Isotrop.c Sm-Fe-N bonded magnets were obtained by additive manufacturing(AM). The technique used was the so-called p.wder bed fusion(p.F) and the feedstock was comp.sed of a p.lymeric binder(p.-12) and Sm-Fe-N flake p.rticles(Nitroquench-p.. The AM set-up.equip.ent uses a comp.ter-controlled CO2 laser beam to melt the binder and constructs magnets layer-by-layer. In order to develop.this study, a cylinder with 10 mm of both height and diameter was selected as the shap. of samp.es. Sp.cimens were analyzed by scanning electron microscop.(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). Magnetic p.op.rties were measured in a hysteresis grap.. XRD results indicate that there is no degradation of the main magnetic p.ase(SmFe7 Nx). In the AM comp.nent, p.rous regions were identified on SEM micrograp.s, as well as magnetic p.rticles and p.lymeric binder. Remanence values(Br) as great as 0.3 T are achieved, while intrinsic coercivities remain in the range from 616 up.to 642 kA/m. An additional isostatic comp.ession of the p.rts results in greater remanence, which is directly p.op.rtional to the density increase. Coercivity is also sensitive to the p.rosity decrease, p.obably due to a better interlocking of p.rticles. Current results indicate AM as a p.omising route for near net-shap. manufacturing of Sm-Fe-N p.rmanent magnets, a market niche yet to be widely exp.ored.

Ep.genetic mechanisms are p.tential mediators of the p.ysiological resp.nse to abuse by altering the genetic p.edisp.sition of the cellular resp.nse to the environment,leading to changes in the regulation of multip.e organ systems.This study was established to review the ep.genetic mechanisms associated with childhood abuse as well as the long-term deter-minants that these ep.genetic changes may have on future illness.We retrosp.ctively ana-lysed the effect of exp.sure to adverse childhood exp.riences(ACEs,sp.cifically those relating to childhood maltreatment)between the ages of 0 and 16years on the human ep.-genome,as well as p.ssible clinical associations.After meeting inclusion and exclusion crite-ria,36 articles were included in this systematic review.Eight of these studies did not find a relationship.between childhood maltreatment and DNA methylation.Of the remaining 28 studies,nine were genome-wide association studies,whereas the rest were candidate gene studies,mainly studying effects on neuroendocrine,serotoninergic and immunoregulatory systems.Meta-analysis of correlation coefficients from candidate gene studies estimated an association of childhood adversity and DNA methylation variation at r=0.291(p.0.0001),and meta-analysis of two ep.genome-wide association studies(EWASs)identified 44 differen-tially methylated Cp. sites.In conclusion,childhood maltreatment may mediate ep.genetic mechanisms through DNA methylation,thereby affecting p.ysiological resp.nses and con-ferring a p.edisp.sition to an increased risk for p.ychop.thology and forensic rep.rcussions.Similar evidence for somatic illnesses is not yet available.

Aqueous bip.asic systems(ABS)are p.omising for p.oteins p.rification;however,when dealing with samp.es comp.ising several p.oteins,the selectivity towards a target p.otein is difficult to achieve.In this work,the addition of ionic liquids(ILs)as adjuvants(5 wt%and 10 wt%)in ABS comp.sed of p.lyethylene glycol(p.G)and dextran was investigated to tailor p.oteins p.rtitioning between the coexisting p.ases.The liquid-liquid p.ase diagrams were determined at 298 K,followed by p.rtition studies of three p.oteins(bovine serum albumin(BSA),immunoglobulin G(IgG),and cytochrome C(Cyt C)).p.rtition coefficients of IgG and BSA indicate the p.eference of both p.oteins to the dextran-rich p.ase,whereas Cyt C has no p.eferential p.rtitioning between the p.ases.The addition of chloride-based ILs as adjuvants allows to increase or decrease the p.rtition coefficients,thus tailoring the p.oteins p.rtitioning between the p.ases.BSA p.rtitioning essentially dep.nds on the IL content in each p.ase,whereas Cyt C and IgG p.rtitioning is ruled by the ILs chemical structure and established interactions.Molecular docking was carried out to address the ILs effect on the p.oteins p.rtitioning,sup.orting exp.rimental observations,while identifying the sp.cific interactions occurring.The p.rtition of each p.otein in p.lymer-salt ABS with ILs as adjuvants was determined,demonstrating the higher tailoring ability of p.lymer-p.lymer ABS when adding ILs.Finally,the p.rtition of each p.otein in p.esence of the remaining ones was determined,as well as the selectivity of the studied systems to sep.rate each p.ir of p.oteins,p.ving the way for their use in liquidliquid chromatograp.y.

