MEASUREMENT OF pH AND CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF RAIN WATER IN RURAL AREA OF INDIA

Large number of rain water samples, at 7 rural locations in the semi-arid region of the Deccanplateau were collected during 4 consecutive monsoon seasons （1979-1982）.pH, conductivityand the major ionic components (C1-, SO4=, NO3-, NH4+, Na+, K+, Ca++, Mg++of the abovesamples were determined. The pH of rain water was found to be highly alkaline and the valuesvaried from 6.4 to 7.8. Soil-oriented elements showed good correltioan （r0.6） with pH valuesof rain water. The high concentration of soil-oriented elements, specially Ca++, is found to play animportant role in neutralizing the acidity of rain water and maintaining high alkaline pH. The studysuggested that the contribution of atmospheric aerosol of natural sources （sea and soil） to thechemical composition of rain water is more than that of anthropogenic origin.

在303.0 K维持离子强度为0.16 mol.L-1,体积比为0.0～60.0%的1,4二氧六环-水混合体系中用pH滴定法研究了CoⅡ,NiⅡ和CuⅢ离子与L-组氨酸和L-谷氨酸混合配体配合物的生成平衡。对不同的金属(M)与L-组氨酸(L)、L-谷氨酸(X)比(cM∶cL∶cX=1∶2.5∶2.5,1∶2.5∶5.0,1∶5.0∶2.5)的体系进行了碱量滴定。计算了三元配合物的稳定常数并用MINIQUAD75对各种模型进行了优化。根据统计数据和残差分析结果选取了最合适的化学模型。检测到的物种:对CoII而言为MLX2H2-和MLX23-,对NiⅡ和CuⅡ而言为MLXH,MLX2H2-和MLX23-。就有关浓度和稳定性对三元物种与二元物种进行了比较。三元物种的额外稳定性可归因于电荷中和,鳌合效应,堆叠作用和氢键等。

Aim: In tricompartmental osteoarthritis of the knee, the patellofemoral articulation is severely affected due to degenerative changes. patellaplasty is done as a part of total knee arthroplasty in these cases to smoothen the articular surface of patella. However, an ideal technique with easy reproducibility has been scarcely reported for the same. Method: We describe a method of using electrocautery and power saw with thin blades for patellaplasty. Results: Using this technique, we have produced results, which are comparable with cases where patellar resurfacing has been done. Conclusion: This described method for patellaplasty is easy with good reproducibility.

The photophysical properties of Anthrylacrylic ester were investigated in various solvents using steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence techniques. The dual fluorescence was observed in various solvents of different polarity functions. The emission bands observed are around 400 nm (band I) and 480 nm (band II) for 350 nm and 390 nm excitation at low concentrations (10–5 mol·dm–3) but at higher concentrations (10–3 mol·dm–3) only the emission (band II) at 480 nm alone was observed. The emission band observed around 400 nm shifts from 390 nm to 420 nm (shift 30 nm) when the excitation wavelength was varied from 300 nm to 380 nm and the emission band at 480 nm shifts from 430 nm to 510 nm (shift 80 nm) for the change of excitation wavelength from 380 nm to 400 nm. However, both emissions were observed for 380 nm excitation at lower concentrations. Solvatochromic shifts of electronic absorption and fluorescence emissions (band I & II) as a function of polarity functions were analyzed and the changes in dipole moment of the molecule was estimated (Δμ = 3.36 D & 5.98 D). Fluorescence decays monitored over each emission maxima showed bi-exponential behavior, and yielded two lifetime components respectively in the range 0.97 - 7.1 ns (at λem = 400 nm) and 0.34 - 7.23 ns (at λem = 480 nm). Based on the steady-state and time-resolved emission measurements emission band I (400 nm) and emission band II (480 nm) are respectively assigned as due to locally excited state (Trans-forms) and due to isomers (Cis-form).

On 3^rd March, 2016, there occurred a massive roof fall incidence in one of the major caverns of punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric project (pHEp-II), Bhutan which halted the operations in the major caverns and required additional strengthening measures. prior to concluding any thing on the treatment measures for the muck flown into the cavern and the cavity formed over the crown of Downstream Surge Chamber, there was a strong need to determine the extents of cavity. Even to understand the influence of cavity formation on adjacent caverns, the cavity needs to be delineated. Therefore, the management of pHEp-II adopted several techniques to decipher the shape and dimensions of the cavity like, surveying, geophysical, cross-hole seismic surveys, borehole scanning, and exploratory drilling. The tentative shape of the cavity could finally be established. The findings from each method are explained in this paper.

We present and experimentally study the effects of the photonic spin–orbit coupling on the real space propagation of polariton wavepackets in planar semiconductor microcavities and polaritonic analogues of *** particular,we demonstrate the appearance of an analogue Zitterbewegung effect,a term which translates as‘trembling motion’in English,which was originally proposed for relativistic Dirac electrons and consisted of the oscillations of the centre of mass of a wavepacket in the direction perpendicular to its *** a planar microcavity,we observe regular Zitterbewegung oscillations whose amplitude and period depend on the wavevector of the *** then extend these results to a honeycomb lattice of coupled microcavity *** to the planar cavity,such lattices are inherently more tuneable and versatile,allowing simulation of the Hamiltonians of a wide range of important physical *** observe an oscillation pattern related to the presence of the spin-split Dirac cones in the *** both cases,the experimentally observed oscillations are in good agreement with theoretical modelling and independently measured bandstructure parameters,providing strong evidence for the observation of Zitterbewegung.

Objective:To investigate the interaction of p53 with docetaxel and berberine and their anticancer activities against oral squamous cell ***:The interaction between p53 with docetaxel and berberine was investigated and their mechanisms of action against oral squamous cell carcinoma were *** studies were performed to determine any toxic impact of the drugs on the vital organs of tested ***:In silico results revealed the molecular interaction of docetaxel and berberine with p53 and the molecules were found to be potential p53 *** and berberine inhibited the proliferation of cancer cells in a concentration-dependent *** cytometry analysis revealed that docetaxel and berberine at IC50 concentrations upregulated the expression of p53 in oral squamous cell carcinoma cells,thus triggering apoptotic cell *** addition,no toxicity was observed in the liver and kidney tissues of mice after docetaxel and berberine ***:Docetaxel and berberine significantly suppressed the proliferation of oral cancer cells by activating p53 expression and causing apoptotic cell *** compounds can be potential agents for the treatment of oral cancer,with little to no toxicity at the tissue level.

印度中央丝绸委员会蚕丝技术研究中心研制了一种新的缫丝机。传统缫丝过程中,8～10根茧丝沿着垂直方向缠绕在滚筒上,而新研制的缫丝机可以在缫丝过程中利用一个差速旋转装置使蚕丝与其他纤维沿平行方向混纺制备蚕丝包芯丝,制备的包芯丝膨松度是传统缫丝机缫制生丝的3倍。以棉纤维、粘胶纤维和聚酯纤维等为芯丝制备蚕丝包芯丝,对其缫丝性能及品质指标进行测试的结果表明,不同种类蚕丝包芯丝的直径、缫折、出丝率、生丝回收率、质量损失率等缫丝性能指标以及平均纤度、纤度偏差、纤度最大偏差、断裂强度、延展度等品质指标均有显著差异。以蚕丝包芯丝为纬线,蚕丝为经线制作的织物,其克重、厚度、捻度、抗拉强度、撕裂强度、卷曲率、耐磨性和抗挠刚度等比普通蚕丝织物均有明显改善。
