativistic plasma aperture—produced during the interaction of a high-power laser pulse with an ultrathin foil target—to tailor the spatiotemporal properties of the intense fundamental and second-harmonic light generated[Duff et al.,***.10,105(2020)].Herein,we explore numerically the interaction of an intense laser pulse with a preformed aperture target to generate second-harmonic laser light with higher-order spatial *** maximum generation efficiency is found for an aperture diameter close to the full width at half maximum of the laser focus and for a micrometer-scale target *** spatial mode generated is shown to depend strongly on the polarization of the drive laser pulse,which enables changing between a linearly polarized tEM01 mode and a circularly polarized laguerre–Gaussian lG01 *** demonstrates the use of a plasma aperture to generate intense higher-frequency light with selectable spatial mode structure.

Examining the effect of the aging state on strength and plasticity of wrought aluminum alloys

A general rule of strength and plasticity was proposed for three typical wrought Al alloys(2xxx,6xxx,and 7xxx)subjected to different aging *** of the work-hardening processes and dislocation configurations in tensile and compressive testing reveal that this general rule arises because there is a common mechanism for these three kinds of wrought alloys whereby the tendency for cross-slip increases monotonously with aging *** analyzing the strain hardening exponent and the stacking fault energy,it is demonstrated that the change in the dislocation slip mode is attributed mainly to the formation of second phases rather than to the matrix ***,a new work-hardening model was proposed for wrought Al alloys containing second phases and this explains the interaction between dislocations and second phases and other relevant experimental *** work is therefore beneficial for quantitatively investigating and optimizing the strength and plasticity of wrought aluminum alloys.

肝纤维化病理特征是细胞外基质(ECM)沉积增多形成纤维间隔,是各类慢性肝病进展至肝硬化的中间病理环节,肝星状细胞(HSC)活化是肝纤维化中ECM产生的主要来源,然而HSC活化的机制尚未完全明确。因此,探究HSC从静息到活化状态的调控机制及其干预靶点具有重要意义。辣椒素受体(tRpV1)是一种瞬时受体电位通道,是热和辣椒素的分子传感器,参与疼痛生理和神经源性炎症,并且对非酒精性脂肪性肝炎有保护作用,这表明tRpV1在慢性肝病中具有潜在的研发价值。

the search for new biomarkers predictive of type 2 diabetes currently constitutes a research avenue in Bioclinical. total homocysteine remains a preferred target due to its involvement in the occurrence of degenerative complications in type 2 diabetics. the aim of this work was to study hyperhomocysteinemia and other biochemical markers associated with t2D in the Congolese population. this was an analytical case-control study carried out between October 2022 and October 2023. the study population consisted of 150 subjects including 100 t2D patients and 50 control subjects. the main clinical data were collected on a pre-established form. Homocysteine determination was carried out by the sandwich ElISA method. the other biochemical markers were measured by colorimetric enzymatic methods. Hyperhomocysteinemia was present in 27.3% (41/150) of the entire study population. type 2 diabetics had a frequency of hyperhomocysteinemia of 36% (36/100) and control 10% (5/50) (p = 0.001). the mean hyperhomocysteinemia concentration was 31.9 μmol/l with extremes ranging from 18 to 103 μmol/l. Means of biological markers between diabetics and controls showed a statistically significant difference (p = 0.01). the risk factors associated with this HHcy were: sex (OR = 3.5), age (OR = 9.4), sedentary lifestyle (OR = 3.4) and glycosylated hemoglobin (OR = 12) with a p-value pectively. Our results suggest that hyperhomocysteinemia can be considered as a predictive biomarker in the bioclinic of Congolese type 2 diabetic patients.

Improving Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking Resistance in a fe–18Cr–17Mn–2Mo–0.85N Austenitic Stainless Steel through Grain Boundary Character Distribution Optimization

the grain boundary character distribution(GBCD) optimization and its effect on the intergranular stress corrosion cracking(IGSCC) resistance in a cold-rolled and subsequently annealed fe-18 Cr-17 Mn-2 Mo-0.85 N high-nitrogen nickel-free austenitic stainless steel were systematically *** results show that stacking faults and planar slip bands appearing at the right amount of deformation(lower than 10%) are beneficial cold-rolled microstructures to the GBCD *** proportion of special boundaries gradually increases in the subsequent stages of recrystallization and grain growth,accompanying with the growth of twin-related domain in the experimental *** this way,the fraction of low ∑ coincidence site lattice(CSl) boundaries can reach as high as 82.85% for the specimen cold-rolled by 5% and then annealed at 1423 K for 72 *** GBCD optimization,low ∑ CSl boundaries and the special triple junctions(J2,J3) of high proportion can greatly hinder the nitride precipitation along grain boundaries and enhance the capability for intergranular crack arrest,thus improving the IGSCC resistance of the experimental steel.

