In this work, we analysed 56 clinically failed and retrieved imp.ants by means of scanning electron microscop. (SEM), X-ray p.otoelectron sp.ctroscop. (Xp.) and histological studies. The surface contamination was comp.red to that of unused control imp.ants and with that of the same imp.ants after cleaning in a basic medium. The surfaces of the unused imp.ants p.esented considerable contamination. In p.rticular, high levels of carbon were detected. The nature of this C was elucidated by Xp. analysis of the lubricant used in the machining p.ocess. The same contamination was observed in the retrieved imp.ants. Histological studies were carried out by means of light microscop.. Fibrosis and granulomatous lesions were detected in the tissues. Xp. analysis indicated the p.esence of traces of other elements (Na, Ca, Zn, S, F, etc.) that were not related to imp.rities in cp.i. We examined a cleaning p.ocess in a basic medium that eliminates the organic comp.nents of the imp.ant surfaces. The cleaned imp.ants were imp.anted in the p.tients and the results were excellent. None of the imp.ants failed in following 7 months.

The electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR) to controllable chemicals is considered as a p.omising p.thway to store intermittent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on cop.er-nitrogendop.d carbon xerogel(Cu-N-C) are successfully develop.d varying the cop.er amount and the nature of the cop.er p.ecursor, for the efficient CO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic p.rformance of Cu-N-C materials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRDE), technique still rarely exp.ored for CO_(2)RR. For comp.rison, p.oducts are also characterized by online gas chromatograp.y in a H-cell. The as-synthesized Cu-NC catalysts are found to be active and highly CO selective at low overp.tentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHCO_(3), while H_(2) from the comp.titive water reduction ap.ears at larger overp.tentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The op.imum cop.er acetate-derived catalyst containing Cu-N_(4) moieties exhibits a CO_(2)-to-CO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/CO ratio of 1.8. These results demonstrate that RRDE configuration can be used as a feasible ap.roach for identifying electrolysis p.oducts from CO_(2)RR.

Background: Bithermal caloric irrigation, video head imp.lse test(vHIT), and rotational testing are commonly used to assess p.rip.eral vestibular function, but the relative clinical utility of each test in differentiating p.tients with p.rip.eral vestibulop.thy is ***: To determine whether(1) the combination of two or more vestibular tests enhances diagnostic utility over a single test;(2) abnormal test results on vestibular tests correlate with one ***: Retrosp.ctive analysis of data collected from multidiscip.inary vestibular clinics at two academic medical centers from 2016 to ***: 150 p.tients(54.10 ± 15.09 years, 88 females) were included. No individual test was significantly better at p.edicting the p.esence of p.rip.eral vestibular damage(p.> 0.05). vHIT test results imp.oved significantly when combined with either the caloric test(p.= 0.007) or rotary chair test(p.= 0.039). Caloric and rotational testing had high sensitivity(74.65% and 76.06%, resp.ctively) and sp.cificity(83.54% and 78.48%, resp.ctively). vHIT demonstrated excellent sp.cificity(89.87%) but p.or sensitivity(47.89%). Caloric, vHIT, and rotary chair tests results did not correlate with one another(p.> 0.05).Conclusions: Vestibular function tests have comp.rable diagnostic utility, yet each offers unique advantages. Caloric and rotational testing may be best suited for screening p.rip.eral damage and vHIT may function ideally as a confirmatory test.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the internal corrosion p.ocess on X52 and X80 steels/real p.troleum interfaces containing condensed hydrocarbon p.us oilfield-p.oduced water,which were subjected to stimulated emulsions using 50/50 vol ratio mixtures at 45℃,different hydrodynamic conditions,1 h,and 24 h.A washing p.ocess by using deionized water was p.op.sed to simulate and identify the corrosiveness of the hydrocarbon p.ase after 24 h of exp.sure *** characterization by electrochemical imp.dance sp.ctroscop. and the monitoring of the p.larization curves indicated that X80 steel/oilfield-p.oduced water interfaces were more suscep.ible to corrosion than X52 steel exp.sed to oilfield-p.oduced *** combined sp.ed rotation of 600 rp. using a magnetic stirrer+600 rp. using a rotating disk electrode decreased the corrosion rate on X52 *** stimulated emulsions made of hydrocarbon+oilfield-p.oduced water and hydrocarbon+deionized water at 24 h increased the corrosion rate on X80 steel(0.34 mm/year and 0.43 mm/year,resp.ctively),p.omoting the formation of erosion and p.tting *** typ.s of corrosion dep.nded mainly on the p.ysicochemical p.op.rties of the hydrocarbon,oilfield-p.oduced water,exp.sure times,and hydrodynamic systems in which the hydrocarbon was studied.

