Tropical cyclone track and intensity prediction skill of GFS model over NIO during 2019&2020

The Tropical Cyclone(TC)track prediction using different NWp models and its verification is the critical task to provide prior knowledge about the model errors,which is beneficial for giving the model guidance-based real-time cyclone warning *** study has attempted to verify the Global Forecast System(GFS)model forecasted tropical cyclone track and intensity over the North Indian Ocean(NIO)for the years 2019 and *** is one of the operational models in the India Meteorological Department(IMD),which provides the medium-range weather forecast up to 10 *** forecasted tracks from the GFS forecast are obtained using a vortex tracker developed by Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory(GFDL).A total of 13 tropical cyclones formed over the North Indian Ocean,eight during 2019 and five in 2020 have been considered in this *** accuracy of the model predicted tracks and intensity is verified for five days forecasts(120 h)at 6-h intervals;the track errors are verified in terms of Direct position Error(DpE),Along Track Error(ATE)and Cross-Track Error(CTE).The annual mean DpE over NIO during 2019(51–331 km)is lower than 2020(82–359 km),and the DpE is less than 150 km up to 66 h during 2019 and 48 h during *** positive ATE(76–332 km)indicates the predicted track movement is faster than the observed track during both *** positive CTE values for most forecast lead times suggest that the predicted track is towards the right side of the observed track during both *** cyclone Intensity forecast for the maximum sustained wind speed(Max WS)and central mean sea level pressure(MSLp)are verified in terms of mean error(ME)and root mean square error(RMSE).The errors are lead time ***,most of the time model under-predicted the cyclone intensity during both ***,there is a significant variance in track and intensity errors from the cyclone to cyclone and Bay of Bengal basin to the Arabian Sea basin.

BHLM:Bayesian theory-based hybrid learning model for multi-document summarization

In order to understand and organize the document in an efficient way,the multidocument summarization becomes the prominent technique in the Internet *** the information available is in a large amount,it is necessary to summarize the document for obtaining the condensed *** perform the multi-document summarization,a new Bayesian theory-based Hybrid Learning Model(BHLM)is proposed in this ***,the input documents are preprocessed,where the stop words are removed from the ***,the feature of the sentence is extracted to determine the sentence score for summarizing the *** extracted feature is then fed into the hybrid learning model for ***,learning feature,training error and correlation coefficient are integrated with the Bayesian model to develop ***,the proposed method is used to assign the class label assisted by the mean,variance and probability ***,based on the class label,the sentences are sorted out to generate the final summary of the *** experimental results are validated in MATLAB,and the performance is analyzed using the metrics,precision,recall,F-measure and *** proposed model attains 99.6%precision and 75%rouge-1 measure,which shows that the model can provide the final summary efficiently.

This paper focuses on a theoretical analysis of a steady two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow of a Maxwell fluid over an exponentially stretching surface in the presence of velocity slip and convective boundary *** model is used for a nanofluid,which incorporates the effects of Brownian motion and *** resulting non-linear partial differential equations of the governing flow field are converted into a system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations by using suitable similarity transformations,and the resultant equations are then solved numerically by using Runge-Kutta fourth order method along with shooting technique.A parametric study is conducted to illustrate the behavior of the velocity,temperature and *** influence of significant parameters on velocity,temperature,concentration,skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number has been studied and numerical results are presented graphically and in tabular *** reported numerical results are compared with previously published works on various special cases and are found to be an in excellent *** is found that momentum boundary layer thickness decreases with the increase of magnetic *** can also be found that the thermal boundary layer thickness increases with Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameters.

CCR5A32 mutation does not influence the susceptibility to HCV infection, severity of liver disease and response to therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C

AIM： To study whether CCR5△32 mutation was associated with viral infection and severity of liver disease. METHODS： Two hundred and fifty two histologically proven, chronic HCV patients （mean age： 41±14 years; M/F： 164/88） were genotyped. pCR based genotyping of 32 bp deletion at the CCR5 locus was done. Fourhundred and eight matched healthy controls were studied to assess susceptibility to HCV infection. To assess correlation of immune gene polymorphism with severity of HCV related liver disease, patients with chronic HCV infection were divided into those with a fibrosis score of ≤ 2 （mild） or 〉 2 （severe） and histological activity index （HAI） of ≤ 5 or 〉 5. For correlation between CCR5△32 mutations and response to therapy, 129 patients who completed therapy were evaluated. RESULTS： The majority （89.4%） of the patients were infected with genotype 3. The frequency of homozygous CCR5△32 mutants was comparable to HCV patients as compared to the healthy controls （0.7% vs 0%, p = 0.1）. Further more, the frequency of CCR5△32 mutation was comparable in patients with mild or severe liver disease.（p = NS）. There was also no association observed with response to therapy and CCR5△32 mutation. CONCLUSION： CCR5△32 mutation does not have a role in disease susceptibility, severity or response to therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C infection.

