Solid polymer electrolytes based on chitosan and europium triflate were prepared by solvent casting and characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy （SEm）, atomic force microscopy （AFm）, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The X-ray diffraction exhibited that the samples were essentially amorphous with organized regions over the whole range of the salt content studied. The AFm analysis demonstrated that the smoother sample had roughness of 4.39 nm. Surface visualization through SEm revealed good homogeneity without any phase separation for more conductive samples and the less conductive showed some im- perfections on the surface. The emission and excitation spectra displayed the characteristic bands of Eu（CF3SO3）3 in addition to broad bands corresponding to the polymer host. The excited state 5D0 lifetime values ranged from 0.29-0.37 ms for the studied samples.

Knowledge regarding the influence of individual traits on interaction patterns in nature can help understand the topological role of individuals within a network of intrapopulation *** tested hypotheses on the relationships between individuals'positions within networks(specialization and centrality)of 4 populations of the mouse opossum Gracilinanus agilis and their traits(i.e.,body length,body condition,tail length relative to body length,sex,reproductive condition,and botfly parasitism)and also seasonal effects in the Brazilian *** with lower body length,better body condition,and relatively shorter tail were more specialized(i.e.,less connected within the network).Individuals were also more specialized and less connected during the warm-wet *** relationship between individuals'position in the network and body traits,however,was independent of *** propose that specialization may arise not only as a result of preferred feed-ing strategies by more capable individuals(i.e.,those with better body condition and potentially prone to defend and access high-quality food resources)but alsobecause of morphological ***/younger individuals(consequently with less experience in foraging)and short-tailed individuals(less skilled to explore the vertical strata of the vegetation)would feed only on a subset of the available food resources and consequently become more ***,individuals are more specialized during the warm-wet season because of high competition(population-dense period)and higher ecological opportunities(resource-rich period).Therefore,our study reveals the relevance of individual traits inshaping interactionpatternsandspecialization inpopulations.

The E2F/Dp pathway is a widely conserved regulatory mechanism in pluricellular *** family of E2F and Dp transcription factors was originally described having a role in the transition from the G1 to the S phase of the cell ***,the discovery of hundreds of possible gene targets and their involvement in many other biochemical processes,soon showed that they participated in cell development and differentiation,chromatin remodeling,DNA repair and *** E2F/Dp transcription factors can act as either activators or repressors of transcription depending on their association to other regulatory proteins,particularly the retinoblastoma protein,or even depending to their protein structure that can define their *** plants the E2F/Dp pathway also regulates endoreduplication,a process present along the life cycle,from organ elongation to root differentiation and *** transcription factors also help plant cells to respond to environmental disturbances such as those caused by different types of radiation,or by *** review focuses on the“so called”non-canonical functions of the E2F/Dp family proteins in animal and plant cells,that are in fact essential activities that connect regulatory circuits among multiple metabolic pathways by means of their atypical functions.

Disposal of chromium （Cr） hexavalent form, Cr（Ⅵ）, in soils as additions in organic fertilizers, liming materials or plant nutrient sources can be dangerous since Cr（Ⅵ） can be highly toxic to plants, animals, and humans. In order to explore soil conditions that lead to Cr（Ⅵ） generation, this study were performed using a paleudult （Dystic Nitosol） from a region that has a high concentration of tannery operations in the Rio Crande do Sul State, southern Brazil. Three laboratory incubation experiments were carried out to examine the influences of soil moisture content and concentration of cobalt and organic matter additions on soil Cr（Ⅵ） formation and release and manganese （mn） oxide reduction with a salt of chromium chloride （CrCl3） and tannery sludge as inorganic and organic sources of Cr（Ⅲ）, respectively. The amount of Cr（Ⅲ） oxidation depended on the concentration of easily reducible mn oxides and the oxidation was more intense at the soil water contents in which mn（Ⅲ/Ⅳ） oxides were more stable. Soluble organic compounds in soil decreased Cr（Ⅵ） formation due to Cr（Ⅲ） complexation. This mechanism also resulted in the decrease in the oxidation of Cr（Ⅲ） due to the tannery sludge additions. Chromium（Ⅲ） oxidation to Cr（Ⅵ） at the solid/solution interface involved the following mechanisms： the formation of a precursor complex on manganese （mn） oxide surfaces, followed by electron transfer from Cr（Ⅲ） to mn（Ⅲ or Ⅳ）, the formation of a successor complex with mn（Ⅱ） and Cr（Ⅵ）, and the breakdown of the successor complex and release of mn（Ⅱ） and Cr（Ⅵ） into the soil solution.

Food packaging materials compounded with antimicrobial additives can substantially diminish the incidence of foodborne ***,poly(L-lactic acid)(pLA)films containing sodium metabisulfite(Nam)were produced by melt extrusion as an attempt to develop a new biodegradable material with antimicrobial properties for *** cycle assessment(LCA)simulations revealed that the environmental footprints of the pLA film did not change upon Nam addition,and that Nam is more eco-friendly than silver *** pLA/Nam films with Nam content varying from 0.5 to 5.0 wt.%were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),and optical and mechanical properties *** optical properties were sustained after the addition of Nam,but high Nam contents degraded the light transparence of the pLA matrix at some *** thermal stability and tensile properties of the pLA film decreased proportionally to the Nam content,while no changes were observed on Tg,Tm and Xc,as determined by *** diffusion tests revealed that the pLA/Nam films had no antimicrobial activity on Saccharomyces cerevisiae at 35°C,which was related to the limited migration of Nam from the glassy pLA *** biodegradable pLA films compounded with Nam through melt extrusion display adequate optical,thermal,and mechanical properties to cover most food packaging applications,representing an essential step toward the development of eco-friendly packaging materials that can potentially exhibit an antimicrobially active surface.

BACKGROUND An isthmocele is a scar defect in the uterine wall due to a cesarean section. Its prevalence is unknown,but it has been associated with secondary ***,we present a case where the patient suffered from an isthmocele that was associated with persistent hydrometra,which developed during in vitro *** SUmmARY The patient underwent hysteroscopic surgery,which successfully resolved the isthmocele as well as the hydrometra. Afterward,two high-quality,euploid embryos,determined by morphological assessment and pre-implantation genetic diagnostic testing,were transferred. This resulted in uterine pregnancy,as determined byserum β-human chorionic gonadotropin levels on day 14(180 m U/mL) and ultrasound-confirmed presence of a gestational sac with a positive embryocardia at week 6. The pregnancy reached 36 wk without any complications,and the product was born in good health. We report a successful isthmocele treatment in a patient with secondary infertility,in which the isthmocele was the cause of persistent *** Hydrometra caused by secondary cesarean is an infertility factor,which can be corrected by hysteroscopy plus ablation of the isthmocele.
