Background and aim:Crohn’s colitis(CC)is associated with primary sclerosing cholangitis(pSC).However the risk of colon cancer or dysplasia in CC and pSC is *** aim was to study the risk of colon neoplasia in CC in patients with and without ***:This is a nested,case-control cohort study of all patients diagnosed with concurrent CC and pSC,seen at the Cleveland Clinic between 1985 and ***-three patients with both CC and pSC were compared with a random sample of 159 CC controls without pSC during the same ***:Seven(16.3%)of 43 CC patients with pSC developed colon cancer or dysplasia,compared with 22(13.8%)of 159 controls(p=0.98).Of seven colon neoplasia cases in the pSC group,100%occurred proximal to the splenic flexure,compared with 50%(11/22)cases of colon neoplasia in controls occurring in the proximal colon(p=0.001).Based on Cox regression analysis,male gender independently increased the risk of neoplasia[hazard ratio(HR)=2.68;95%confidence interval(CI)1.30-5.54;p=0.008],as did age at CC diagnosis(HR=1.29;95%CI 1.14-1.47;pprine/6-mercaptopurine was protective(HR=0.30;95%CI 0.13-0.70;p=0.005).The presence of pSC did not increase the risk for colon neoplasia(HR=0.45;95%CI 0.18-1.13;p=0.09).Conclusions:CC patients with pSC appear not to be at increased risk of developing colon *** patients in our cohort with colon neoplasia and concurrent pSC,the neoplasia occurred in the proximal colon in all cases.

This study applies the Lindenmayer system based on fractal theory to generate synthetic fracture networks in hydraulically fractured *** applied flow model is based on complex analysis methods,which can quantify the flow near the fractures,and being gridless,is computationally faster than traditional discrete volume *** representation of hydraulic fractures as fractals is a more realistic representation than planar bi-wing fractures used in most reservoir *** withdrawal from the reservoir with evenly spaced hydraulic fractures may leave dead zones between planar *** fractal networks will drain the reservoir matrix more effectively,due to the mitigation of stagnation flow *** flow velocities,pressure response,and drained rock volume(DRV)are visualized for a variety of fractal fracture networks in a single-fracture treatment *** major advancement of this study is the improved representation of hydraulic fractures as complex fractals rather than restricting to planar fracture *** models indicate that when the complexity of hydraulic fracture networks increases,this will suppress the occurrence of dead flow *** order to increase the DRV and improve ultimate recovery,our flow models suggest that fracture treatment programs must find ways to create more complex fracture networks.

Multiple pulmonary nodules on chest x-ray, known commonly as cannon ball secondaries, are the classical presentation of haematogenous dissemination of a malignant tumor to the lungs. This almost always indicates advanced stage of the disease with a very grim outlook in terms of cure or survival. In this report we present a patient with very extensive Cannon Ball Metastases due to advanced colonic malignancy.

AIM:To compare the difference of capsulotomy produced by precision pulse capsulotomy(ppC),manual(M-CCC),and femtosecond laser assisted capsulotomy(FLAC)in relation to intraocular lens(IOL)centration,circularity and its effect on visual ***:prospective,non-randomized comparative study conducted at LV prasad Eye Institute,Hyderabad,*** eyes of 52 patients were grouped into 3(FLAC,ppC and M-CCC)based on capsulotomy techniques *** consecutive eyes with uneventful phacoemulsification and with no comorbidities affecting the capsulotomy or visual outcome were included in each *** main outcome measure was IOL centration in relation to capsulotomy and *** outcome measures were post-operative visual acuity,manifest refraction and aberration profile between ***:At 5 wk the visual,refractive outcomes and endothelial cell density were comparable between the 3 *** median circularity index of FLAC was statistically significantly different to M-CCC or ppC(1-10)groups(pppC(11-20)was comparable to *** of IOL center in relation to capsulotomy was seen only between the ppC(1-10)group and FLAC group(p=0.02).The IOL was well centered in relation to the pupil in all the groups(p=0.46).The quality of vision parameters like the higher order aberrations,spherical aberration,coma,trefoil,modular transfer function,and Strehl ratio were comparable between the ***:Our study shows that despite differences in the morphology of capsulotomy produced by ppC,M-CCC,FLAC a well-centered IOL can be *** measured capsular morphology parameters do not affect visual outcomes.

