Environmental factors may negatively contribute to a progressive worsening of semen quality,and differences in semen quality may result from different environmental exposures(regional differences)or lifestyle *** metals are factors with a confirmed negative influence on male *** them,lead and cadmium are commonly found in human ***,we analyzed semen parameters(according to the World Health Organization 2010 recommendations)and semen lead and cadmium concentrations in 188 men from two different regions in poland,a typical agricultural area and an industrial area,in couples that had been diagnosed with *** assays were performed using flameless electrothermal atomic absorption *** the statistical analysis,regional comparisons and then taxonomic comparisons based on three parameters(age,semen concentration,and sperm morphology)were *** showed that more cadmium than lead accumulated in semen,a higher cadmium concentration was observed in semen obtained from men from the agricultural region,and better semen quality and lower cadmium concentrations were found in the semen of men from the industrial,more polluted *** thus showed an existing regionalism in the sperm quality ***,semen parameters such as morphology and progressive and nonprogressive motility followed the same trends,regardless of the patient’s age,region,or *** could conclude that the environment has a minor impact on sperm morphology and progressive and nonprogressive motility and that other existing factors could have an indirect influence on semen quality.

The gaseous phytohormone ethylene regulates many developmental processes and responses to environmental conditions in higher plants. In Arabidopsis thaliana, ethylene perception and initiation of signaling are mediated by a family of five receptors which are related to prokaryotic two-component sensor histidine kinases. The transient ex- pression of fluorescence-tagged receptors in tobacco （Nicotiana benthamiana） epidermal leaf cells demonstrated that all ethylene receptors are targeted to the ER endomembrane network and do not localize to the plasmalemma. In support of in planta overlay studies, the ethylene receptors form homomeric and heteromeric protein complexes at the ER in living plant cells, as shown by membrane recruitment assays. A comparable in vivo interaction pattern was found in the yeast mating-based split-ubiquitin system. The overlapping but distinct expression pattern of the ethylene receptor genes suggests a differential composition of the ethylene receptor complexes in different plant tissues. Our findings may have crucial functional implications on the ethylene receptor-mediated efficiency of hormone perception, induction of signaling, signal attenuation and output.

AIM:To investigate the contribution of ABCB4 mutations to pediatric idiopathic gallstone disease and the potential of hormonal contraceptives to prompt clinical manifestations of multidrug resistance protein 3 ***:Mutational analysis of ABCB4,screening for copy number variations by multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification,genotyping for low expression allele c.1331T>C of ABCB11 and genotyping for variation c.55G>C in ABCG8 previously associated with cholesterol gallstones in adults was performed in 35 pediatric subjects with idiopathic gallstones who fulfilled the clinical criteria for low phospholipid-associated cholelithiasis syndrome(LpAC,OMIM#600803)and in 5young females with suspected LpAC and their families(5 probands,15 additional family members).The probands came to medical attention for contraceptiveassociated intrahepatic ***:A possibly pathogenic variant of ABCB4was found only in one of the 35 pediatric subjects with idiopathic cholesterol gallstones whereas 15 members of the studied 5 LpAC kindreds were confirmed and another one was highly suspected to carry predictably pathogenic mutations in *** these 16,however,none developed gallstones in *** 5index patients,all young females carrying at least one pathogenic mutation in one allele of ABCB4,manifestation of LpAC as intrahepatic cholestasis with elevated serum activity of gamma-glutamyltransferase was induced by hormonal *** ABCB11c.1331T>C and ABCG8 c.55G>C were not significantly overrepresented in the 35 examined patients with suspect ***:Clinical criteria for LpAC syndrome caused by mutations in ABCB4 cannot be applied topediatric patients with idiopathic *** immaturity even prevents manifestation of LpAC.

