Energy and exergy analysis of syngas production from different biomasses through air-steam gasification

Gasification is a thermo-chemical reaction which converts biomass into fuel gases in a *** efficiency of conversion depends on the effective working of the *** first step in the conversion process is the selection of a suitable feedstock capable of generating more gaseous *** paper analyses the performance of different biomasses during gasification through energy and exergy analysis.A quasi-equilibrium model is developed to simulate and compare the feasibility of different biomass materials as gasifier ***-metric studies are conducted to analyze the effect of temperature,steam to biomass ratio and equivalence ratio on energy and exergy *** the biomasses considered,sawdust has the highest energy and exergy efficiencies and lowest *** a gasification temperature of 1000 K,the steam to biomass ratio of unity and the equivalence ratio of 0.25,the energy efficiency,exergy efficiency and irreversibility of sawdust are 35.62%,36.98%and 10.62 MJ/kg,*** is also inferred that the biomass with lower ash content and higher carbon content contributes to maximum energy and exergy efficiencies.

This work presents a comparative study of n-SnS and p-SnS active layers for increased solar cell efficiency. Tin sulphide thin films of various thicknesses having p-type and n-type conductivity were fabricated by thermal evaporation. Both type of films had the same（113） orientation of the crystal planes with a constant tensile strain of ~ 0.003 and ~ 0.011, respectively. The persistent photocurrent was observed in all n-SnS and p-SnS samples with the current＇s time decay constant decreasing with increasing film thickness. Hole mobility of thicker p-SnS films was found to be greater than the electron mobility in n-SnS samples, with mobility（both hole and electron） showing an increasing trend with film thickness. The optimum absorber layer thickness for both p-and n-SnS layers should have a high value of diffusion length for a given absorption coefficient and band-gap.

The present paper discusses the performance of ITO/pEDOT：pSS/n-SnS/A1 structured solar cells fab- ricated by thermal evaporation. The performance characterizing parameters such as the open circuit voltage, short circuit current density, series resistance, parallel resistance, ideality factor and the overall efficiency were found to be dependent on the SnS grain size in the nano-meter regime and incident light intensity. The experimental work directly reconfirms the theoretical results and ideas raised in the literature by early researchers.

Fog computing is a promising technology that has been emerged to handle the growth of smart devices as well as the popularity of latency-sensitive and location-awareness Internet of Things(IoT)*** the emergence of IoT-based services,the industry of internet-based devices has *** number of these devices has raised from millions to billions,and it is expected to increase further in the near ***,additional challenges will be added to the traditional centralized cloud-based architecture as it will not be able to handle that growth and to support all connected devices in real-time without affecting the user *** data aggregation models for Fog enabled IoT environ-ments possess high computational complexity and communication ***-fore,in order to resolve the issues and improve the lifetime of the network,this study develops an effective hierarchical data aggregation with chaotic barnacles mating optimizer(HDAG-CBMO)*** HDAG-CBMO technique derives afitness function from many relational matrices,like residual energy,average distance to neighbors,and centroid degree of target ***,a chaotic theory based population initialization technique is derived for the optimal initial position of ***,a learning based data offloading method has been developed for reducing the response time to IoT user requests.A wide range of simulation analyses demonstrated that the HDAG-CBMO technique has resulted in balanced energy utilization and prolonged lifetime of the Fog assisted IoT networks.

BACKGROUND 2D-echocardiography(2DE)has been the primary imaging modality in children with Kawasaki disease(KD)to assess coronary *** To report the presence and implications of incidental congenital coronary artery anomalies that had been misinterpreted as coronary artery abnormalities(CAAs)on *** Records of children diagnosed with KD,who underwent computed tomography coronary angiography(CTCA)at our center between 2013-2023 were *** identified 3 children with congenital coronary artery anomalies in this cohort on *** of CTCA and 2DE were compared in these 3 *** Of the 241 patients with KD who underwent CTCA,3(1.24%)had congenital coronary artery anomalies on CTCA detected *** all 3 patients,baseline 2DE had identified *** was then performed for detailed evaluation as per our unit ***(11-year-boy)amongst the 3 patients had complete KD,while the other two(3.3-year-boy;4-month-girl)had incomplete *** revealed separate origins of left anterior descending artery and left circumflex from left sinus[misinterpreted as dilated left main coronary artery(LCA)on 2DE],single coronary artery(interpreted as dilated LCA on 2DE)and dilated right coronary artery on 2DE in case of anomalous origin of LCA from the main pulmonary *** latter one was subsequently operated *** CTCA is essential for detailed assessment of coronary arteries in children with KD especially in cases where there is suspicion of congenital coronary artery *** solely on 2DE may not be sufficient in such cases,and findings from CTCA can significantly impact therapeutic decision-making.

An assessment of anomalies in the hierarchical organization of the drainage network in the Kuttiyadi River Basin(KuRB),Kerala,has been performed by considering various morphometric parameters such as bifurcation index(R),hierarchical anomaly index(Δa),hierarchical anomaly density(ga),and stream gradient index(SL)in a geographical information system(GIS)***,a digital elevation model(DEM)of the area has been generated from Cartosat stereo pair data at 2.5-m *** computed quantitative information about drainage characteristics reveals the highest drainage anomaly is observed in sub-watersheds(SW)III and *** is observed that neo-tectonic activity caused the development of younger stage drainage patterns of structural controls in the sub-watersheds of this river *** tectonic activityinduced diffusion,high energy fluvial erosion,and anthropogenic interferences altered the hierarchical organization of the drainage network of the sub-watersheds in mature to old stages of geomorphic *** results of finding validated with asymmetry factor and ratio of the hierarchical index(Δa)with hierarchical anomaly number(A),bifurcation index(R),direct bifurcation ratio(Rdb),stream gradient index(SL),and denudation index(logTu).From the denudation index analysis,the sediment yield of the river basin is identified as 0.67 t·km^(−2)·yr^(−1).Moreover,the asymmetric factor(AF)in the KuRB shows the imprints of paleo−Neo proterozoic crustal tilting toward a NNW−SSE direction.

The implementation of natural fibres in polymer composites will result in biodegradable,low cost,recyclable materials for automobile and structural *** the process of making natural fibre composites viable in the global market,it is essential to understand its mechanical and physical *** the present investigation,mechanical and physical properties of pineapple Leaf(pALF)and Sun Hemp(SH)Fibre reinforced with epoxy matrix was studied in terms of weight(wt)%of fibre loading and chemical *** composites were fabricated by compression moulding technique with pALF fibre content varying from 10,15 and 20%of weight *** pALF and SHF were treated with NaOH solution for 1 h at room *** various mechanical properties such as tensile,compression,flexural and impact strength were measured as per ASTM *** density and water absorption were also measured to study the physical properties of the fabricated *** treated composites exhibit a rough surface because of the removal of the cellulose layer which results in better adhesion between the matrix/fibre interface than untreated *** NaOH treated fibres composites outperformed untreated fibre composites in terms of mechanical and physical properties except for impact *** morphological studies of the worn surfaces are examined using Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM).