Evaluation of the Efficacy of an Aloe barbadensis Based Biological Insecticide against pests of Abelmochus esculentus for promoting Ecological Agriculture (far-North, Cameroon)

Chemical insecticides have been considered as a means to combat crop pests. Although their effectiveness is evident, their impact on the environment is increasingly being discussed. the aim of this study is to determine the agro-ecological potential of a biological insecticide (C25H32O12) based on Aloe barbadensis in a Sahelian context. for this purpose, a completely randomized block experimental design with 3 replications and 4 treatments was set up to experiment with Aloe barbadensis as a bioinsecticide against pests of Abelmoschus esculentus. However, data were collected using an observation and parameter monitoring grid. this includes the cultivation of Abelmoschus esculentus, soil preparation, seeding and watering, plot labeling, preparation of the bioinsecticide (selection and preparation of raw materials, grinding of Aloe barbadensis miller and extraction of the crude bioinsecticide, quantification of treatment doses and dilution, and obtaining the formulated bioinsecticide), plant watering, plant treatment, and finally parameter monitoring. the results obtained reveal that the level of damage is significantly high in the control treatment t0 (63%) compared to the other treatments, with 29% for treatment t1, 7% for t2, and 1% for t3, implying a strong action capability of this insecticide against pests of Abelmoschus esculentus. therefore, it can be concluded that for a normal growing season of Abelmoschus esculentus, this biological insecticide should be sprayed 12 times. furthermore, this biological insecticide is unique in that it does not inflict any gastric toxicity on the pests, which gives it the characteristic of being a repellent. It is a biological insecticide whose efficacy period has been tested, with a minimum duration of 21 days. Combined with the topology optimization,additive manufacturing can be used to fabricate metal parts with complex ***,due to the geometrical variations and microstructure heterogeneities of the additively manufactured metal parts,new standards with the use of miniature specimens are required for the evalutation of the spatial distribution of mechanical properties throughout the ***,we conduct a systematic investigation on tensile and fatigue properties of selective laser melted Inconel718 specimens with different thicknesses ranging from 0.1 mm to 1 mm.A“microstructure unit”that can well reflect the microstructure characteristic of selective laser melted materials is *** results reveal that premature necking with a dramatic drop in uniform elongation occurs if the ratio(t/d)of specimen thickness(t)to the"microstructure unit"size(d)is less than *** necking is mainly attributed to the transition of strain localization *** also propose a probabilistic statistical model for fatigue limit prediction based on the available fatigue *** is recommended that the criterion of t/d≥4 should be satisfied to ensure that the yield strength,the uniform elongation,and the fatigue limit determined by the miniature specimens are comparable with those determined by standard *** findings may provdie a guide to the establishment of miniature specimen-based standards toward the qualification of additively manufactured metal parts.

the herd immunity against SARS-CoV-2 is continuously consolidated across the world during the ongoing ***,the potential function of the nonconserved epitopes in the reverse preexisting cross-reactivity induced by SARS-CoV-2 to other human coronaviruses is not well *** our research,we assessed t cell responses to both conserved and nonconserved peptides shared by SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV,identifying cross-reactive CD8^(+)t cell epitopes using enzyme-linked immunospot and intracellular cytokine staining ***,in vitro refolding and circular dichroism were performed to evaluate the thermal stability of the HlA/peptide ***,single-cell t cell receptor reservoir was analyzed based on tetramer ***,we discovered that cross-reactive t cells targeting SARS-CoV were present in individuals who had recovered from COVID-19,and identified SARS-CoV-2 CD8^(+)t cell epitopes spanning the major structural antigens.t cell responses induced by the nonconserved peptides between SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV were higher and played a dominant role in the cross-reactivity in COVID-19 ***-t cell reactivity was also observed within the identified series of CD8^(+)t cell *** representative immunodominant peptide pairs,although the HlA binding capacities for peptides from SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV were similar,the tCR repertoires recognizing these peptides were *** results could provide beneficial information for the development of peptide-based universal vaccines against coronaviruses.
