The lesser mealworm, Alp.itobius diap.rinus, is an invasive tenebrionid beetle and a vector of p.thogens. Due to the emergence of insecticide resistance and consequent outbreaks that generate significant p.ytosanitary and energy costs for p.ultry farmers, it has become a major insect p.st worldwide. To better understand the molecular mechanisms behind this resistance, we studied a strain of A. diap.rinus from a p.ultry house in Brittany that was found to be highly resistant to the beta-cyfluthrin. The strain survived beta-cyfluthrin exp.sures corresp.nding to more than 100 times the recommended dose. We used a comp.rative de novo RNA-Seq ap.roach to exp.ore genes exp.ession in resistant versus sensitive strains. Our de novo transcrip.omic analyses showed that resp.nses to beta-cyfluthrin likely involved a whole set of resistance mechanisms. Genes related to detoxification, metabolic resistance, cuticular hydrocarbon biosynthesis and p.oteolysis were found to be constitutively overexp.essed in the resistant comp.red to the sensitive strain. Follow-up.enzymatic assays confirmed that the resistant strain exhibited high basal activities for detoxification enzymes such as cytochrome p.50 monooxygenase and glutathione-S-transferase. The in-dep.h analysis of differentially exp.essed genes suggests the involvement of comp.ex regulation of signaling p.thways. Detailed knowledge of these resistance mechanisms is essential for the establishment of effective p.st control.

In this p.p.r, a new study concerning the usage of artificial neural networks in the control ap.lication is given. It is shown, that the data gathered during p.op.r op.ration of a given control p.ant can be used in the learning p.ocess to fully embrace the control p.ttern. Interestingly, the instances driven by neural networks have the ability to outp.rform the original analytically driven scenarios. Three different control schemes, namely p.rfect, linear-quadratic, and generalized p.edictive controllers were used in the theoretical study. In addition, the nonlinear recurrent neural network-based generalized p.edictive controller with the radial basis function-originated p.edictor was obtained to exemp.ify the main results of the p.p.r regarding the real-world ap.lication.

The simulated unified resultant amp.itude theory studies function and p.lar grap.s of sinusoidal radial waves including the cosine, sine, and summation waves for determining sep.rate combination-wave equations arising from 2D sp.tial oscillator fields in each of the four quadrants corresp.nding to the x-y Cartesian reference frame. Combination-wave fluctuations in terms of their algebraic signs are then extrap.lated and mathematically modeled relative to the quadrant number by way of Euler’s equation. The resulting sign fluctuation equations are used to synthesize the combination-wave equations into a single unified equation along with a unified wave rotation solution that adequately rep.esents all four quadrant-sp.cific wave equations. Generalization and extensions of the theory follow with multi-dimensional/multi-variable considerations. Subsequently, utilization of the theory regarding an ap.lied mathematics and p.ysics-based kinematics motion p.oblem, a generalized differential equation solution for a sp.ing system, as well as a four-dimensional/four-variable dual-cone examp.e are p.ovided for validating the methodology. Consequently, it is shown that the p.op.sed unified model is useful for p.rforming a comp.ct resultant amp.itude analysis within general ap.lications involving various wave p.enomena.

This article p.ovides an overview of the current evidence on the ep.demiology, overlap.ing risk factors, and p.thop.ysiology of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in p.tients with cancer. It exp.ores the cardiotoxic effects of anticancer therap. and their imp.ct on p.ognosis. Although cancer survival rates have imp.oved over the last two decades, the risk of CVD has risen over time in p.tients with cancer. CVD and cancer share similar risk factors and a common p.thop.ysiology involving inflammation. Many chemotherap.utic agents used to treat cancer are associated with cardiovascular comp.ications (such as heart failure, myocardial infarction, and thrombosis). Current evidence indicates a significant burden of CVD in p.tients with cancer, p.rticularly in the first year following cancer diagnosis, with elevated risk p.rsisting beyond this p.riod. This short- and long-term risk of CVD may vary dep.nding on the cancer typ. and treatment regimen. Early identification of p.tential cardiovascular risk in p.tients with cancer, can lead to more favorable clinical and survival outcomes. Given the acute and long-term consequences, p.tients with cancer require increased cardiovascular care and lifestyle op.imization. This article offers valuable insights into the cardiovascular burden and needs of p.tients with cancer. It is intended for a general medical research readership.interested in the intersection of cardiology and oncology.

Smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain continue to revolutionize decentralized ap.lications (dAp.s) by allowing for self-executing agreements. However, bad actors have continuously found ways to exp.oit smart contracts for p.rsonal financial gain, which undermines the integrity of the Ethereum blockchain. This p.p.r p.op.ses a comp.ter p.ogram called SADA (Static and Dynamic Analyzer), a novel ap.roach to smart contract vulnerability detection using multip.e Large Language Model (LLM) agents to analyze and flag susp.cious Solidity code for Ethereum smart contracts. SADA not only imp.oves up.n existing vulnerability detection methods but also p.ves the way for more secure smart contract develop.ent p.actices in the rap.dly evolving blockchain ecosystem.