This article deals with the relation between ethics and financial and budgetary discipline during economic and social recession in the Czech Republic. We find causes of economic and social recession in the Czech Republic in the loss of democratic and human values. Czech Republic was ranked the 57th place in the Corruption perceptions index 2013 out of the 177 countries assessed, which is the same result achieved by Bahrain, Croatia, and Namibia. Among the 31 European Union （EU） member states and Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland, the Czech Republic is on the 25th site. Market as well as public sector and public finances should follow unwritten rules of ethics and ethical behavior. Such rules should be followed especially by politicians, officials, soldiers, and businessmen. Do we need ethics in present time？ How is the role of the code of ethics in increasing financial and budgetary discipline in the defence sector？ Is it possible to measure efficiency of the code of ethics for financial and budgetary discipline？ We explain the importance of codes of ethics and formulate essential elements that each code of ethics must contain. Next, we deal with the main rules of both financial and budgetary disciplines. Furthermore, this article offers a comparison of several codes of ethics and describes the main problems in our implementation. In the end, we introduce our draft of Code of Ethics for Economic Service Officer in the Ministry of Defence and talk about possible influences of these codes on the quality of employee＇s performance.

The discovery of cytosolic ABA receptors is an important breakthrough in stomatal research; signaling via these receptors is involved in determining the basal stomatal conductance and stomatal responsiveness. However, the source of ABA in guard cells is still not fully understood. The level of ABA increases in guard cells by de novo synthesis, recycling from inactive conjugates via β-glucosidases BG1 and BG2 and by import, whereas it decreases by hydroxylation, conjugation, and export. ABA importers include the NRT1/pTR family protein AIT1, ATp-binding cassette protein ABCG40, and possibly ABCG22, whereas the DTX family member DTX50 and ABCG25 function as ABA exporters. Here, we review the proteins involved in ABA transport and homeostasis and their physiological role in stomatal regulation. Recent experiments suggest that functional redundancy probably exists among ABA transporters between vascu- lature and guard cells and ABA recycling proteins, as stomatal functioning remained intact in abcg22, abcg25, abcg40, aitl, and bglbg2 mutants. Only the initial response to reduced air humidity was significantly delayed in abcg22. Considering the reports showing autonomous ABA synthesis in guard cells, we discuss that rapid stomatal responses to atmospheric factors might depend primarily on guard cellsynthesized ABA, whereas in the case of long-term soil water deficit, ABA synthesized in the vasculature might have a significant role.

奥地利韩马迪***-Mazzetti在丽江所采的真菌标本,其中由***等所鉴定已在1937年发表在中国植物汇编(Symbolae Sinicae)第二卷中,长期被研究中国真菌学者所引用。这些标本现被保存在维也纳大学植物研究所的标本馆(WU)中。由于经历了第二次大战的蹂躏,加以无人问津,这些标本不少或被虫蚀或遭霉腐。作者在复查有关牛肝菌目和伞菌目的71号标本中,其中7号已下落不明,其中32号鉴定有误,如不纠正,必导致于引用文献时以讹传讹,故作者将所见标本作了订正,这对研究中国的真菌该是有益的。

BioRem—Database for Remediation of Heavy Metal Rich Habitats and protection of Their Biodiversity

BioRem is an open access on-line resource, which aims to document the biodiversity of terrestrial heavy metal rich sites around the globe that are the habitats of specialized metal tolerant organisms (MTOs). A comprehensive inventory of MTOs together with an analysis of environmental conditions and research about the adaptations of MTOs shall support the development of holistic models about the functioning of heavy metal ecosystems and lead to an improved understanding of interactions and adaptation strategies of MTOs. Furthermore, the database enables the identification of plants and microorganisms suited for remediation actions where protection of the population and the environment is needed. Information about scientific data shall lay the ground for the definition of heavy metal habitats with unique biocoenoses as reservoirs of biodiversity: accordingly, BioRem shall be a resource for education and for dissemination of our knowledge about the ecology of heavy metal rich sites and their habitats, and it shall provide tools for the evaluation of socio-economic strategies for either remediation or preservation of heavy metal habitats. Where needed, alternative strategies for the survival of MTOs shall be developed, hence contributing to the aim of the G?teborg 2010 target to halt loss of biodiversity.
