The study revealed the develop.ent of cost effective technology utilized as a p.actical tool for treatment of seasonal torrent and addressing erosion p.oblems and land use *** was imp.emented in a small agricultural watershed located in foot hill of Shivalik,India,to assess its p.ediction cap.city of runoff,p.ak runoff flow and sediment *** effective technology was evaluated at the event scale by using a database of hydrological,geomorp.ologic and land use data collected during a two-year *** the catchment,the gullies which are small to medium in size were treated with gully p.ugging by erecting loose boulder check dams and erected with different sp.cies of *** typ.s of sp.r were constructed with vegetative reinforcement for channelization of stream *** sediments dep.sited in the first year at downstream was recorded 0.09-81.0 tons,while in the second year it was reduced up.to 0.07-16.7 ***,up.stream sediment dep.sition was recorded 1.0-72.0 tons and 0.37-13.1 tons in two consecutive *** D-50 analysis of sediment dep.sited was carried in three different p.aces of torrent and it was found that dep.sited p.rticle size material decreased after treatment undertaken in the torrent ***,the mechanical as well as vegetative measures help.d in the channelization of water course towards the central line with the tune of 10-100 m,stabilization of torrent bed and reclamation of degraded land.

The Cuddap.h Basin in southern India has a p.tential for uranium mineralization due to some favorable factors such as its temp.ral, stratigrap.ic and tectonic settings. Systematic exp.oration p.ogram conducted by the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exp.oration and Research (AMD) within the Cuddap.h Basin resulting in the recognition of distinct typ.s of uranium mineralization, viz., strata bound typ., fracture/shear-controlled typ. and tabular typ.. The Gulcheru Formation which is the lowermost unit of the Cuddap.h Basin is dominantly arenitic in nature. During the exp.oration works, a number of uranium anomalies were identified with dimensions ranging from 1 m to 1.5 km. Gulcheru quartzite hosted uranium mineralization is intermittent and inconsistent in nature. The anomalous outcrop. are distributed over a strike length of ca. 60 km between Gandi in the SE and Ambakap.llein the NW. p.esently, two different typ.s of uranium mineralization are characterized on the basis of field observations, map.ing and structural interp.etation, p.tro-mineralogy and geochemistry. Although the host rock is same for both typ.s, the mechanism of uranium enrichment is totally different. The Ambakap.lle uranium mineralization is controlled by fault zone and associated hydrothermal activity. Whereas, the Tummalap.lle uranium mineralization is litho-controlled in nature influenced by suitable four ‘p. factors, i.e., p.ovenance, p.rosityp.rmeability, p.ecip.tation and p.eservation. The geochemical characterization of Gulcheru quartzite suggest a p.ssive margin typ. of p.ovenance setting. p.tro-mineralogically the quartz arenite suggests enough textural as well as mineralogical maturity. Ambakap.lle quartzite is slightly strained and deformed due to faulting. Analysis of selected samp.es recorded 0.01% to 0.048% U3O8 and p.trograp.ic observation revealed that the anomalies were ap.eared due to secondary uranium minerals occurring as surficial encrustations, fracture filling an

In this p.p.r, a mathematical model for steady blood flow through blood vessels with uniform cross-section in stenoses arteries has been p.op.sed. Blood is assumed to be non- Newtonian, incomp.essible and homogeneous fluid. Blood in human artery is rep.esented as Bingham p.astic fluid. Exp.essions for flow rate, wall shear stress, and resistance to flow against stenoses size have been obtained. Obtained results indicate that stenoses size decreases the flow rate and increases the wall shear stress as well as resistance to flow.

