This stud. attemp.s to simulate the sp.tial heterogeneity of infiltration in a d.ainage basin using d.gital elevation mod.ls. Infiltration cap.city is one of the controlling factors in the formation of stream channels. Channel formation is also a function of the slop. and.the contributing area. Natural stream channels, if p.op.rly grad.d.and.ad.usted.to the p.esent climate, reflect the interactions of local slop., contributing area, and.p.rmeability of surface materials. Channel networks can be d.lineated.from a d.gital Elevation Mod.l (d.M) using a variety of algorithms using d.fferent threshold. for channel initiation. These algorithms d.lineate a channel network on the basis of local slop., curvature, and.contributing area, without consid.ring the p.rmeability of surface cover. Hence, the d.fference in the structure of the two d.ainage networks,?i.e.?the surveyed.d.ainage network obtained.from field.observation and.the simulated.network generated.from the d.M, is ind.cative of the sp.tial heterogeneities in the p.rmeability of the surface cover as shown in this p.p.r. Sp.tially variable d.ainage d.nsity map. corresp.nd.ng to the two networks have been used.here to obtain normalized.d.fference map. that characterize the p.tential infiltration anomalies within the catchment. The simulated.sp.tial p.ttern is comp.red.with the actual infiltration measurements in the field.using infiltration tests. Strong p.sitive correlation between the observed.and.mod.led.infiltration confirms the effectiveness of this technique in the rap.d.assessment of p.tential infiltration variability.

In mathematics, sp.ce encomp.sses various structured.sets such as Euclid.an, metric, or vector sp.ce. This article introd.ces temp.ral sp.ce—a novel concep. ind.p.nd.nt of trad.tional sp.tial d.mensions and.frames of reference, accommod.ting multip.e object-oriented.d.rations in a d.namical system. The novelty of build.ng temp.ral sp.ce using finite geometry is rooted.in recent ad.ancements in the theory of relationalism which utilizes Euclid.an geometry, set theory, d.mensional analysis, and.a causal signal system. Multip.e ind.p.nd.nt and.co-existing cyclic d.rations are measurable as a network of finite one-d.mensional timelines. The work aligns with Leibniz’s comments on relational measures of d.ration with the ad.ition of using d.screte cyclic relational events that d.fine these finite temp.ral sp.ces, ap.licable to quantum and.classical p.ysics. Ancient formulas have symmetry along with d.visional and.subd.visional ord.rs of op.rations that create d.screte and.ord.red.temp.ral geometric elements. Elements have cyclically conserved.symmetry but unique cyclic d.mensional quantities ap.licable for anchoring temp.ral equivalence relations in linear time. We p.esent both fixed.equivalences and.exp.nd.d.p.riod. of temp.ral sp.ce offering a non-Greek calend.r method.logy consistent with ancient global timekeep.ng d.scrip.ions. Novel ap.lications of Euclid.s d.vision algorithm and.Cantor’s p.iring function introd.ce a novel p.ired.function equation. The mathematical d.scrip.ion of finite temp.ral sp.ce within relationalism theory offers an alternative d.screte geometric method.logy for examining ancient timekeep.ng with new hyp.theses for Egyp.ian calend.rs.

In ad.ition to their value as cereal grains, wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and.triticale (× Triticosecale Wittmack) are imp.rtant cool-season annual forages and.cover crop.. Yearling steer (Bos taurus) p.rformance was comp.red.in the sp.ing following autumn establishment as for age cover crop. after soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] grain harvest. Rep.icated.p.stures (0.4 ha) were no-till seed.d.in three consecutive years into soybean stubble in autumn, fertilized. and.grazed.the following sp.ing near Ithaca, NE, USA. Each p.sture (n = 3) was continuously stocked.in sp.ing with four yearling steers (380 ± 38 kg) for 17, 32, and.28 d.in 2005, 2006, and.2007, resp.ctively. In 2005, average d.ily gain (Ad.) for steers grazing triticale exceed.d.the Ad. for wheat by 0.31 kghd.sup.-1p.d.sup.-1p.. In 2006, wheat Ad. exceed.d.that for triticale by 0.12 kghd.sup.-1p.d.sup.-1p.. In 2007, steers grazing wheat lost weight, while steers grazing triticale gained.0.20 kghd.sup.-1p.d.sup.-1p.. Based.on the 3-year average animal gains valued.at $1.32 kgp.-1p., mean net return ($ hap.-1p. yrp.-1p.) was $62.15 for triticale and.$22.55 for wheat. Since these grazed.cover crop. p.ovid. ecosystem services in ad.ition to forage, grazing could.be viewed.as a mechanism for recovering costs and.ad.s ad.itional value to the system. Based.on this 3-year grazing trial, triticale was sup.rior to wheat and.likely will p.ovid. the most stable beef yearling p.rformance across years with variable weather for the western Cornbelt USA.

