We have recently proposed a new technique of plasma tailoring by laser-driven hydrodynamic shockwaves generated on both sides of a gas jet[Marquès et al.,*** 28,023103(2021)].In a continuation of this numerical work,we study experimentally the influence of the tailoring on proton acceleration driven by a high-intensity picosecond laser in three cases:without tailoring,by tailoring only the entrance side of the picosecond laser,and by tailoring both sides of the gas *** tailoring,the acceleration is transverse to the laser axis,with a low-energy exponential spectrum,produced by Coulomb *** the front side of the gas jet is tailored,a forward acceleration appears,which is significantly enhanced when both the front and back sides of the plasma are *** forward acceleration produces higher-energy protons,with a peaked spectrum,and is in good agreement with the mechanism of collisionless shock acceleration(CSA).The spatiotemporal evolution of the plasma profile is characterized by optical shadowgraphy of a probe *** refraction and absorption of this beam are simulated by post-processing 3D hydrodynamic simulations of the plasma *** with the experimental results allows estimation of the thickness and near-critical density of the plasma slab produced by tailoring both sides of the gas *** parameters are in good agreement with those required for CSA.

Damaging effects of gliadin on three-dimensional cell culture model

AIM： To evaluate the effects of gliadin on the oxidative environment in the “in vivo-like”model of a three-dimensional cell culture system. METHODS： LoVo cell line （intestinal adenocarcinoma） multicellular spheroids were treated with digested gliadin （with albumin used as a control）. Spheroid volumes, cell viability and morphology, lactate dehydrogenase （LDH） release, content of reduced glutathione （GSH） and activity of GSH-related enzymes were examined. The data were statistically analyzed using the Student＇s t-test （p〈0.05）. was considered statistically significant. RESULTS： Gliadin reduced cell viability （from 20% to 60%） and led to morphological alterations characterized by apoptotic findings and cytoskeletal injuries. LDH activity increased. The content of GSH reduced （-20% vscontrols）, and activity of GSH-related enzymes was significantly inhibited. CONCLUSION： Gliadin treatment induces an imbalance in the antioxidative mechanism of cells cultured by the three-dimensional technique. This alteration may explain cell damage directly caused by gliadin and the subsequentmorphological abnormalities.

Wild potato species have substantial phenotypic and physiological diversity. Here, we report a comprehen- sive assessment of wild and cultivated potato species based on genomic analyses of 201 accessions of Solanum section petota. We sequenced the genomes of these 201 accessions and identified 6 487 006 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNps） from 167 accessions in clade 4 of Solanum section petota, including 146 wild and 21 cultivated diploid potato accessions with a broad geographic distribution. Genome-wide genetic variation analysis showed that the diversity of wild potatoes is higher than that of cultivated potatoes, and much higher genetic diversity in the agronomically important disease resistance genes was observed in wild potatoes. Furthermore, by exploiting information about known quantitative trait loci （QTL）, we identified 609 genes under selection, including those correlated with the loss of bitterness in tubers and those involved in tuberization, two major domesticated traits of potato. phylogenetic analyses revealed a north-south division of all species in clade 4, not just those in the S. brevicaule complex, and further supported So candolleanum as the progenitor of cultivated potato and the monophyletic origin of cultivated potato in southern peru. In addition, we analyzed the genome of S. candolleanum and identified 529 genes lost in cultivated potato. Collectively, the molecular markers generated in this study provide a valuable resource for the identification of agronomicaUy important genes useful for potato breeding.

We present the results of the first commissioning phase of the short-focal-length area of the Apollon laser facility(located in Saclay,France),which was performed with the first available laser beam(F2),scaled to a nominal power of 1 *** the conditions that were tested,this beam delivered on-target pulses of 10 J average energy and 24 fs *** diagnostics were fielded to assess the performance of the *** on-target focal spot and its spatial stability,the temporal intensity profile prior to the main pulse,and the resulting density gradient formed at the irradiated side of solid targets have been thoroughly characterized,with the goal of helping users design future *** of energetic electrons,ions,and electromagnetic radiation were recorded,showing good laser-to-target coupling efficiency and an overall performance comparable to that of similar international *** will be followed in 2022 by a further commissioning stage at the multipetawatt level.

Gastric laceration after cardiopulmonary resuscitation:A case report

The cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CpR) persists as the best practice to maintain cerebral and coronary perfusion after cardiac arrest. Due to the chest compressions and ventilation maneuvers during resuscitation, there are common complications reported. Abdominal organs injuries occur in approximately 30% of patients, although studies show that they are under diagnosticated. The aim of this article is to report a case of massive digestive hemorrhage by gastric laceration after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, due to the event severity and rare clinic diagnostic. A 75-year-old Caucasian man suffered a sudden malaise and cardiac arrest and transferred to an Emergency Unit (EU). The set of measures recommended by Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) was performed. Despite no resistance to the passage of nasogastric survey and spontaneous healing of fresh blood exteriorization, an endoscopy showed ulcers in gastric notch with clots adhered and active blood. There was no track record of liver or gastrointestinal diseases on this patient, identifying a gastric laceration after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The mechanism by which the gastric laceration after CpR occurred is uncertain. Nevertheless, some precipitating factors are considered such as positioning of the patient during CpR, ideal point of compressions and ventilation pressure. In conclusion, this event is rare with a hard diagnostic however that could be avoided and minimized with preventive measures.

Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is a malignant proliferation of mature helper T lymphocytes, and is caused by human T-lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I); an HTLV-I infection endemic in the Caribbean, south-western Japan, South America and Africa. Seroepidemiological studies suggest that it is also endemic in Brazil. Although carriers of HTLV-I show polyclonal integration of virus in T lymphocytes, only patients with ATLL of various subtypes show monoclonal integration of HTLV-I in tumor cells. Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) are a group of primary cutaneous lymphoproliferative diseases unknown etiology. The two most common presentations of CTCL are mycosis fungoides (MF) and Sézary syndrome (SS). However, both CTCL categories can easily resemble ATLL. Therefore, in HTLV-I endemic areas, differentiation between ATLL and CTCL must be performed, as they have different prognoses and treatment approaches.
