Continuous segregation of binary heterogeneous solids （different density mixtures） is carried out in a gas-solid fluidized bed to study the effects of gas velocity, solids feed rate, feed comp.s.t.on and density difference of solids on the separation factor （recovery of flotsam at top outlet） and the quality of the product （purity of flotsam at top outlet） in a continuous fast-fluidized bed. the holdup of the bed material is obtained in each experimental run. It is observed that the separation factor decreases with increase in solids feed rate or density difference of solids, and increases with gas velocity or proportion of flotsam in the feed. the quality of the product decreases with increase in gas velocity or solids flow rate, and increases with feed comp.s.t.on or density difference of solids. the experimental results show that the separation factor and the quality of the product are more sensitive to gas velocity than to other operating parameters, Empirical correlations for predicting the separation factor and quality of the product are proposed based on the Richards model for individual flotsam mass fraction in the feed, and the predictions agree satisfactorily with the present exlgerimental data,

the underlying physics of QCD phase transition in the early Universe remains largely unknown due to its strong-coupling nature during the quark-gluon plasma/hadron gas transition, yet a holographic model has been proposed to quantitatively fit the lattice QCD data while with its duration of the first-order phase transition(Fopt) left undetermined. At specific baryon chemical potential, the first-order QCD phase transition agrees with the observational constraint of baryon asymmetry. It, therefore, provides a scenario for phase transition gravitational waves(GWs) within the standard model of particle physics. If these background GWs could contribute dominantly to the recently claimed common-spectrum red noise from pulsar timing array(ptA) observations, the duration of this Fopt can be well constrained, and the associated primordial black holes are still allowed by current observations.

silk damping is well known in the study of cosmic microwave background（CMB） and accounts for suppression of the angular power spectrum of CMB on large angular multipoles. In this article, we study the effect of silk damping on the scalar-induced gravitational waves（sIGWs）. Resulting from the dissipation of cosmic fluid, the silk damping notably suppresses the energydensity spectrum of sIGWs on scales comparable to a diffusion scale at the decoupling time of weakly-interacting particles. the effect offers a novel observable for probing the underlying particle interaction, especially for those mediated by heavy gauge bosons beyond the standard model of particles. We anticipate that pulsar timing arrays are sensitive to gauge bosons with mass ～10～3-10～4 GeV, while space-and ground-based interferometers to those with mass ～10～7-1012GeV, leading to essential complements to on-going and future experiments of high-energy physics.

A recent case report provided a patient scenario,wherein,a 39-year-old male patient presented with occasional palpitations,headache,and *** of tumor markers did not show any abnormal ***,a computed tomography(Ct)scan was undertaken,and its findings were affirmative of thymic ***,the postoperative histopathological assessment of the mass,after its resection,confirmed it as an anterior mediastinal multilocular thymic cyst(MtC),with concurrent acute upper respiratory tract infection and acute ***,this case report advocates the need for a preoperative histopathological examination with Ct imaging to minimize the risk of confusing an MtC with a malignant thymic tumor.

Auroral Kilometric Radiation(AKR)is a common radio emission,which can contribute to the magnetosphere−ionosphere−atmosphere *** emissions have been observed in all magnetic planet magnetospheres of the solar *** this study,using observations from the FAst satellite from 30 August 1996 to 9 september 2001,the distribution of AKR in altitude=500−4500 km and invariant latitude(|ILAt|)=60°−80°has been analyzed.63045 AKR samples have been identified with~48%(52%)samples on the dayside(nightside).Of considerable interest,there is a distinct MLt asymmetry with the high occurrence rate in MLt=05−08 and 18−22(02−05 and 12−17)in the northern(southern)*** distinct MLt asymmetry is associated with the direction of Bxof the interplanetary magnetic *** addition,the occurrence rate on the nightside clearly increases as the index *** study further enriches *** and understanding of AKR in the magnetosphere as well as other similar radio emissions.

Numerical predictions are made for Laminar Forced convection heat transfer with and without buoyancy effects for supercritical Nitrogen flowing over an isothermal horizontal flat plate with a heated surface facing *** are performed by varying the value ofΔt from5 to 30 K and p_(∞)/p_(cr)ratio from1.1 to *** of all the thermophysical properties of supercritical Nitrogen is *** wall temperatures are chosen in such a way that two values of tw are less than t∗(t*is the temperature at which the fluid has a maximum value of Cp for the given pressure),one value equal to t∗and two values greater than t∗.three different values of U∞are used to obtain Re∞range of 3.6×10_(4)to 4.74×10^(5)for forced convection without buoyancy effects and Gr_(∞)/Re^(2)_(∞)range of 0.011 to 3.107 for the case where buoyancy effects are *** different forms of correlations are proposed based on numerical predictions and are compared with actual numerical *** has been found that in all six forms of correlations,the maximum deviations are found to occur in those cases where the pseudocritical temperature tt∗lies between the wall temperature and bulk fluid temperature.

In this study, an attempt is made to determine the interaction effect of two closely spaced strip footings using pasternak model. the study considers small strain problem and has been performed using linear as well as nonlinear elastic analysis to determine the interaction effect of two nearby strip footings. the hyperbolic stress-strain relationship has been considered for the nonlinear elastic analysis. the linear elastic analysis has been carried out by deriving the equations for the interference effect of the footings in the framework of pasternak model equation; whereas, the nonlinear elastic analysis has been performed using the finite difference method to solve the second order nonlinear differential equation evolved from pasternak model with proper boundary conditions. Results obtained from the linear and the nonlinear elastic analysis are presented in terms of non-dimensional interaction factors by varying different parameters like width of the foundation, load on the foundation and the depth of the rigid base. Results are suitably compared with the existing values in the literature.

this paper deals with the recovery of ilmenite mineral from red sediments of badlands topography and suggested flowsheet with material *** results of these investigations reveal that the red sediment samples contain 33.2%total heavy mineral,in which ilmenite mineral concentrate is 28.71%(by weight).the ilmenite concentrate recovered from red sediment sample by physical benefciation process,which included scrubbing,desliming,gravity concentration,magnetic and electrostatic separation,contains 99.41%grade with 97.3%*** ilmenite mineral concentrate recovered from red sediments is also suitable for industrial *** characterization studies on ilmenite reveal that the tiO2percentage is marginally increasing from 46.69%to 47.86%with increasing magnetic intensity from0.46 to 1.55 t.