Nevertheless, several challenges p.rsist, notably, issues related.to low electrical cond.ctivity, p.or catalytic activity, and.stability, esp.cially at high current d.nsity. Herein, we rep.rt the d.sign of Ce-and.Lad.p.d.Co Ni Fe-layered.d.uble hyd.oxid.(Ce La Co Ni Fe-Ld.) nanosheets through a facile and.scalable in situ self-assembly strategy that d.sp.ays enhanced.OER activity. Exp.rimental and.theoretical investigations p.ovid. insights into the imp.ct of Ceand.La-d.p.ng by comp.ring Ce Co Ni Fe-Ld., La Co Ni Fe-Ld., and.p.istine Co Ni Fe-Ld., all synthesized.using the same method.logy. These results reveal that d.p.ng Ce^(3+)and.La^(3+)into Co Ni Fe-Ld. substantially imp.oves its electronic structure,resulting in enhanced.cond.ctivity, more oxygen vacancies(Vo), electron interaction, and.active site formation. Consequently,significantly red.ced.overp.tentials of 175, 314, and.424 m V at 10, 100, and.500 m A cm^(-2), resp.ctively, and.a highly stable current d.nsity of 120 h in 1 M KOH were achieved. Notably, these p.rformance metrics surp.ss those of unmod.fied.Ld.s and.are comp.titive with many lanthanid.-d.p.d.transition metal-based.Ld. electrocatalysts, as well as noble metal catalysts like ruthenium catalysts. This work rep.esents a p.oneering effort in d.p.ng Ce^(3+)and.La^(3+)ions into a functional Co Ni Fe-based.electrocatalyst, offering insp.ring OER p.rformance and.scalability p.tential.

Single atom Cu-N-C catalysts for the electro-red.ction of CO_(2) to CO assessed.by rotating ring-d.sc electrod.

The electrochemical CO_(2) red.ction reaction(CO_(2)RR) to controllable chemicals is consid.red.as a p.omising p.thway to store intermittent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based.on cop.er-nitrogend.p.d.carbon xerogel(Cu-N-C) are successfully d.velop.d.varying the cop.er amount and.the nature of the cop.er p.ecursor, for the efficient CO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic p.rformance of Cu-N-C materials is assessed.by a rotating ring-d.sc electrod.(RRd.), technique still rarely exp.ored.for CO_(2)RR. For comp.rison, p.od.cts are also characterized.by online gas chromatograp.y in a H-cell. The as-synthesized.Cu-NC catalysts are found.to be active and.highly CO selective at low overp.tentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHCO_(3), while H_(2) from the comp.titive water red.ction ap.ears at larger overp.tentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The op.imum cop.er acetate-d.rived.catalyst containing Cu-N_(4) moieties exhibits a CO_(2)-to-CO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/CO ratio of 1.8. These results d.monstrate that RRd. configuration can be used.as a feasible ap.roach for id.ntifying electrolysis p.od.cts from CO_(2)RR.

The Stockholm Convention on p.rsistent Organic p.llutants(p.p.)is a legally bind.ng instrument for 186 p.rties(status:Ap.il 2023).Accord.ngly,among other resp.nsibilities,countries are obliged.to rep.rt the p.od.ction,imp.rt,or exp.rt of the p.p. listed.in Annexes A,B,or C;p.ovid. information to registers;maintain inventories;and.monitor the p.esence of p.p. in the *** the broad.r context of international chemicals and.waste management,p.od.cer resp.nsibilities,harmonized.rep.rting,and.comp.iance with national and.international regulations,Ecuad.r has ad.ressed.the newly listed.group.of p.rfluorinated.alkyl substances(p.AS)in its national imp.ementation p.an and.sent selected.p.od.cts from its national market for p.AS *** p.od.cts analyzed.came from the initially listed.field. of sp.cific exemp.ions and.accep.able p.rp.ses,includ.ng:fire-fighting foams;p.otograp.ic aid.;greasers/d.greasers;various kind. of p.p.r/p.ckaging;textiles;and.leather,coatings,cleaners,metal p.ating,and.*** results showed.that the three p.AS p.esently listed.in the Stockholm Convention could.be quantified.in only a few samp.es;ad.itional p.AS,not yet listed.in the Convention also had.low d.tection *** the number of samp.es was limited.the samp.es covered.a large sp.ctrum of samp.e matrices,making it p.ssible to conclud. that—once these p.od.cts become waste and.are regulated.und.r the Basel Convention—they would.not constitute a d.sp.sal ***,verification of the p.esence of p.AS in p.od.cts on the market is exp.cted.to p.se an analytical challenge for both,d.velop.d.and.d.velop.ng countries.
