The family members of the mitogen-activated protein (MAp) kinases mediate a wide variety of cellular behaviors in response to extracellular stimuli. One of the four main sub-groups, the p38 group of MAp kinases, serve as a nexus for signal transduction and play a vital role in numerous biological processes. in this review, we highlight the known characteristics and components of the p38 pathway along with the mechanism and consequences of p38 activation. We focus on the role of p38 as a signal transduction mediator and examine the evidence linking p38 to inflammation, cell cycle, cell death, development, cell differentiation, senescence and tumorigenesis in specific cell types. Upstream and downstream components of p38 are described and questions remaining to be answered are posed. Finally, we propose several directions for future research on p38.

Although the antiestrogen agent tamoxifen has long been used to treat women with hormone receptor positive inva-sive breast carcinoma, the mechanisms of its action and acquired resistance to tamoxifen during treatment are largelyunknown. A number of studies have revealed that over-activation of some signaling pathways can cause tamoxifenresistance; however, very little information is available regarding the genes whose loss-of-function alternation contrib-ute to tamoxifen resistance. Here we used a forward genetic approach in vitro to generate tamoxifen resistant cells fromthe tamoxifen sensitive breast cancer cell line ZR-75-1, and further identified the disrupted gene in different tamoxifenresistant clones. Retinol binding protein 7, DNA polymerase-transactivated protein 3, γ-glutamyltransferase-like activity 1,slit-robo RhoGTpase-activating protein, tetraspan NET-4, HSpC194, amiloride-sensitive epithelial sodium channel gene,and Notch2, were the eight mutated genes identified in different tamoxifen resistant clones, suggesting their requirementfor tamoxifen sensitivity in ZR-75-1 cells. Since the functions of these genes are not related to each other, it suggeststhat multiple pathways can influence tamoxifen sensitivity in breast cancer cells.

The purpose of given article-consideration of the basic features of modern manufacturing of nuclear fuel which would confirm fact, that the manufacturer does everything that its production would respond not only to requirements of the consumer, but also to its expected inquiries, and would correspond to intended purposes of fuel. it was defined main tendencies and features of modern technology, especially in nuclear fuel production, on base of meeting discussions, themes of journal articles on nuclear subject. They are correspond with practice of JSC NCCp （Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates plant） and listed in the paper. in result of it number of base features of any advanced technology, not only nuclear, described here with examples from NCCp＇s practice. Of course, there is no certain list of all attributes of modern manufacturing as there is no limit to its perfection. These categories are forming by current needs of the market, but listed ones must be.

Nickel(Ⅱ)complexes with pyrazole-based ligands are widely employed in catalysis of ethylene oligomerization and subsequent Friedel-Crafts alkylation of *** have prepared ten new nickel(Ⅱ)dibromide complexes with various substituted bis(azolyl)*** have been characterized using^(1)H NMR,iR,high resolution mass spectrometry and elemental *** structures of three complexes have been unambiguously established using X-ray *** was found that these complexes in the presence of Et2AlCl or Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)are active both in ethylene oligomerization and Friedel-Crafts alkylation processes(activity up to 3720 kgoligomer·mol[Ni]^(−1)·h^(−1)).The use of Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)results in a higher share of alkylated products(up to 60%).Moreover,catalytic systems activated with Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)produced small amounts of odd carbon number olefins(up to 0.8%).The Friedel-Crafts alkylation was used as a trap for previously undetected short-chain odd carbon number olefins(C_(3)and C_(5)).

This work aims at elucidating some of the key steps of the oxidation pathways of lignin model compounds using Cu(ii)-phenantroline as catalyst and hydrogen peroxide as *** and non-phenolic beta-O-A dimeric phenyl propane structures were selected as lignin models since they represent the most abundant structures in lignin. The compounds used in this work are not commercially available;merefore all of them were synthesized. Oxidation reactions were carried out under alkaline conditions,at 80℃for 3 *** lignin model dimer(LMD) disappearance and some of the oxidation products were identified by HpLC analyses. products as acetaldehyde,veratric or vanillic acid,and guaiacol were identified as resultant products of LMD oxidations.A tentative mechanism which involves the oxidation of the benzylic alcohol group followed by the cleavage of the beta-ether linkages is proposed.

AU-rich elements (AREs) in the 3’ untranslated region (UTR) of unstable mRNAs dictate their degradation. An RNAi-based screen performed in Drosophila S2 cells has revealed that Dicerl, Argonautel (Agol) and Ago2, components involved in microRNA (miRNA) processing and function, are required for the rapid decay of mRNA containing AREs of tumor necrosis factor-alpha. The requirement for Dicer in the instability of ARE-containing mRNA (ARE-RNA) was confirmed in HeLa cells.