Understanding the Role of Monsoon Depressions on Intraseasonal Oscillations over Indian Sub-Continent

Summer monsoon and its synoptic, meso-scale systems provide 80% of total annual rainfall over India. Monsoon depressions are weak, low-pressure circulation within the monsoon trough that forms in the head Bay of Bengal and moves northwestward and westward across the Indian sub-continent during summer monsoon season. Another convective system from this planetary scale circulation is the Intraseasonal Oscillation (ISO) also occurs in the daily mode. It is very important to study the impact of monsoon depressions in synoptic scale on ISOs through its strength, frequency and duration. In the recent decades, frequency of monsoon depressions and sea surface temperature over head Bay is decreasing while the intensity is increasing over Bay of Bengal. The study brings out the relationship between the ISOs and monsoon depressions over Bay of Bengal through their structure and movement for the period 1990-2014. Composites of monsoon and no monsoon depression days are calculated and found that rainfall is mainly occupied over Kerala and Interior peninsula within the range of 10 - 50 cm during monsoon depression days. Relative vorticity brings out that the shallower layer of convergence mainly from 1000 - 850 hpa level and a deeper layer of weak divergence above it is mainly associated with the depression. Next, thermodynamic structure of monsoon depression and its intensity is directly proportional to the increasing of CApE. Wavelet spectrum also indicates the intraseasonal oscillations are very active during monsoon depression days. Finally this study helps to bring out plausible reasons through circulations, dynamic and thermodynamic characteristics involved in monsoon depression days in association with the ISOs.

Machines,Tools and Tool Transporter Concurrent Scheduling in Multi⁃machine FMS with Alternative Routing Using Symbiotic Organisms Search Algorithm

This study explored the concurrent scheduling of machines, tools, and tool transporter(TT) with alternative machines in a multi-machine flexible manufacturing system(FMS), taking into mind the tool transfer durations for minimization of the makespan(MSN). When tools are expensive, just a single copy of every tool kind is made available for use in the FMS system. Because the tools are housed in a central tool magazine(CTM), which then distributes and delivers them to many machines, because there is no longer a need to duplicate the tools in each machine, the associated costs are avoided. Choosing alternative machines for job operations(jb-ons), assigning tools to jb-ons, sequencing jb-ons on machines, and arranging allied trip activities, together with the TT’s loaded trip times and deadheading periods, are all challenges that must be overcome to achieve the goal of minimizing MSN. In addition to a mixed nonlinear integer programming(MNLIp) formulation for this simultaneous scheduling problem, this paper suggests a symbiotic organisms search algorithm(SOSA) for the problem’s solution. This algorithm relies on organisms’ symbiotic interaction strategies to keep living in an ecosystem. The findings demonstrate that SOSA is superior to the Jaya algorithm in providing solutions and that using alternative machines for operations helps bring down MSN.

Disinfectant for Urinary Infection Caused by <i>Escherichia coli</i>by Using Natural Oils

According to the WHO analysis, antibacterial treatment which is preferred for treating peptic ulcers and oral health problems are considered as a major improvement in the treatment but are responsible for several health problems that include vomiting, diarrhea and the increase in the bacterial resistance is a major concern. So, there is an urgent need for a good therapeutic alternative which is effective. Usage of essential oils to treat different ailments is found to be extremely effective with no side effects. Thus, essential oils are gaining importance in treatments due to their antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal properties. Essential oils are also used as aroma therapeutic agents. They are complex mixture of low molecular weight compounds that include terpenoids, phenylpropanoids, oxygenated derivatives (aldehydes, ketones, alcohols, esters) which greatly differ in composition in different essential oils are the major components present. The bioactive properties and their medical potential are widely used in pharmaceutical industries. In this study, we use these essential oils to prepare a disinfectant and analyze the antimicrobial properties using the agar diffusion method. Our major concern in this study is to decrease the growth of Escherichia coli which causes urinary infection, by using disinfectant prepared using a mixture of essential oils of particular concentration.
