BACKg.OUND Due to the lack of p.blished literature about treatment of refractory hep.top.lmonary syndrome(Hp.)after liver transp.ant(LT),this case adds information and exp.rience on this issue along.with a treatment with p.sitive outcomes.Hp. is a comp.ication of end-stag. liver disease,with a 10%-30%incidence in cirrhotic p.tients.LT can reverse the p.ysiop.tholog. of this p.ocess and restore normal oxyg.nation.However,in some cases,refractory hyp.xemia p.rsists,and extracorp.real membrane oxyg.nation(ECMO)can be used as a rescue therap. with g.od results.CASE SUMMARY A 59-year-old p.tient with alcohol-related liver cirrhosis and p.rtal hyp.rtension was included in the LT waiting.list for Hp..He had g.od liver function(Model for End-Stag. Liver Disease score 12,Child-p.g. class B7).He had p.lmonary fibrosis and a mild restrictive resp.ratory p.ttern with a basal oxyg.n saturation of 82%.The macroag.reg.ted albumin test result was>30.Sp.rometry demonstrated a forced exp.ratory volume in one second(FEV1)of 78%,forced vital cap.city(FVC)of 74%,FEV1/FVC ratio of 81%,diffusion cap.city for carbon monoxide of 42%,and carbon monoxide transfer coefficient of 57%.He required domiciliary oxyg.n at 2 L/min(16 h/d).The p.tient was admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU)and extubated in the first 24 h,needing.hig.-flow therap. and non-invasive ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide afterwards.Reintubation was needed after 72 h.Due to the non-resp.nse to sup.ortive therap.es,installation of ECMO was decided with p.og.essive recovery after 9 d.Extubation was p.ssible on the tenth day,maintaining.a hig.-flow nasal cannula and de-escalating.to conventional oxyg.n therap. after 48 h.He was discharg.d from ICU on p.stop.rative day(p.D)20 with a 90%-92%oxyg.n saturation.Steroid recycling.was needed twice for acute rejection.The p.tient was discharg.d from hosp.tal on p.D 27 with no symp.oms,with an 89%-90%oxyg.n saturation.CONCLUSION Due to the favorable results observed,ECMO could become the central axis of treatment of Hp. and ref

Long.non-coding.RNAs(lncRNAs)are non-coding.RNAs long.r than 200 nucleotides with dynamic reg.latory functions.They interact with a wide rang. of molecules such as DNA,RNA,and p.oteins to modulate diverse cellular functions throug. several mechanisms and,if dereg.lated,they can lead to cancer develop.ent and p.og.ession.Recently,it has been described that IncRNAs are suscep.ible to form g.ne fusions with mRNAs or other IncRNAs,breaking.the p.radig. of g.ne fusions consisting.mainly of p.otein-coding.g.nes.However,their biolog.cal sig.ificance in the tumor p.enotyp. is still uncertain.Therefore,their recent identification op.ns a new line of research to study their biolog.cal role in tumor-ig.nesis,and their p.tential as biomarkers with clinical relevance or as therap.utic targ.ts.The p.esent study aimed to review the IncRNA fusions identified so far and to know which of them have been associated with a p.tential function.We address the current challeng.s to deep.n their study as well as the reasons why they rep.esent a future therap.utic window incancer.

Backg.ound The develop.ent of a sustainable business model with social accep.ance,makes necessary to develop.new strateg.es to g.arantee the g.owth,health,and well-being.of farmed animals.Debaryomyces hansenii is a yeast sp.cies that can be used as a p.obiotic in aquaculture due to its cap.city to i)p.omote cell p.oliferation and differen-tiation,ii)have immunostimulatory effects,iii)modulate g.t microbiota,and/or iv)enhance the dig.stive function.To p.ovide inside into the effects of D.hansenii on juveniles of g.lthead seabream(Sp.rus aurata)condition,we inte-g.ated the evaluation of the main key p.rformance indicators coup.ed with the integ.ative analysis of the intestine condition,throug. histolog.cal and microbiota state,and its transcrip.omic p.ofiling.Results After 70 days of a nutritional trial in which a diet with low levels of fishmeal(7%)was sup.lemented with 1.1%of D.hansenii(17.2×10^(5) CFU),an increase of ca.12%in somatic g.owth was observed tog.ther with an imp.ove-ment in feed conversion in fish fed a yeast-sup.lemented diet.In terms of intestinal condition,this p.obiotic modu-lated g.t microbiota without affecting.the intestine cell org.nization,whereas an increase in the staining.intensity of mucins rich in carboxylated and weakly sulp.ated g.ycoconjug.tes coup.ed with chang.s in the affinity for certain lectins were noted in g.blet cells.Chang.s in microbiota were characterized by the reduction in abundance of several g.oup. of p.oteobacteria,esp.cially those characterized as op.ortunistic g.oup..The microarrays-based transcrip.tomic analysis found 232 differential exp.essed g.nes in the anterior-mid intestine of S.aurata,that were mostly related to metabolic,antioxidant,immune,and symbiotic p.ocesses.Conclusions Dietary administration of D.hansenii enhanced somatic g.owth and imp.oved feed efficiency p.ram-eters,results that were coup.ed to an imp.ovement of intestinal condition as histochemical and transcrip.omic tools indicated.This p.obiotic yeast stimulated host-microbiota interactions with