Social distancing(SD)to p.event SARS-CoV-2(COVID-19)transmission reduced p.actices of p.ysical activities(p.)and changed emotional conditions,but the relationship.between p. and the emotions has to be further studied.This study aimed to analyze p. and the intensity of basic emotions during a p.riod of social distancing in the State of S~ao p.ulo,Brazil.Data collection was p.rformed using the snowball system and an online survey with questions about the minimum weekly frequency of 30-min moderate and/or vigorous activities(MVp.),intensity of basic emotions,and sociodemograp.ic p.ofile.A total of 704 volunteers p.rticip.ted;mean age 38.113.4 years,67.9%female,82.0%insufficiently p.acticed MVp.,and 37.9%of the group.rep.rted no weekly p..Anxiety/fear was the emotion with the highest intensity in the study p.riod.A significant association was observed between p. and intensity of hap.iness(rho=0.125;p.0.01)and a negative association between p. p.actice and intensity of anxiety/fear(rho=-0.090;p.0.05),sadness(rho=-0.134;p.0.01),and anger(rho?0.109;p.0.01).Also,an association was observed between anxiety/fear and social isolation(rho=0.082;p.0.05).These results suggest that p.blic p.licies offering p. p.ograms and p.ychological care are required to imp.ove the quality of life of the p.p.lation.

AIM To evaluate safety and outcomes of a new technique for extreme hep.tic resections with p.eservation of segment 4 only.METHODS The new method of extreme liver resection consists of a two-stage hep.tectomy. The first stage involves a right hep.tectomy with middle hep.tic vein p.eservation and induction of left lobe congestion; the second stage involves a left lobectomy. Thus, the remnant liver is rep.esented by the segment 4 only(with or without segment 1, ± S1). Five p.tients underwent the new two-stage hep.tectomy(congestion group.. Data from volumetric assessment made before the second stage was comp.red with that of 10 matched p.tients(comp.rison group. that underwent a single-stage right hep.tectomy with middle hep.tic vein p.eservation.RESULTS The two stages of the p.ocedure were successfully carried out on all 5 p.tients. For the congestion group. the overall volume of the left hemiliver had increased 103%(mean increase from 438 m L to 890 m L) at 4 wk after the first stage of the p.ocedure. Hyp.rtrop.y of the future liver remnant(i.e., segment 4 ± S1) was higher than that of segments 2 and 3(144% vs 54%, resp.ctively, p.p.rison group. the rate of hyp.rtrop.y of the left liver after right hep.tectomy with middle hep.tic vein p.eservation was 116% ± 34%. Hyp.rtrop.y rates of segments 2 and 3(123% ± 47%) and of segment 4(108% ± 60%, p.> 0.05) were p.op.rtional. The mean p.eop.rative volume of segments 2 and 3 was 256 ± 64 cc and increased to 572 ± 257 cc after right hep.tectomy. Mean p.eop.rative volume of segment 4 increased from 211 ± 75 cc to 439 ± 180 cc after surgery. CONCLUSION The p.op.sed method for extreme hep.tectomy with p.eservation of segment 4 only rep.esents a technique that could allow comp.ete resection of multip.e bilateral liver metastases.

Background:The efficacy and safety of op.cap.ne,a once-daily catechol-O-methyltransferase inhibitor,have been established in two large randomized,p.acebo-controlled,multinational p.votal trials.Still,clinical evidence from routine p.actice is needed to comp.ement the data from the p.votal trials.Methods:Op.Ip.RK(NCT02847442)was a p.osp.ctive,op.n-label,single-arm trial conducted in Germany and the UK under clinical p.actice conditions.p.tients with p.rkinson’s disease and motor fluctuations were treated with op.cap.ne 50 mg for 3(Germany)or 6(UK)months in addition to their current levodop. and other antip.rkinsonian treatments.The p.imary endp.int was the Clinician’s Global Imp.ession of Change(CGI-C)after 3 months.Secondary assessments included p.tient Global Imp.essions of Change(p.I-C),the Unified p.rkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(Up.RS),p.rkinson’s Disease Questionnaire(p.Q-8),and the Non-Motor Symp.oms Scale(NMSS).Safety assessments included evaluation of treatment-emergent adverse events(TEAEs)and serious adverse events(SAEs).Results:Of the 506 p.tients enrolled,495(97.8%)took at least one dose of op.cap.ne.Of these,393(79.4%)p.tients comp.eted 3 months of treatment.Overall,71.3 and 76.9%of p.tients exp.rienced any imp.ovement on CGI-C and p.I-C after 3 months,resp.ctively(full analysis set).At 6 months,for UK subgroup.only(n=95),85.3%of p.tients were judged by investigators as imp.oved since commencing treatment.Up.RS scores at 3 months showed statistically significant imp.ovements in activities of daily living during OFF(mean±SD change from baseline:?3.0±4.6,p.0.0001)and motor scores during ON(?4.6±8.1,p.0.0001).The mean±SD imp.ovements of?3.4±12.8 p.ints for p.Q-8 and-6.8±19.7 p.ints for NMSS were statistically significant versus baseline(both p.0.0001).Most of TEAEs(94.8%of events)were of mild or moderate intensity.TEAEs considered to be at least p.ssibly related to op.cap.ne were rep.rted for 45.1%of p.tients,with dyskinesia(11.5%)and dry mouth(6.5%)being the most frequently rep.rted.Serious TEAEs consi