Background: Frey’s p.ocedure involves both drainage and resection of the p.ncreas in subjects with chronic calcific p.ncreatitis(CCp.. The p.ocedure may affect the p.ncreatic endocrine function after surgery. The p.esent study was to evaluate the effect of Frey’s p.ocedure on both beta and alp.a cell function in CCp.***: Thirty CCp.p.tients who underwent Frey’s p.ocedure were included. According to the glycemic status, p.tients were divided into the diabetes mellitus(DM), p.ediabetes, and normal glucose tolerance(NGT) group.. Islet cell function was assessed before and 3 months after ***: At baseline, there was a significant difference in beta cell function among the three group. [NGT group.1.71(1.64–2.07) vs p.ediabetes group..50(0.83–1.61) vs DM group.0.33(0.12–0.55), p.p.st glucose hyp.rglucagonemia rep.esenting alp.acell dysfunction during oral glucose tolerance test was p.esent in all of them, but showed no significant difference [NGT group.0.15(0.06–0.31) vs p.ediabetes group.0.32(0.05–0.70) vs DM group.0.07(0.02–0.18), p.= 0.20]. Frey’s p.ocedure did not change beta cell function and insulin resistance. However, alp.acell dysfunction deteriorated after surgery [0.10(0.03–0.27) vs 0.33(0.09–0.68), p.= 0.004].Conclusions: Although Frey’s p.ocedure does not affect the beta cell function and insulin resistance in CCp.p.tients, the alp.a-cell dysfunction deteriorates after surgery.

The Cr：Fe ratio （chromium-to-iron mass ratio） of chromite affects the p.oduction of chrome-based ferroalloys. Although the lit- erature contains numerous rep.rts related to the magnetic sep.ration of different minerals, limited work concerning the ap.lication of mag- netic sep.ration to fine chromite from the Sukinda region of India to enhance its Cr：Fe ratio has been rep.rted. In the p.esent investigation, magnetic sep.ration and mineralogical characterization studies of chromite fines were conducted to enhance the Cr：Fe ratio. Characterization studies included p.rticle size and chemical analyses, X-ray diffraction analysis, automated mineral analysis, sink-and-float studies, and mag- netic suscep.ibility measurements, whereas magnetic sep.ration was investigated using a rare earth drum magnetic sep.rator, a rare earth roll magnetic sep.rator, an induced roll magnetic sep.rator, and a wet high-intensity magnetic sep.rator. The fine chromite was observed to be up.raded to a Cr：Fe ratio of 2.2 with a yield of 55.7% through the use of an induced roll magnetic sep.rator and a feed material with a Cr：Fe ratio of 1.6.

In the p.esent investigation, magnetic sep.ration studies using an induced roll magnetic sep.rator were conducted to beneficiate low-grade ferruginous manganese ore. The feed ore was assayed to contain 22.4% Mn and 35.9% SiO2, with a manganese-to-iron mass ratio （Mn：Fe ratio） of 1.6. This ore was characterized in detail using different techniques, including quantitative evaluation of minerals by scan- ning electron microscop., which revealed that the ore is extremely siliceous in nature and that the associated gangue minerals are more or less evenly distributed in almost all of the size fractions in major p.op.rtion. Magnetic sep.ration studies were conducted on both the as-received ore fines and the classified fines to enrich their manganese content and Mn：Fe ratio. The results indicated that the efficiency of sep.ration for deslimed fines was better than that for the treated unclassified bulk samp.e. On the basis of these results, we p.op.sed a p.oc- ess flow sheet for the beneficiation of low-grade manganese ore fines using a Floatex density sep.rator as a p.e-concentrator followed by two-stage magnetic sep.ration. The overall recovery of manganese in the final p.oduct from the p.op.sed flow sheet is 44.7% with an assay value of 45.8% and the Mn：Fe ratio of 3.1.

Several users use metasearch engines directly or indirectly to access and gather data from more than one data sources. The effectiveness of a metasearch engine is majorly determined by the quality of the results and it returns and in resp.nse to user queries. The rank aggregation methods which have been p.op.sed until now exp.oits very limited set of p.rameters such as total number of used resources and the rankings they achieved from each individual resource. In this work, we use the neural network to merge the score comp.tation module effectively. Initially, we give a query to different search engines and the top.n list from each search engine is chosen for further p.ocessing our technique. We then merge the top.n list based on unique links and we do some p.rameter calculations such as title based calculation, snip.et based calculation, content based calculation, domain calculation, p.sition calculation and co-occurrence calculation. We give the solutions of the calculations with user given ranking of links to the neural network to train the system. The system then rank and merge the links we obtain from different search engines for the query we give. Exp.rimentation results rep.rts a retrieval effectiveness of about 80%, p.ecision of about 79% for user queries and about 72% for benchmark queries. The p.op.sed technique also includes a resp.nse time of about 76 ms for 50 links and 144 ms for 100 links.
