We p.op.se theoretically and demonstrate exp.rimentally the generation of light p.lses whose p.larization varies temp.rally to cover selected areas of the p.incare´sp.ere with both tunable swirling sp.ed and total duration(1 p. and 10 p.,resp.ctively,in our imp.ementation).The effect relies on the Rabi oscillations of two p.lariton p.larized fields excited by two counter-p.larized and delayed *** sup.rp.sition of the oscillating fields result in the p.ecession of the Stokes vector of the emitted light while p.lariton lifetime imbalance results in its drift from a circle of controllable radius on the p.incare´sp.ere to a single p.int at long *** p.sitioning of the initial circle and final p.int allows to engineer the typ. of p.larization sp.nning,including a full sweep.ng of the p.incare´*** universality and simp.icity of the scheme should allow for the dep.oyment of time-varying full-p.incare´p.larization fields in a variety of p.atforms,timescales,and regimes.

Light emission of europ.um(Eu^(3+))ions p.aced in the vicinity of op.ically resonant nanoantennas is usually controlled by tailoring the local density of p.oton states(LDOS).We show that the p.larization and shap. of the excitation beam can also be used to manip.late light emission,as azimuthally or radially p.larized cylindrical vector beam offers to sp.tially shap. the electric and magnetic fields,in addition to the effect of silicon nanorings(Si-NRs)used as *** p.otoluminescence(p.)map.ings of the Eu^(3+)transitions and the Si p.onon map.ings are strongly dep.ndent of both the excitation beam and the Si-NR *** exp.rimental results of Raman scattering and p.otoluminescence are confirmed by numerical simulations of the near-field intensity in the Si nanoantenna and in the Eu^(3+)-dop.d film,*** branching ratios obtained from the exp.rimental p. map. also reveal a redistribution of the electric and magnetic emission *** results show that it could be p.ssible to sp.tially control both electric and magnetic dip.lar emission of Eu^(3+)ions by switching the laser beam p.larization,hence the near field at the excitation wavelength,and the electric and magnetic LDOS at the emission *** p.ves the way for op.imized geometries taking advantage of both excitation and emission p.ocesses.

The aim is to evaluate the flexural strength of acrylic resin bars dep.nding on the addiction of glass fibers with or without p.evious 3-methacryloxyp.op.l-trimethoxysilane (silane) ap.lication. Short fibers (3 mm) were treated and added to an acrylic resin p.wder, being further mixed with acrylic liquid to create bars (25 × 2 × 2 mm) of 11 exp.rimental group. (N = 10), according to the interaction of exp.rimental factors: weight % of glass fibers: (0.5;1;3;4;6 and 7) and silane ap.lication (with silane (S) or without silane (N)). Flexural strength and scanning microscop. evaluation were p.rformed (SEM). Data (Mp.) were submitted to ANOVA and Tukey (α = 5%). A significant difference between group. was observed (p.= 0.001): S7%(128.85 ± 35.76)a, S6% (119.31 ± 11.97)ab, S4% (116.98 ± 25.23)ab, N4% (107.85 ± 24.88)abc, S1% (96.29 ± 20.65)bc, S0.5% (89.29 ± 7.33)cd, S3% (89.0 ± 11.27)cd, N3% (86.79 ± 17.63)cd, N1% (85.43 ± 16.44)cd, Control (73.29 ± 25.0)de, N0.5% (59.58 ± 19.46)e. For N group., it was not p.ssible to include more than 4%wt fibers. SEM showed better fiber-resin interaction for S group., and fractures around fibers on N group.. p.evious silane ap.lication enables the addiction of greater quantity of glass fibers and better interaction with the acrylic resin resulting in higher flexural strength. Without silane, fibers seem to act as initial crack p.ints due to p.or interaction.

The develop.ent and imp.ementation of sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural p.actices are indisp.nsable as alternatives to p.sticide use and to keep.p.p.lations of soil-borne p.ant p.thogens at levels that do not affect crop.*** p.esent research evaluates the incidence of soil-borne p.ytop.thogens on the p.neap.le variety MD-2,which was subjected to different treatments:Incorp.ration of Crotalaria juncea into the soil(organic amendment),ap.lication of dolomitic lime to soil(inorganic amendment),and the use of p.astic mulch covering the *** the crop.cycle(15 months),the following variables were evaluated:p.ant height(cm),fruit weight(kg·p.ant^(−1)),crop.yield(ton·ha^(−1)),the bud root disease incidence caused by p.ytop.thora nicotianae,number of soil p.ytop.rasitic nematodes and colony-forming-units(CFUs)of soil fungi and *** results indicate that Crotalaria juncea treatment reduced the p.thogen p.p.lation(nematode and oomycetes)at levels that did not affect crop.develop.ent,so that yield increased(18–20%).The incorp.ration of *** into the soil as an organic amendment favors the p.p.lations of fungi disease sup.ressors(Trichoderma-Asp.rgillus).The p.ytop.rasitic nematodes(Meloidogyne sp.,p.atylenchus sp.,and Mesocriconema sp.)and oomycetes(p.ytop.thora sp..,and p.thium sp..)showed a reduction of their p.p.lation levels by effects of organic amendment(***).The p.astic mulch was also effective,p.obably due to the maintenance of op.imal condition to crop.growth and weed ***,the dolomitic lime ap.lication had the p.orest effect under the conditions of the study area on the variables *** described observations are characteristics of a system-based ap.roach for the p.tential management of soil-borne p.thogens of p.neap.le MD-2 in Veracruz,México.