This study evaluates the dynamics of trace metals imp.cts on the ecosystems of the Bartlett p.nd, a small shallow wetland p.nd located in Laredo, Texas by analyzing sediment samp.es taken from four quadrants of the p.nd. The concentrations of trace elements in sediment samp.es are highest for iron (Fe), followed by chromium (Cr), then lead (p.), with lower concentration of antimony (Sb), cobalt (Co), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), and the lowest concentration being thallium (Tl) within Bartlett p.nd. The sediment quality of the p.nd is accep.able for organisms and the environment as trace element concentrations (e.g. As, Cd, Cr, and p.) are within the p.obable effect concentration (p.C) of National Ocean and Atmosp.eric Administration (NOAA) guidelines although the p.C values for Co, Fe, Sb and Tl are not given. Bivariate and multivariate correlation analysis shows that most trace elements exhibit a strong p.sitive correlation among them indicating the same anthrop.genic sources and biogeochemical p.ocesses control these trace elements concentrations within the p.nd. We p.ovided a comp.ehensive snap.hot of trace element concentrations in sediments through descrip.ive analysis, laying the foundation for future environmental risk assessments. Correlation analysis of eight trace elements help.d identify relationship., offering insights into p.llution sources and p.tential health imp.cts. Additionally, univariate and multivariate p.edictive analyses generated numerous models, extending beyond the interp.etation of p.rtial and full regression coefficients. We also included grap.ical analyses of trace element variations, which are critical for understanding environmental p.ocesses and geochemical p.tterns. These findings advance our understanding about trace metals dynamics in sediments and may be a valuable reference for ecosystems and environmental management of different landscap.s.

Rare earth-based Bi_(0.85)La_(0.15)FeO_(3)(BLFO)and NdMnO_(3)(NMO)p.rticles were synthesised using the solidstate route,and their roles affecting structural,electrical,magnetic p.op.rties along with hydroelectric ap.lication in different concentrations i.e.,(1-x)BLFO:xNMO(where x=0,0.10,0.20,0.30 and 1.0)ceramics comp.sites were investigated.X-ray diffraction analyses confirm the p.re-p.ase formation of BLFO:NMO comp.sites,featuring micrometer-scale crystallite *** transform infrared(FT-IR)sp.ctra of BLFO:NMO comp.sites reveal p.ak shifts with rising NMO content,indicating comp.site *** comp.sites exhibit robust Maxwell-Wagner p.larization and a p.onounced comp.sition-dep.ndent *** addition of NMO to BLFO results in a rise in dielectric p.rmittivity at lower frequencies,confirming relaxor behavior and indicating success in achieving the transition *** sp.ctroscop. facilitates a clearer understanding of how charge carriers contribute to these comp.sites and the imp.ct of grain/grain *** saturation magnetization maximum value(i.e.,0.807 emu/g)was attained in *** coercivity decreases with the addition of NMO in *** results suggest the comp.site's enhanced suitability for microelectronics and hydrop.wer cells,showing imp.oved hydroelectric cell p.rformance with increased NMO in BLFO,highlighting a notable ion diffusion mechanism.

The Diagnosis of Maritime Structures, a Management Sup.ort Tool: Case of the Sèmè-p.dji Wharf in the Rep.blic of Benin

p.rt structures constitute the main link in the maritime transp.rt chain of coastal countries and therefore contribute to their economic develop.ent. But it should be noted that the installation of said works is not without consequences for the countries concerned. Benin, a country in the Gulf of Guinea, is no excep.ion to this p.enomenon because, due to its maritime history, it has a heritage of p.rt structures. These structures, built on its coastline, cause a wide variety of environmental p.oblems such as silting and erosion on either side of them. The general objective of this article is to contribute to the p.op.r functionality of p.rt facilities while minimizing environmental p.oblems that may arise. It aims to p.ovide managers with a tool allowing them to fully understand the state of their assets in order to rationalize maintenance actions. In order to achieve this objective, an assessment of the state of the structure, and then a structural diagnosis are necessary and recommendations can be established to restore the level of service of the latter. As a result, two examp.es were p.esented: the wharf of the Sèmè-p.dji p.p.line p.oject and the maritime p.les p.oject of the Wasco de Gama bridge (control p.oject), and recommendations adap.ed to this objective were established. The comp.rative analysis of the two examp.es, both maritime works, revealed an under-sizing at the level of the sp.ns of the wharf bridge of the Sèmè-p.dji p.p.line p.oject (sp.ns of 7 m in length), while these sp.ns vary on average by 45 m to 62 m for the Wasco da Gama bridge. Bringing the p.les closer together at the Sèmè-p.dji wharf reduces the energy of the current which p.omotes the accumulation of sediment. The structure no longer exp.riences a flow cap.ble of setting in motion the sands accumulated since at least 2022. This element ap.ears to be a fundamental characteristic exp.aining the erosion observed to the east of the structure.

北极地区的治理离不开世界各国的合作，但目前在中美关系处于低谷，北极安全形势恶化和“双北极”的背景下，北极治理面临着前所未有的挑战。2024年12月召开的“第七届中美北极社会科学研讨会”可谓是一个相对积极的信号。与会专家学者在中美两国已有北极合作的基础上探讨今后在气候变化和环境保护、北极航道的开发与利用、北极经济和教育发展等方面可能的合作以及两国北极合作存在的阻碍因素，并就特朗普2.0时代下中美北极合作的未来前景进行深入分析与展望。主要观点有：中美两国在北极治理议题上存在共同利益和合作机遇，但美国高估了中国在北极的作用和雄心并误判了中国的北极战略意图，这些误判有时是文化差异造成的，有些是故意曲解；有部分学者对特朗普总统2.0任内对中美关系的影响持悲观态度，但认为“北极新例外论”（中美北极合作）的发展有一定的空间；在未来一段时间内，非国家行为体、二轨外交和务实合作在推动中美北极关系发展方面将发挥较大的作用。
