The temperature-dependent effective thermal conductivity of UN-X-Uo_(2)(X=Mo,W)nuclear fuel composite was *** the experimental design,the thermal conductivity was calculated using Finite Element Modeling(FEM),and compared with analytical models for 10%,30%,50%,and 70%(in mass)uncoated/coated UN microspheres in a Uo2 *** FEM results show an increase in the fuel thermal conductivity as the mass fraction of the UN microspheres increases from 1.2 to 4.6 times the Uo2 reference at 2,000 *** results from analytical models agree with the thermal conductivity estimated by *** results also show that Mo and W coatings have similar thermal behaviors,and the coating thickness influences the thermal conductivity of the *** higher weight fractions,the thermal conductivity of the fuel composite at room temperature is substantially influenced by the high thermal conductivity coatings approaching that of ***,the thermal conductivity from FEM was used in the fuel thermal performance evaluation during LWR normal operation to calculate the maximum centerline *** results show a significant decrease in the fuel maximum centerline temperature ranging from−94 K for 10% UN to−414 K for 70%(in mass)UN compared to Uo2 under the same operating conditions.

There is considerable concern about the potential impact of climate change on agriculture, such as the accumulation of chilling hours needed to break the dormancy of many perennial plants, like fruit trees. Therefore, this study aimed to determine if there had been a significant change in air temperatures and chill hours, chill units, and chill portion accumulation in South Carolina over the last two decades. Two decades of daily maximum (Tmax) and minimum (Tmin) air temperature records were obtained from weather stations in thirty-one counties in South Carolina. Hourly temperature data, reconstructed from the daily data, were used to calculate the daily and annual chill hours, chill units, and chill portions accumulation using four different chill models for each location and year. The chill models included the T(t) °C model, the 0°C °C model, the Utah model, and the Dynamic model. For each county, regression analyses were conducted to evaluate the historical trends. Despite year-to-year variability, the tendency was a statistically significant (α = 0.05) increase in air temperature, averaging 0.089°C per year for 20 out of 31 counties in South Carolina. The other 11 counties had no significant change in temperature. The average temperature increase in the 31 counties was 0.072°C per year. The temperature increase resulted in a decrease in annual chill accumulation during the fall to spring, averaging 17.7 chill hours, 8.6 chill hours, 17.0 chill units, and 0.40 chill portions per year calculated with the T(t) °C, 0°C °C, Utah, and Dynamic models, respectively. However, whether this decrease in chill values was statistically significant or not depended on the chill model used. This study did not investigate the cause of the observed historical trends in temperature and chill accumulation. Still, if the trends continue, they could significantly impact the future of the temperate fruit tree industry in the state.

A procedure for Trisecting an Acute Angle (Method 2)

This paper presents an alternate graphical procedure (Method 2), to that presented in earlier publications entitled, “A procedure for Trisecting an Acute Angle” and “A Key to Solving the Angle Trisection problem”. The procedure, when applied to the 30˚ and 60˚ angles that have been “proven” to be nottrisectable and the 45˚ benchmark angle that is known to be trisectable, in each case produced a construction having an identical angular relationship with Archimedes’ Construction, as in Section 2 on THEoRY of this paper, where the required trisection angle was found to be one-third of its respective angle (i.e. DE’MA = 1/3 DE’CG). For example, the trisection angle for the 30˚, 45˚ and 60˚ angles were 10.00000˚, 15.00000˚, and 20.00000˚, respectively, and Section 5 on pRooF in this paper. Therefore, based on this identical angular relationship and the numerical results (i.e. to five decimal places), which represent the highest degree of accuracy and precision attainable by The Geometer’s Sketch pad software, one can only conclude that not only the geometric requirements for arriving at an exact trisection of the 30˚ and 60˚ angle (which have been “proven” to be not-trisectable) have been met, but also, the construction is valid for any arbitrary acute angle, despite theoretical proofs to the contrary by Wantzel, Dudley, and others.

D-allulose, also known by the name D-psicose or just allulose, is a rare keto-sugar epimer of D-fructose in the third carbon (C3), and naturally occurs in small quantity in fruits such as grapes and figs. It is low calorie sweetener produced enzymatically from D-fructose by enzymes D-ketose 3-epimerase (DKEase) family. D-allulose has a similar taste, texture and functionality as sweetener comparing to high calorie sweetener sugar table sucrose. D-allulose is poorly metabolized in the body with minimal impact on blood sugar levels making it a natural low-calorie sweetener. This property makes D-allulose an attractive sweetener for diabetes and for body weight management. Laboratory studies on D-allulose intake demonstrated its safety with no significant adverse effects. United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted D-allulose the status of Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS). plus, it is considered safe for human consumption by regulatory organizations in other countries except in European Union due to their request for further laboratory testing. Maximum acceptable daily intake of D-allulose is 0.9 grams per kilogram body weight. Excessive intake for more than the recommended daily intake could lead to some side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort or laxative effects. In general, D-allulose is considered one of the preferred natural low calories sweeteners for those seeking an alternative to table sugar sucrose.