In this work, the localization, density, morp.ology and ultrastructure of secretory structures in aerial organs of Flourensia camp.stris (FC) and F. oolep.s (FO) (Asteraceae) by means of a combination of light, fluorescence, transmission (TEM) and scanning electron microscop. (SEM) were examined. The p.ssible role of secretory structures in the p.oduction and secretion of the p.ytotoxic sesquiterp.ne (-)-hamanasic acid A ((-)HAA) in both sp.cies was also assessed. Cap.tate glandular trichomes were found in all rep.oductive organs of FC and FO, and were being rep.rted for the first time. These glandular trichomes, typ.cally associated to edges and veins, were of the same typ. as those already described for vegetative organs, and were abundant in involucral bracts and corolla of tubulose and ligulate flowers. Their density in rep.oductive organs of both sp.cies was similar (ca. 30/mm2) and lower than that found in leaves (ca. 100/mm2) and stems (ca. 160/mm2 in FC, and up.to 650/mm2 in FO). Glandular trichomes in vegetative organs followed a sp.cies-sp.cific p.ttern of distribution. TEM and SEM observations suggest that each sp.cies differs in the way in which secretory materials are released to the outside: through cracks or p.res in FC, or through a loose cuticle in FO. Similar insp.ctions of the secretory ducts revealed lip.p.ilic vacuoles localized in subep.thelial and ep.thelial cells, in which secretions accumulated before being transferred to the duct. The p.esence of wall ingrowths in subep.thelial cells suggests that granulocrine secretion op.rates in these sp.cies. Secretory ducts varied in density and diameter among the organs in both sp.cies, with the combination being maximal in woody stems. (-)HAA was only detected in surface secreted resins of both sp.cies, and its concentration (2D-TLC, GC-FID) was intimately associated with the distribution and density of glandular trichomes in each organ (cap.tula, leaves, and stems with p.imary or secondary growth).

The sugarcane ap.id, Melanap.is sacchari, is a key p.st that affects sorghum in Mexico. During 2014 to 2016, in South of Tamaulip.s sites and Bajio region in Guanajuato, the p.p.lations of this ap.id were infected by different sp.cies of Hyp.crealean fungi. Based in the morp.ometric identification and molecular characterization, the sp.cies associated with sugarcane ap.id in South of Tamaulip.s were Lecanicillium longisp.rum, Beauveria bassiana and Isaria javanica. In this region, the higher infection levels were caused by L. longisp.rum, mortality range from 30.0% to 50.0%. The p.esence of I. javanica and B. bassiana rep.esented less than 26.0% and 10.0%, resp.ctively. In Guanajuato, the sp.cies found corresp.nded to L. longisp.rum and B. bassiana. The infection levels of both sp.cies in sugarcane ap.id p.p.lations in Guanajuato sites were less than 1.00%. The natural occurrence of entomop.thogenic fungi on sugarcane ap.id p.p.lations was associated with climactic factors such as temp.rature and relative humidity and develop.ent of infections was p.ssibly affected by abiotic factors such as crop.p.enological stage and ap.lications of chemical insecticides realized by farmers for control of this ap.id. Further studies on the ecology and p.ysiology of these fungi and trials to determine virulence and p.rsistence in M. sacchari p.p.lations are needed. This is the first rep.rt on natural p.esence of L. longisp.rum, B. bassiana and I. javanica causing disease on Melanap.is sacchari in Guanajuato and Tamaulip.s, Mexico.

The effects of kafirins on p.otein and amino acid ileal digestibility have not been evaluated in vivo in *** aim of this study was to determine the effects of p.otein p.ofile on ap.arent ileal digestibility(AID)of amino acids. We used a sorghum hybrid with low tannin content(p.ots with different kafirin p.ofile. Sorghum with greater content of total kafirins had less content of y-and al-kafirins and higher content of β-and a2-kafirins than that with lower content of total kafirins. Two sorghum-soybean meal(SBM) diets were formulated: 1) low kafirin(LK) content(32.2 g/kg) and 2) high kafirin(HK) content(48.1 g/kg). A control diet(maize-SBM) and a reference SBM-diet were also p.ep.red. The reference diet was fed to all p.gs following the exp.rimental p.riod and was used to estimate the AID of cereals by the difference method. 'T' cannulas were fixed in the distal ileum of 18 barrows(6 by treatment), divided into 2 group. of 9 p.gs. The p.gs were fed 2.5 times their maintenance requirement of digestible energy(110 kcal/kg BW00.75). The AID of dry matter,p.otein, amino acids, and energy of the exp.rimental diets was measured;the AID of cereals(maize, LK sorghum and HK sorghum) was estimated by the difference method. The maize-SBM diet was more digestible than the sorghum-SBM diets, only with resp.ct to valine(p.p.ofile between the diets only affected the AID of threonine(p.p.rcentage units in LK diet comp.red with HK diet. Regarding the AID of cereals, maize exhibited greater AID than sorghum, with resp.ct to valine(p.p.p.rison of sorghum with LK and HK content showed that the AID of threonine and serine increased by 50.5(p.p.rcentage units(p.p.c:tively.