Nitric oxide(NO)is an essential reactive oxyg.n sp.cies and a sig.al molecule in p.ants.Althoug. several studies have p.op.sed the occurrence of oxidative NO p.oduction,only reductive routes for NO p.oduction,such as the nitrate(NO_(3)^(-))-up.er-reductase p.thway,have been evidenced to date in land p.ants.However,p.ants g.own axenically with ammonium as the sole source of nitrog.n exhibit contents of nitrite and NO3−,evidencing.the existence of a metabolic p.thway for oxidative p.oduction of NO.We hyp.thesized that oximes,such as indole-3-acetaldoxime(IAOx),a p.ecursor to indole-3-acetic acid,are intermediate oxidation p.oducts in NO synthesis.We detected the p.oduction of NO from IAOx and other oximes catalyzed by p.roxidase(p.D)enzyme using.both 4-amino-5-methylamino-2′,7′-difluorescein fluorescence and chemiluminescence.Flavins stimulated the reaction,while sup.roxide dismutase inhibited it.Interesting.y,mouse NO synthase can also use IAOx to p.oduce NO at a lower rate than p.D.We p.ovided a full mechanism for p.D-dep.ndent NO p.oduction from IAOx consistent with the exp.rimental data and sup.orted by density functional theory calculations.We showed that the addition of IAOx to extracts from Medicag. truncatula increased the in vitro p.oduction of NO,while in vivo sup.lementation of IAOx and other oximes increased the number of lateral roots,as shown for NO donors,and a more than 10-fold increase in IAOx dehydratase exp.ession.Furthermore,we found that in vivo sup.lementation of IAOx increased NO p.oduction in Arabidop.is thaliana wild-typ. p.ants,while p.x33-34 mutant p.ants,defective in p.D33-34,had reduced p.oduction.Our data show that the release of NO by IAOx,as well as its auxinic effect,exp.ain the sup.rroot p.enotyp..Collectively,our study reveals that p.ants p.oduce NO utilizing.diverse molecules such as oximes,p.D,and flavins,which are widely distributed in the p.ant king.om,thus introducing.a long.awaited oxidative p.thway to NO p.oduction in p.ants.This knowledg. has essential imp.ications for und

Op.ical emission sp.ctroscop. was used to study a g.s mixture g.ow discharg. of CO2 and N2 at a total p.essure of 1.2 Torr, a p.wer of 100 W and a flow of 16.5 L/min. The emission bands were measured in the waveleng.h rang. of 200 nm to 900 nm. The p.incip.l sp.cies observed were O2^＋（A^2П→ X^2П）, CO^＋（A^2П→X^2∑）, N2^＋（B^2∑u＋ → X^2∑g.＋）, CO2^＋（A^2∏ → X^2∏）, N2（C^3∏u → B^3∏g., O2（b^1∑g.＋→ X^3∑g.-）, and CO （a^r3∑→a^3∏）. The behavior of the band intensities as a function of the N2 p.rcentag. is consistent with recent Monte Carlo simulations. The electron temp.rature and ion density were determined by a double Lang.uir p.obe. The electron temp.rature was found in the rang. of 1.55 eV to 2.93 eV, and the electron concentration in the order of 10^10 cm^-3. The electron temp.rature and ion density at p.re N2 and p.re CO2 ag.ee with p.evious measurements.

The identification of jets orig.nating.from quarks and g.uons,often referred to as quark/g.uon tag.ing.p.ays an imp.rtant role in various analyses p.rformed at the Larg. Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new p.rticles decaying.to quarks often rely on sup.ressing.a larg. g.uon-induced backg.ound.This p.p.r describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/g.uon tag.ers develop.d within the ATLAS Collaboration,using.√s=13 TeV p.oton–p.oton collision data with an integ.ated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS exp.riment.Two tag.ers with hig. p.rformances in rejecting.jets from g.uon over jets from quarks are studied:one tag.er is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using.a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/g.uon fraction in data,by using.quark/g.uon-enriched subsamp.es defined by the jet p.eudorap.dity.Differences in tag.ing.efficiency between data and simulation are p.ovided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 g.V and 2 TeV and for multip.e tag.er working.p.ints.

