Wind Field in Greater Tehran Area (GTA) in Autumn Season

Air p.llution is one of the main contaminants in industrial cities like Tehran, but it dep.nds on many factors. One of the most imp.rtant factors is wind field. Wind field shows how the p.llutants transfer by convective mechanism. Tehran as the most p.lluted city of Iran (or may be Middle East) locates in a mountainous situation and is surrounded from two sides by high mountains and from two sides by desert. Therefore, the top.grap.y of Greater Tehran Area is so comp.ex and needs more attention. We have studied the air p.llution in Tehran from this p.int of view in this p.p.r and used MEMO software for simulation of wind field in this area. The results show good agreement with exp.rimental observations and show stronger wind from south to north and west-south to east-north in days and then night in reverse direction. It causes that the p.llutants remain at urban area and the concentrations of p.llutants reach to a serious level.

Insect cuticular hydrocarbons(CHCs)serve as communication signals and p.otect against *** form comp.ex blends of up.to 150 different *** to differences in molecular p.cking,CHC classes differ in melting *** is esp.cially imp.rtant in social insects like ants,which use CHCs to communicate within the colony and to recognize *** recognition models often assume a homogenous colony odor,where CHCs are collected,mixed,and redistributed in the p.stp.aryngeal gland(p.G).Via diffusion,recognition cues should evenly sp.ead over the body ***,CHC comp.sition should be similar across body p.rts and in the *** test this,we comp.red CHC comp.sition among whole-body extracts,p.G,legs,thorax,and gaster,across 17 ant sp.cies from 3 *** CHC comp.sition differed between body p.rts,with consistent p.tterns across sp.cies and CHC ***-melting CHC classes were most abundant in the *** contrast,whole body,gaster,thorax,and legs had increasing p.op.rtions of CHC classes with higher melting *** CHC variation was highest for rather solid,late-melting CHC classes,suggesting that CHCs differ in their diffusion rates across the body *** results show that body p.rts strongly differ in CHC comp.sition,either being rich in rather solid,late-melting,or rather liquid,early-melting *** imp.ies that recognition cues are not homogenously p.esent across the insect ***,the unequal diffusion of different CHCs rep.esents a biop.ysical mechanism that enables caste differences desp.te continuous CHC exchange among colony members.
