Interactions between surface gravity wave and submerged horizontal flexible structures are studied under the assumption of small amplitude water wave theory and structural response. The generalized dispersion relation associated with surface gravity wave interaction with submerged horizontal flexible plate is analyzed to understand the characteristics of the two propagating modes due to the presence of the free surface and submerged horizontal plate. The phase and group velocities are studied in order to analyze the effect of submerged flexible plate on gravity wave motion. The expansion formulae based on Green’s function technique and eigenfunction expansion method using Fourier transform with appropriate orthogonal mode-coupling relation associated with surface gravity wavemaker problems are derived and compared in both the cases of water of finite and infinite depths. The usefulness of the expansion formulae is demonstrated by deriving the solution for surface gravity wave interaction with submerged articulated flexible plate in water of finite depth. Several numerical results on reflection and transmission coefficients related to submerged flexible plate are presented in order to understand the effect of submerged flexible structure on surface wave motion in different cases.

Highly efficient Ag3pO4/MoS2 nanocomposite photocatalyst was synthe- sized using a wet chemical route with a low weight percentage of highly exfoliated MoS2 （0.1 wt.%） and monodispersed Ag3pO4 nanoparticles （-5.4 nm）. The structural and optical properties of the nanocomposite were studied using various characterization techniques, such as XRD, TEM, Raman and absorption spectroscopy. The composite exhibits markedly enhanced photocatalytic activity with a low lamp power （60 W）. Using this composite, a high kinetic rate constant （k） value of 0.244 min^-1 was found. It was observed that -97.6% of dye degrade over the surface of nanocomposite catalyst within 15 min of illumination. The improved photocatalytic activity of Ag3pO4/MoS2 nanocomposite is attributed to the efficient interfacial charge separation, which was supported by the pL results. Large surface area of MoS2 nanosheets incorporated with well dispersed Ag3pO4 nanoparticles further increases charge separation, contributing to enhanced degradation efficiency. A possible mechanism for charge separation is also discussed.

Laparoscopic surgery(LS), also termed minimal access surgery, has brought a paradigm shift in the approach to modern surgical care. Early postoperative recovery, less pain, improved aesthesis and early return to work have led to its popularity both amongst surgeons and patients. Its application has progressed from cholecystectomies and appendectomies to various other fields including gastrointestinal surgery, urology, gynecology and oncosurgery. However, LS has its own package of complications. port site infection(pSI), although infrequent, is one of the bothersome complications which undermine the benefits of minimal invasive surgery. Not only does it add to the morbidity of the patient but also spoils the reputation of the surgeon. Despite the advances in the field of antimicrobial agents, sterilization techniques, surgical techniques, operating room ventilation, pSIs still prevail. The emergence of rapid growing atypical mycobacteria with multidrug resistance, which are the causative organism in most of the cases, has further compounded the problem. pSIs are preventable if appropriate measures are taken preoperatively, intraoperatively and postoperatively. pSIs can often be treated non-surgically, with early identification and appropriate management. Macrolides, quinolones and aminoglycosides antibiotics do show promising activity against the atypical mycobacteria. This review article highlights the clinical burden, presentations and management of pSIs in LS as shared by various authors in the literature. We have given emphasis to atypical mycobacteria, which are emerging as a common etiological agent for pSIs in LS. Although the existing literature lacks consensus regarding pSI management, the complication can be best avoided by strictly abiding by the commandments of sterilization techniques of the laparoscopic instruments with appropriate sterilizing agent.

In this paper,the superhydrophobic coatings on aluminium sur-faces were prepared by two-step(chemical etching followed by coating)and one-step(chemical etching and coating in a single step)processes using potassium hydroxide and lauric ***,surface immersion time in solutions was varied in both *** and surface morphologies of treated alumi-nium surfaces were characterized using contact angle measure-ment technique and scanning electron microscopy,*** are formed on the treated aluminium surfaces which lead to increase in contact angle of the surface(>150°).Also on increasing immersion time,contact angle further increases due to increase in size and depth of ***,these superhydrophobic coatings show excellent self-cleaning and corrosion-resistant *** jet impact,floatation on water surface,and low temperature condensation tests assert the excel-lent water-repellent nature of ***,coatings are to be found mechanically,thermally,and ultraviolet *** with,these coatings are found to be excellent regeneration ability as verified *** aforesaid both processes gener-ate durable and regenerable superhydrophobic aluminium sur-faces with excellent self-cleaning,corrosion-resistant,and water-repellent characteristics,but one-step process is proved more efficient and less time consuming than two-step process and promises to produce superhydrophobic coatings for industrial applications.
