Granite is well known as an acid aggregate. An active mineral filler produced in the laboratory is first used as an anti-stripping filler in the granite asphalt concrete. Four aggregate gradations were chosen in this study,and the effects of the active mineral filler and aggregates on the rutting resistance performance and fatigue properties of granite asphalt concrete were investigated by means of rutting test and four-point bending fatigue test. The results indicate that the dynamic stability of granite asphalt concrete increase significantly with the addition of active mineral filler and the fatigue properties can also be improved especially at lower strain level. Meanwhile,the results demonstrate that granite asphalt concrete has better rutting resistance performance and fatigue properties than limestone asphalt concrete.

Mg-Zn-Zr(ZK)alloys exhibit notably high mechanical strength amongst all magnesium alloy ***,due to the formation of low melting point Mg_3Zn_7-precipitates,these alloys are susceptible to hot cracking,thus compromising their metallurgical *** addition of rare earths to ZK alloys is an alternative to form higher melting point intermetallic compounds,speed up dynamic recrystallization,refine grain size,enhance corrosion resistance and extend the service temperature due to improved creep *** work deals with the effect of Ce-base mischmetal addition on the hot rolling behaviour of as-cast ZK60 *** microstructure investigation conducted using electron microscopy and X-Ray diffraction shows that precipitation of Mg_(7)Zn_(3) intermetallics occur during hot rolling,whereas no further precipitation is observed for the ZK60-Mm *** fragmentation of the intermetallic compounds occur during hot rolling and finer particles of Mg_(7)Zn_(3) are observed for the ZK60,whereas Mg_(7)Zn_(3) and Mg Zn_(2) Ce intermetallics are formed in the alloy modified with mischmetal addition.A higher fraction of dynamically recrystallized grains is observed for the ZK60-Mm in comparison to the *** recrystallization takes place in ZK60 with the formation of sub-grains near to the intermetallics and the addition of mischmetal promotes the occurrence of discontinuous recrystallization with the nucleation of new grains close to the *** mechanical strength and,in particular,the ductility of the hot-rolled alloys are notably improved when compared to the same alloys in the as-cast *** mechanical strength is,however,higher for the ZK60 *** solid solution strengthening,softer Mg Zn_(2) Ce intermetallics and more extensive recrystallization contribute to reduce the mechanical strength of *** in both alloys are initiated at coarse intermetallics and propagate through intermetallic-rich regions.

The tribological properties of nitrided Ni(45)(FeCoCr)(40)(AlTi)(15)high-entropy alloys(HEAs)were investigated in air and simulated acid rain under different normal loads(5,7,10,and 12 N)at ambient *** results revealed that as-cast HEAs were only composed of FCC phase,while the volume fraction of FCC phase in the nitrided alloys was significantly ***,the hard phases of AIN,CrN,Fe4 N,and TiN phases were formed in the nitrided *** thickness of the nitriding layer was about 8.4μ*** hardness increased from 8.7 Gpa in as-cast alloys to 14.5 Gpa in the nitrided *** addition,under the same conditions,the friction coefficient of the nitrided alloys was higher than that of as-cast alloys,but the wear rate was generally lower than that of as-cast ***,the wear rate of the nitrided alloys was the lowest in acid rain due to the lubrication,cleaning,and cooling in the liquid *** air,dominating wear mechanisms in as-cast and nitrided alloys were abrasive,delamination,and adhesive ***,the wear mechanism of as-cast and nitrided alloys in acid rain was mainly abrasive and corrosion wears.

The effect of heat treatment on the mechanical and biocorrosion behaviour of the Mg-1 wt.%Zn-1 wt.%Ca(ZX11)and Mg-3 wt.%Zn-0.4 wt.%Ca(ZX30)alloys was *** this purpose,three-point bending tests as well as electrochemical and immersion tests in Hank’s solution were performed on both alloys in four different thermal conditions:as-cast,solution-treated,peak-aged and *** examinations revealed that the as-cast ZX11 and ZX30 alloys exhibit a microstructure composed ofα-Mg grains separated by large Mg_(2)Ca and Ca_(2)Mg_(6)Zn_(3) particles and by large Ca_(2)Mg_(6)Zn_(3) particles,*** solution treatment,the Ca_(2)Mg_(6)Zn_(3) precipitates at the grain boundaries(GBs)are fully dissolved in the ZX11 alloy,but mainly redistributed to form a more connected configuration in the ZX30 alloy,showing a poor age-hardening ***,after solution-treatment,galvanic corrosion and corrosion rate decreases in the former,but increases in the *** peak-aged condition displays the highest corrosion rate for both alloys,maybe due to an excessive number density of fine Ca_(2)Mg_(6)Zn_(3) particles acting as cathodic ***,the over-aged condition shows the lowest corrosion rate for the ZX11 alloy and a very similar one to that of the as-cast sample for the ZX30 *** ZX11 alloy shows generally better biocorrosion behaviour than the ZX30 alloy to its lower content in the Ca_(2)Mg_(6)Zn_(3) phase and thus reduced galvanic *** Mg_(2)Ca phase present in the studied ZX11 alloy has been proved to exhibit an increased corrosion potential,which has been related to an observed enrichment with Zn.

The intensity distribution in the focal region of a high-NA lens for the incident azimuthally polarized multi Gaussian beam transmitted through a multi belt spiral phase hologram is studied on the basis of the vector diffraction theory. Here we report a new method used to generate a needle of transversely polarized light beam with sub diffraction beam size of 0.366A that propagates without divergence over a long distance of about 22A in free space. We also expect that such a light needle of transversely polarized beam may find its applications in utilizing optical materials or instruments responsive to the transversal field only.

This paper studies mixed convection,double dispersion and chemical reaction effects on heat and mass transfer in a non-Darcy non-Newtonian fluid over a vertical surface in a porous medium under the constant temperature and *** governing boundary layer equations,namely,momentum,energy and concentration,are converted to ordinary differential equations by introducing similarity variables and then are solved numerically by means of fourth-order Runge-Kutta method coupled with double-shooting *** velocity,temperature concentration,heat and mass transfer profiles are presented graphically for various values of the parameters,and the influence of viscosity index n,thermal and solute dispersion,chemical reaction parameter χ are observed.

Free radical polymerized palladium polyacrylate was characterized by X-ray diffraction. Various parameters including mean crystallite size, interchain separation and radius of gyration have been calculated and discussed with respect to the concentration of pd in the polymeric salt. The results show that polymer is predominantly amorphous in nature.