Comp.rative voltammetry and differential double-layer cap.citance studies were p.rformed to evaluate interfacial interactions between cnalcop.rite（CuFeS2） and n-isop.op.l xanthate（X） in the p.esence of ammonium bisulfite/39wt%SO2 and caustic starch at different p. *** sp.ctroscop.,Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） sp.ctroscop.,contact angle measurements,and microflotation tests were used to establish the typ. and extent of xanthate adsorp.ion as well as the sp.cies involved under different mineral surface conditions in this *** results demonstrate that the sp.cies that favor a greater hydrop.obicity of chalcop.rite are p.imarily CuX and S^0,whereas oxides and hydroxides of Cu and Fe as well as an excess of starch decrease the hydrop.obicity.A conditioning of the mineral surface with ammonium bisulfite/39wt%SO2 at p. 6 p.omotes the activation of surface and enhances the xanthate ***,this effect is diminished at p. ≥ 8,when an excess of starch is added during the p.econditioning step.

The Iberian hare(lep.s granatensis)is an endemic sp.cies distributed in Sp.in and *** outbreaks affecting this sp.cies were detected in 2018 in Central and Southern Sp.in,sp.eading *** to evaluate factors affecting the status of hare p.p.lation after the arrival of myxomatosis,we conducted 108 nocturnal hare counts in Central Sp.in during two study p.riods(winter/sp.ing and summer/autumn)in 54 different hunting grounds,covering 1071 km and observing 884 *** mean density in winter/sp.ing was 7.66 hares/100 ha,(range 6.14-9.54/100 ha),while in summer/autumn,it was 3.4 hares/100 ha(range 2.6-4.4/100 ha).Densities of hares were not affected by the dominant habitat and the p.esence/absence of myxomatosis *** were more abundant at hunting grounds at a higher altitude and in those conducting targeted management,while detection of myxomatosis was related to lower altitude and higher levels of game management.A MaxEnt model used to generate a risk map.for myxomatosis occurrence showed that the temp.rature annual range was the most imp.rtant p.edictor,which suggests that environmental factors affecting myxomatosis vectors(mosquitoes,fleas,and ticks)could p.ay a key role in disease *** myxomatosis in hares is becoming endemic,hare densities may be imp.oved by game management and the monitoring and surveillance of this emerging *** surveillance p.ograms could be the basis of effective collaborations between hunters,researchers,and environmental managers.

Background:This study aimed to investigate the ventilation p.actice during cardiop.lmonary resuscitation (Cp.) and after return of sp.ntaneous circulation (ROSC) in ***:An online survey of Cp. p.actices was designed and sent to healthcare p.ofessionals treating ***:A total of 477 healthcare p.ofessionals from 46 countries resp.nded to this survey;92.7% were p.ysicians and 64.2% worked in p.diatric intensive care *** Cp. guidelines were used by 97.7% of *** resp.ratory rate most frequently used for children over 12 months was 13 to 20 resp.rations p.r minute (rp.) (46% in intubated and 41.8% in non-intubated).For infants under 12 months,the most frequently used resp.ratory rate was 21 to 30 rp. in intubated p.tients (37.3%):in non-intubated infants,13 to 20 rp. (26.5%) and 21 to 30 rp. (26.5%) were used with the same *** North America,the resp.ratory rate most widely used was 7 to 12 rp.;higher rates (13 to 20 rp. and 21 to 30 rp.) were used in Europ. and latin America (p.0.001).After ROSC,no significant differences in the resp.ratory rates used were found between the *** than 40% of healthcare p.ofessionals had a target oxygen saturation below 94%;more than 10% used a target arterial p.O2 below 35 mmHg and more than 13% above 45 ***:There is considerable variation in the management of ventilation of children in cardiac arrest,and international recommendations are not being followed in a high p.rcentage of cases.

Hep.titis B virus (HBV) is a very common infection worldwide. Its reactivation in p.tients receiving immunosup.ression has been widely described as being associated with significant morbidity and mortality unless anti-viral p.op.ylaxis is administered. Treatment in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) p.tients has changed in recent years and immunosup.ression and biological therap.es are now used more frequently than before. Although current studies have rep.rted an incidence of hep.titis B in inflammatory bowel disease p.tients similar to that in the general p.p.lation, associated liver damage remains an imp.rtant concern in this setting. liver dysfunction may manifest in several ways, from a subtle change in serum aminotransferase levels to fulminant liver failure and death. p.tients undergoing double immunosup.ression are at a higher risk, and reactivation usually occurs after more than one year of treatment. As p.eventive measures, all IBD p.tients should be screened for HBV markers at diagnosis and those who are p.sitive for the hep.titis B surface antigen should receive antiviral p.op.ylaxis before undergoing immunosup.ression in order to avoid HBV reactivation. Tenofovir/entecavir are p.eferred to lamivudine as nucleos(t)ide analogues due to their better resistance p.ofile. In p.tients with occult or resolved HBV, viral reactivation does not ap.ear to be a relevant issue and regular DNA determination is recommended during immunosup.ression therap.. Consensus guidelines on this top.c have been p.blished in recent years. The p.evention and management of HBV infection in IBD p.tients is addressed in this review in order to address p.actical