In this work,we propose a stateless blockchain called CompactChain,which compacts the entire state of the UTXO(Unspent Transaction Output)based blockchain systems into two RSA *** first accumulator is called Transaction Output(TXO)commitment which represents the TXO *** second one is called Spent Transaction Output(STXO)commitment which represents the STXO *** this work,we discuss three algorithms:(i)To update the TXO and STXO commitments by the *** miner also provides the proofs for the correctness of the updated commitments;(ii)To prove the transaction’s validity by providing a membership witness in TXO commitment and non-membership witness against STXO commitment for a coin being spent by a user;(iii)To update the witness for the coin that is not yet spent;The experimental results evaluate the performance of the CompactChain in terms of time taken by a miner to update the commitments and time taken by a validator to verify the commitments and validate the *** compare the performance of CompactChain with the existing state-of-the-art works on stateless *** shows a reduction in commitments update complexity and transaction witness size which inturn reduces the mempool size and propagation latency without compromising the system throughput(Transactions per second(TpS)).

previous studies have shown that transplanted enteric glia enhance axonal regeneration, reduce tissue damage, and promote functional recovery following spinal cord injury. However, the mechanisms by which enteric glia mediate these beneficial effects are unknown. Neurotrophic factors can promote neuronal differentiation, survival and neurite extension. We hypothesized that enteric glia may exert their protective effects against spinal cord injury partially through the secretion of neurotrophic factors. In the present study, we demonstrated that primary enteric glia cells release nerve growth factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor over time with their concentrations reaching approximately 250, 100 and 50 pg/mL of culture medium respectively after 48 hours. The biological relevance of this secretion was assessed by incubating dissociated dorsal root ganglion neuronal cultures in enteric glia-conditioned medium with and/or without neutralizing antibodies to each of these proteins and evaluating the differences in neurite growth. We discovered that conditioned medium enhances neurite outgrowth in dorsal root ganglion neurons. Even though there was no detectable amount of neurotrophin-3 secretion using ELISA analysis, the neurite outgrowth effect can be attenuated by the antibody-mediated neutralization of each of the aforementioned neurotrophic factors. Therefore, enteric glia secrete nerve growth factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor and neurotrophin-3 into their surrounding environment in concentrations that can cause a biological effect.

In this study,an artificial neural network(ANN)is developed to predict the performance of a spark-ignition engine using waste pomegranate ethanol blends.A series of experiments on a single-cylinder,four-stroke spark-ignition engine yielded the data needed for neural network training and validation.70 percent of the experimental data was used to train the network using the feed-forward back propagation(FFBp)*** developed network model’s performance was evaluated by contrasting its output with experimental *** parameters included engine speed,ethanol blends,and output parameters included indicated and brake power,thermal,volumetric,and mechanical *** and testing data had regression coefficients that were almost identical to *** research revealed that the ANN model can be a better option for predicting engine performance with a higher level of accuracy.

The effects of inorganic and organic tin compounds and various factors affecting the toxicity of the latter to Escherichia coli were *** comparison to stannous chloride,tributyltin chloride(TBTC)was more inhibitory to the growth of the test organism;this may be due to its greater liposolubility and ready absorption through the bacterial *** toxicity of TBTC to *** was modulated by various factors,such as pH,sulfate and chloride ions,and the presence of glucose,succinate,and reducing agents like cysteine and dithiothreitol(DTT). TBTC was more toxic to cells in minimal than in complex ***,this compound was more inhibitory to the growth of *** at acid pH than at basic *** in contrast to glucose,when used as a carbon source,made the bacterium more sensitive to *** and DTT(both at a final concentration of 0.5 mM)partially protected the cells against the inhibitory effect of this agent.1989 Academic press,Inc.

CDRI compound no. 99/411 is a potent 1,2,4-trioxane antimalarial candidate drug under development at our Institute. An HpLC method for determination of CDRI 99/411 with its starting material and intermediates has been developed and validated for in process quality control and stability studies. The analytical performance parameters such as linearity, precision, accuracy, specificity, limit of detection （LOD） and lower limit of quantification （LLOQ） were determined according to International Conference on Harmonization ICH Q2（R1） guidelines. HpLC separation was achieved on a Rp-select B Lichrosphere~ column （250 mm x 4 ram, 5 lam, Merck） using water containing 0.1% glacial acetic acid and acetonitrile as the mobile phase in a gradient elution. The eluents were monitored by a photo diode array detector at 245 and 275 nm. Based on signal to noise ratio of 3 and 10 the LOD of CDRI 99/411 was 0.55 μg/mL, while the LLOQ was 1.05 μg/mL. The calibration curves were linear in the range of 1.05- 68 μg/mL. precision of the method was determined by inter- and intra-assay variations within the acceptable range.