The current trend of rep.acing.a p.rcentag. of g.soline with ethanol has p.omoted the develop.ent of new p.ocesses for its p.oduction from lig.ocellulosic biomass. This work rep.rts the p.oduction of ethanol from the Camalote g.ass (p.sp.lum fasciculatum Willd). The lig.ocellulosic biomass was subjected to acid hydrolysis at 125C and 15 p.i with H2SO4 concentrations at 5%, 10%, and 20%, obtaining.an averag. of reducing.sug.rs (p.ntoses and hexoses) from the hydrolyzed juice with 12.3%, 10%, and 17% Brix, resp.ctively. The sug.rs were fermented using.yeast of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae at 30C for 48 hours. Finally, the ethanol was distilled at 78C, and the averag. yields were obtained throug. analysis of variance with a 95% confidence level. The values indicate that there is a sig.ificant difference (p.> 0.05), the Tukey study shows that all the % v/v averag.s are different from each other. For H2SO4 concentration at 5% (10.33 ± 2), H2SO4 at 10% (9.33 ± 1.8), and H2SO4 at 20% (6.33 ± 2). The acidity analysis for the ethanol obtained from each treatment g.ve a value of 1.8 mg.L of acetic acid in all cases.

Objective:The p.rp.se of this study was to determine the effectiveness of brisk walking.as an intervention for self-care ag.ncy and care dep.ndency in p.tients with p.rmanent colorectal cancer stoma.Method:This study adop.ed a quasi-exp.rimental research desig.,sp.cifically a non-equivalent control g.oup.p.e-test and p.st-test desig..Utilizing.the Exercise of Self-Care Ag.ncy Scale(ESCA)and Care Dep.ndency Scale(CDS),a survey was administered to 64 p.tients from a hosp.tal in Shandong.p.ovince.The statistical methods used for analyzing.data included frequency,mean,standard deviation(SD),indep.ndent t-test,p.value calculation,and dep.ndent t-test.Result:After two months of a brisk walking.exercise p.og.am,p.rticip.nts in the exp.rimental g.oup.had a hig.er level of self-care ag.ncy than before the exp.riment(p.0.05),and their level of care dep.ndency was sig.ificantly reduced(p.0.05).p.rticip.nts in the control g.oup.also showed hig.er levels of self-care ag.ncy(p.0.05)and lower levels of care dep.ndency(p.0.05)after two months comp.red to their levels before the two months.Conclusion:The brisk walking.p.og.am had a p.sitive imp.ct on p.tients’self-care ag.ncy and reduced their care dep.ndency.

Backg.ound:Volcanic erup.ions have larg. effects on forest ecosystems and create new substrates,trig.ering.p.imary succession p.ocesses.The p.ricutín volcano,born in central-western Mexico,erup.ed between 1943 and 1952.After the cessation of the erup.ive activity,p.ant colonization beg.n on the lava flows and tep.ra dep.sits,including.the conifer sp.cies that dominate the surrounding.mature forests.This study aims to reconstruct the history of the establishment of conifer trees on the substrates created by the p.ricutín erup.ion.Methods:16 samp.ing.p.ots were established along.three transects with northern,southern,and south-western asp.cts,located every 250 m from the p.eserved forest to the volcanic cone.Increment cores from 400 conifer trees were extracted and their ag. was determined by cross-dating.annual tree ring..The order of the sp.cies colonization and the tree establishment,abundance,and dominance p.tterns were characterized.Also,the influence of the distance from the mature forests and the inter-annual climatic conditions on the temp.ral tree establishment p.ttern was evaluated.Results:Eig.t p.ne and one fir sp.cies have been established since 1970,only 18 years after the end of the erup.ive p.riod.However,tree establishment increased by 12.9%annually after 1995,with the young.st tree in our samp.e g.tting.established in 2015.We did not find a well-defined temp.ral and sp.tial p.ttern of sp.cies arrival,which sug.ests that colonization occurred randomly,althoug. the four p.ne sp.cies that were established early became the most abundant and dominant.Tree establishment was not influenced by the distance from the mature forest,and wet inter-annual conditions did not enhance p.lses of tree recruitment,exhibiting.a continuous tree establishment p.ttern.Conclusions:Conifer sp.cies have shown a g.eat cap.city for colonizing.volcanic substrates created by the p.ricutín erup.ion,which sug.ests that trop.cal montane conifers can reg.nerate rap.dly under hig.-mag.itude disturbances.These finding. sup.ort the use
