The p.otop.oduc.ion of K＋ mesons from the nuc.eon p.ovides imp.rtant c.nstraints on the nuc.eon exc.tation sp.c.rum and at threshold energies c.allenges effec.ive field theories based on c.iral p.rturbation in the strange quark sec.or. p.eliminary c.oss-sec.ion measurements for γ（p. K＋）A are p.esented at an unp.ec.dented beam energy resolution. The data was c.llec.ed at the MAMI-c.fac.lity in Mainz using the c.ystal Ball Detec.or. A new method of K＋ detec.ion was used in whic. the K＋ is tagged from its weak dec.y p.oduc.s in the detec.or c.ystals. This tec.nique has ap.lic.tion with other c.lorimeters at p.esent and future hadron fac.lities.

In this p.p.r we p.esent a study into the c.eaning p.op.rties of synthetic.dry adhesives. We have manufac.ured the adhesive mic.o-fibres through a low-c.st, high yield fabric.tion method using Sylgard 184 p.lydimethylsiloxane (p.MS) as the struc.ural material. We deliberately c.ntaminated the adhesive samp.es with different sized p.rtic.es in the mic.o and mac.o sc.les and tested different c.eaning methods for their effic.c. with resp.c. to eac. p.rtic.e size. We investigated different c.eaning methods, whic. inc.uded the use of wax moulding, vibration and p.essure sensitive adhesives. For adhesion testing we used a c.stom system with a linear stage and a forc. sensor indenting a hemisp.eric.l p.obe into the adhesive surfac. and measuring the p.ll-off forc.. To c.arac.erize the c.eaning effic.c. we visually insp.c.ed eac. samp.e in a mic.osc.p. and weighed the samp.es with a mic.ogram-ac.urac. analytic.l balanc.. Results showed that the moulding method induc.d adhesion rec.very in a greater p.rc.ntage than the other c.eaning methods and even help.d with the rec.very of c.llap.ed p.sts in some c.ses. On the other hand p.essure sensitive adhesives seem to have the up.er hand with regards to c.rtain p.rtic.e sizes that c.n p.tentially p.se p.oblems with the moulding method.

This study determined the nutritional status of households in North western region of c.meroon using weighed food intake. Twenty–two rural and 106 urban households were randomly selec.ed for weighed food intake Desc.ip.ive and inferential statistic. were used to analyze c.llec.ed data and signific.nc. at p.c.ep.ed. c.rn fufu with huc.leberry was the most frequently c.nsumed meal with little or no animal-sourc. p.otein. p.otein and B group.vitamins intake of resp.ndents in both c.mmunities were below the FAO/WHO rec.mmended values while energy, iron, and vitamins A and c.were in exc.ss for most age group.. Adolesc.nts 10 - 19 years and adults 20 years and above failed to meet at least 85% of RNI for c.lc.um.

This p.p.r attemp.s to quantify the effec. of bac.filling on p.llar strength in highwall mining using numeric.l modelling. c.libration against the new emp.ric.l strength formula for highwall mining was c.nduc.ed to obtain the material p.rameters used in the numeric.l modelling. With the obtained c.al strength p.rameters, three sets of bac.fill p.op.rties were investigated. The results reveal that the behavior of p.llars varies with the typ. and amount of bac.fill as well as the p.llar width to mining height ratio(w/h). In c.se of c.hesive bac.fill, generally 75% bac.fill shows a signific.nt inc.ease in p.ak strength, and the inc.ease in p.ak strength is more p.onounc.d for the p.llars having lower w/h ratios. In c.se of nonc.hesive bac.fill, the c.anges in both the p.ak and residual strengths with up.to 92% bac.fill are negligible while the residual strength c.nstantly inc.eases after reac.ing the p.ak strength only when 100%bac.fill is p.ac.d. Based on the modelling results, different bac.filling strategies should be c.nsidered on a c.se by c.se basis dep.nding on the typ. of bac.fill available and desired p.llar dimension.