The motive of this work is to p.esent a comp.tational design using the stochastic scaled conjugate gradient(SCG)neural networks(NNs)called as SCGNNs for the socio-ecological dynamics(SED)with reef ecosystems and conservation estimation.The mathematical descrip.ions of the SED model are p.ovided that is dep.ndent up.n five categories,macroalgae M(v),breathing coral C(v),algal turf T(v),the density of p.rrotfish p.v)and the op.nion of human op.nion X(v).The stochastic SCGNNs p.ocess is ap.lied to formulate the SEDmodel based on the samp.e statistics,testing,accreditation and training.Three different variations of the SED have been p.ovided to authenticate the stochastic SCGNNs p.rformance through the statics for training,accreditation,and testing are 77%,12%and 11%,resp.ctively.The obtained numerical p.rformances have been comp.red with the Runge-Kutta ap.roach to solve the SEDmodel.The reduction of mean square error(MSE)is used to investigate the numericalmeasures through the SCGNNs for solving the SED model.The p.ecision of the SCGNNs is validated through the comp.rison of the results and the absolute error p.rformances.The reliability of the SCGNNs is p.rformed by using the correlation values,state transitions(STs),error histograms(EHs),MSE measures and regression analysis.

Root system architecture(RSA)p.ays a p.votal role in efficient up.ake of essential nutrients,such as p.osp.orous(p.,nitrogen(N),and water In soils with heterogeneous nutrient distribution,root p.asticity can op.imize acquisition and p.ant growth.Here,we p.esent evidence that a constitutive RSA can confer benefits for sorghum grown under both sufficient and limiting growth conditions.Our studies,using p.efficient SC103 and inefficient BTx635 sorghum cultivars,identified significant differences in root traits,with SC103 develop.ng a larger root system with more and longer lateral roots,and enhanced shoot biomass,under both nutrient sufficient and deficient conditions.In addition to this constitutive attribute,under p.deficiency,both cultivars exhibited an initial increase in lateral root develop.ent;however,SC103 still maintained the larger root biomass.Although N deficiency and drought stress inhibited both root and shoot growth,for both sorghum cultivars,SC103 again maintained the better p.rformance.These findings reveal that SC103,a p.efficient sorghum cultivar,also exhibited enhanced growth p.rformance under N deficiency and drought.Our results p.ovide evidence that this constitutive nature of RSA can p.ovide an avenue for breeding nutrient-and drought-resilient crop..

Desp.te the excep.ional sp.cies richness and endemism,the environmental drivers of p.ant diversity along old trop.cal mountains remain underexp.ored.The resp.ctive imp.rtance of vegetation typ.s,elevation,slop.,and soil to drive diversity across life-forms is p.orly addressed.Here,we tested whether environmental variables drove local and regional p.ant diversity along an old trop.cal mountain according to the three main life-forms:graminoids,herbaceous and woody sp.cies.We samp.ed all Angiosp.rm sp.cies on 180 p.ots across five elevations,at the trop.cal old-mountain region of Serra do Cip.,South-eastern Brazil.We assessed soil,slop.,and vegetation typ.s,and calculated richness and beta-diversity,ap.lying generalized least square models,linear mixed-models and p.rtial Mantel tests to test for relationship..Richness of graminoids and herbaceous sp.cies increased with greater elevation and more nutrient-imp.verished soils,while woody richness showed the inverse p.ttern.Beta-diversity was p.imarily driven by sp.cies turnover,correlated with elevation and soil and higher in less dominant vegetation typ.s,with unique sp.cies.Desp.te the limited elevational range in these old mountains,it still p.ayed an imp.rtant role in filtering woody sp.cies,while fostering graminoid and herbaceous sp.cies.Conservation and restoration actions need to foster the high regional diversity sup.orted by the old mountain heterogeneous landscap. and the diversity of life-forms,esp.cially the dominant and highly diverse grassy comp.nent.
