principles of molecular self-assembly into giant hierarchical structures of hundreds of micrometers in size are studied in aggregates of meso-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphine(TppS_(4)).The aggregates form a central tubular core,which is covered with radially protruding filamentous non-branching *** filaments cluster and orient at varying angles from the core surface and some filaments form *** to shape resemblance,the structures are termed giant sea urchin(GSU)*** resolved fluorescence microscopy reveals J-and H-bands of TppS_(4)aggregates in both the central core and the *** fluorescence of the core is quenched while filaments exhibit strong *** drying,the filament fluorescence gets quenched while the core is less affected,showing stronger relative *** linear dichroism(FDLD)microscopy reveals that absorption dipoles corresponding to J-bands are oriented along the filament *** comparison of FDLD with scanning electron microscopy(SEM)reveals the structure of central core comprised of multilayer ribbons,which wind around the core axis forming a *** second-harmonic generation(SHG)and thirdharmonic generation microscopy exhibits strong signal from the filaments with nonlinear dipoles oriented close to the filament axis,while central core displays very low SHG due to close to centrosymmetric *** chiral nonlinear susceptibility points to helical arrangement of the *** investigation shows that TppS_(4)molecules form distinct aggregate types,including chiral nanotubes and nanogranular aggregates that associate into the hierarchical GSU structure,prototypical to complex biological *** chiral TppS_(4)aggregates can serve as harmonophores for nonlinear microscopy.

An eight-compartment model of the energy dynamics of an alpine meadow-sheep grazing ecosystem was proposed based on SHIYOMI's system approach. The compartments were the above-ground plant portion, the underground live portion including roots, the underground dead portion including roots, the above-ground litter Ⅰ (degradable portion), the above-ground litter Ⅱ (undegradable portion), the sheep intake, the sheep liveweight, and the faeces. Energy flows between the eight compartments were described by eight simultaneous differential equations. All parameters in the model were determined from paddock experiments. The model was designed to provide a practical method for estimating the effects of the number of rotational grazing subplots, grazing period, and grazing pressure on the performance of grazing systems for perennial alpine meadow pasture. The model provides at least 28 different attributes for characterizing the performance of the grazing system. Analyses of 270 simulated rotational grazing systems of summer-autumn meadow pasture (grazing from 1st June to 30 October each year) provided an inference base to support two recommendations concerning management variables. First, with a three-paddock, 29-day grazing period and 30.14kJ·m -2 ·day -1 grazing pressure scheme, the system has the highest total grazing intake, 4250.44kJ·m -2 , during the grazing season. Secondly, with a three-paddock, 7-day grazing period and 28.89kJ·m -2 ·day -1 grazing pressure scheme, the accumulated graze is 4073.34kJ·m -2 . The potential productivity of the alpine meadow under grazing is defined in this paper as the maximal dry biomass of herbage grazed by the grazing animals over the whole growing season. It has been analysed by applying optimal control theory to the model. The productivity is regarded as the objective function to be maximized through optimization of the time course of the grazing pressure, the control variable. The results

As a consequence of mining, heavy metal ions can be exposed to the environment hence contaminate ground water and surface water amongst others. The natural polymer chitosan was proved to be an excellent adsorber material for the effective removal of iron and sulfate ions in batch as well as in column experiments. The adsorption behavior of iron ions, as well as sulfate ions was investigated by utilizing chitosan flakes as a natural adsorbent. The removal was studied using adsorbance measurements, SEM and SEM-EDX. The adsorption capacity of chitosan was determined at different times. The received adsorption capacities for iron ions were very promising with a maximum adsorption capacity of 85 mg/g and a rate of separation of 100%. The maximum adsorption capacity obtained for sulfate ions was 188.8 mg/g and a rate of 80%.

In this paper, we investigate the loss caused by multiple humans blocking millimeter wave frequencies. We model human blockers as absorbing screens of infinite height with two knife-edges, We take a physical optics approach to computing the diffraction around the absorbing screens, This approach differs to the geometric optics approach described in much of the literature. The blocking model is validated by measuring the gain from multiple-human blocking configurations on an indoor link. The blocking gains predicted using piazzi ＇ s numerical integration method （a physical optics method） agree well with measurements taken from approximately 2.7 dB to -50 dB. Thereofre, this model is suitable for real human blockers, The mean prediction error for the method is approximately -1.2 dB, and the standard deviation is approximately 5 dB.

Assessing the Effect of Farmers＇ Supplementation Strategy on Feed Intake and Liveweight of Goats Grazing Natural Range and Crop Fields of Zamfara Reserve in Semi-Arid Nigeria

This on-farm study was conducted in Zamfara reserve of north western Nigeria between July, 2002 and June, 2003 to assess feed intake and liveweight of 12 indigenous Red Sokoto castrated bucks, separated into two groups of six, supplemented and nonsupplemented respectively. The nonsupplemented group grazed natural pasture and crop stubble of crop fields, whereas the supplemented group grazed natural pasture, crop stubbles and received concentrate supplementation. Concentrate supplement （wheat offal） was fed at 1% of the metabolic weight of the animals which corresponds to the mean of the farmers offer. The total faecal collection method and grab samples of feed were used to estimate total intake of dry matter （DM）, organic matter （OM）, crude protein （Cp） and metabolizable energy （ME）. Liveweight of the animal was recorded at five weekly intervals. Results of the study indicated that nutrients intake of supplemented animals were generally higher than those of the nonsupplemented group, but not significantly different （p 〉 0.05）. However, it was observed that supplementation significantly （p 〈 0.05） affected the liveweight of the supplemented bucks during early dry season in December, During this period feed became more available to the grazing animals from crop residues. It was therefore concluded that supplementation with wheat offal at 1% metabolic weight may not be enough to counteract weight loss of grazing goats during the other periods of dry season in this environment.

设计了123Ⅰ和99Tcm标记的吲哚类σ2受体肿瘤放射性示踪剂,合成了其稳定化合物(Indole-Ⅰ和Indole-MAMA-Re)和标记前体(Indole-MAMA)。体外受体结合分析结果表明,化合物Indole-Ⅰ对σ1和σ2受体的抑制常数Ki值分别为(0.574±0.355)μmol/L和(0.162±0.030)μmol/L(n=3),Indole-MAMA-Re对σ1和σ2受体的抑制常数Ki值分别为(3.75±2.22)μmol/L和(7.83±4.87)μmol/L(n=3)。成功制备了99Tcm-Indole-MAMA,纯化后经高效液相色谱法(HpLC)分析其放化纯大于90%。今后可在本文化合物的基础上通过结构优化,设计合成对σ2受体具有高亲和力和选择性的吲哚类SpECT肿瘤显像剂。
