＜正＞ The objective of this research is to develop a unified next generation atmospheric general circulation model （AGCM） , a component of the Climate System Model （CSM）, with flexible configurations, such as, non-hydrostatic/hydrostatic, variable/uniform resolution and regional/global run options. Based on Navies - Stocks equations, the fully compressible and non-hydrostatic dynamics are explicitly incorporated in the governing atmospheric formulations. In general, the dynamic core is the same as the model which has been developed in an undergoing national key project in CNpr/CAMS: Global / regional Assimilation and prediction Enhanced System（GrApES） for Numerical Weather prediction. The new dynamic core will be a weather-climate unified *** the new dynamic core, the non-hydrostatic equations are considered in Lagrangian-advection form and the terrain- following height is used as a vertical coordinate. A switch - on/off coefficient is specified for options of non - hydrostatic and hydrostatic runs. The Arakawa-C grid is applied in the horizontal discretization, and Charney-phillips method is used in vertical variable arrangement. The semi-implicit and semi -Lagrangian （SISL） time-stepping algorithm is employed to enable the time step to exceed the limits imposed by the CFL stability criterion and fast modes propagation. To avoid an explicit treatment of the metric terms due to spherical curvature in the momentum equations, a three-dimensional vector discretization is applied on the momentum *** the first phase of this work, the dynamic core was validated to examine the model convergence, stability, long time integration behavior. Special attention is paid on the treatment of polar singularity, sphericalpolar aspects of the departure-point. The balanced flow and cross polar flow experiments are necessary to confirm the model’s correction. The dust transport and sediment characteristics are discussed based onanalysis of mi-croparticle size and size distribution in the Muztagata ice core at 6350 m a.s.I. Thefiner particles with diameter of 1—5 μm are the dominant fraction in number, while middle andcoarse particles mainly contribute to the total volume. The lognormal distribution characteristicscan be seen for some high concentration samples, showing that model size and standard variation aregreater than that in the Greenland ice cores. However, size-volume distribution of some lowconcentration samples is abnormal. Those distributions reflect the dust deposit process in highmountain glaciers at mid-low latitudes and show differences from those in polar ice sheet.

Charged particles’ diffusion mechanism is one of outstanding problem in the astrophysics. recently, Matthaeus et al. （ApJ 2003） developed a nonlinear guiding center theory （NLGC） of perpendicular diffusion of charged energetic particles with parallel diffusion coefficient as an input, which agrees with numerical simulations. In addition, Qin （ApJ 2007） developed a nonlinear parallel diffusion theory （NLpA） which if combined with NLGC could be used to solve parallel and perpendicular diffusion simultaneously. However, both of the NLGC and NLpA are in the forms of integral equation and not easy to be adopted in cosmic ray transport models. So that Zank et al. （JGr 2004） provided an approximate solution of NLGC. The solution agrees with the exact solution of the NLGC results very well. In this work we will adopt the similar method from Zank et al. （2004）to approximately solve the NLpA （Qin 2007） so that the solution of both parallel and perpendicular nonlinear diffusion coefficients can be included in numerical codes for cosmic rays transport simultaneously.

＜正＞This paper describes an investigation of the seasonality and quasi-stationary feature of precipitation variation in china associated with the tropical pacific sea surface temperature （SST）. The correlation analysis of precipitation anomalies with respect to an objective ENSO index shows that drought conditions prevail in northern china and excessive rains occur in southern china in seasons of the warm phase of ENSO, namely with positive SST anomalies in the equatorial eastern pacific, and opposite anomalies of precipitation in the cold phase of ENSO. The ENSO-related precipitation variation in the Yangtze river Valley （central china） has some uncertainty.

Wave decomposition phenomenon and spectrum evolution over submerged bars are investigated by a previously developed numerical model. First, the computed free surface displacements of regular waves at various locations are compared with the available experimental data to confirm the validity of the numerical model, and satisfactory agreements are obtained. In addition, variations of decomposition characteristics with incident wave parameters and the change of energy spectrum for regular waves are also studied. Then the spectrum evolution of irregular waves over submerged bars, as well as the influence of incident peak wave period and the steepness of the front slope of the bar on spectrum evolution, is investigated. Wave decomposition and spectral shape are found to be significantly influenced by the incident wave conditions. When the upslope of the bar becomes 1：2, the length of the slope becomes shorter and will not benefit the generation of high frequency energy, so spectrum evolution is not significant.

＜正＞A data assimilation system （DAS） was developed for the chinese Unified Atmospheric Chemistry Environment-Dust （CUACE/Dust） forecast system and applied in the operational forecasts of sand and dust storm （SDS） in spring *** system is based on a three dimensional variational method （3D-Var） and uses extensively the measurements of surface visibility and dust loading retrieval from the chinese geostationary satellite *** results show that a major improvement to the capability of CUACE/Dust in forecasting the short-term variability in the spatial distribution and intensity of dust concentrations has been achieved,especially in those areas far from the source *** seasonal mean Threat Score （TS） over the East Asia in spring 2006 increased from 0.22 to 0.31 by using the data assimilation system, a 41% *** assimilation results usually agree with the dust loading retrieved from FY-2C and visibility distribution from surface meteorological stations, which indicates that the 3D-Var method is very powerful for the unification of observation and numerical modeling results.

The observations of total dissolved CO2 (TCO2) in surface water on the range from 115°E to 165°E,from 10°S to 20°N from Dec. 1986 to Jun. 1990, present following results: There was distinguished difference of distribution of TCO2 between during El Nino and La Nina, especially on east of 155° E and equator. During El Nino TCO2 was the lowest (TCO2, 1 900 μmol/kg) in seven cruises and proportional to salinity, the dominant effect of current was from North Equatorial Current (NEC). During La Nina the value of TCO2 became the highest (TCO2 >1 900 μmol/kg) in range of Equatorial Upwelling, the dominant effect was from South Equatorial Current. The effect of air-sea exchange and biological activity increased. The types of distribution and interannual variations of TCO2 in 110 single stations and 23 small areas, the characteristics of relationship among TCO2, pCO2, S, SST during El Nino and La Nina are discussed in this *** above results it is clear that TCO2 is a useful observational quantity, which reflects the alteration of atmosphere-sea system and the change of surface currents, air-sea exchange and biological activity caused by this alteration.

Model simulation is an important way to study the effects of climate change on *** assessment is subject to a range of uncertainties because of either incomplete knowledge or model technical uncertainties,impeding effective decision-making to climate *** the basis of uncertainties in the impact assessment at different levels,this article systematically summarizes the sources and propagation of uncertainty in the assessment of the effect of climate change on agriculture in terms of the climate projection,the assessment process,and the crop models linking to climate ***,techniques and methods focusing on different levels and sources of uncertainty and uncertainty propagation are introduced,and shortcomings and insufficiencies in uncertainty processing are pointed ***,in terms of how to accurately assess the effect of climate change on agriculture,improvements to further decrease potential uncertainty are suggested.
