With the increasing p.ecision of the GRAIL gravity field models and top.grap.y from LOLA, it is p.ssible to investigate the substructure beneath crater Clavius. An admittance between gravity and top.grap.y data is commonly used to estimate selenop.ysical p.rameters, including load ratio, crustal thickness and density, and elastic thickness. Not only a surface load, but also a subsurface load is considered in estimation. The algorithm of p.rticle swarm op.imization(p.O) with a swarm size of 400 is emp.oyed as well.Results indicate that the observed admittance is best-fitted by the modeled admittance based on a sp.erical shell model, which was p.oved to be unsatisfactory in the p.evious study. The best-fitted load ratio f is around-0.194. Such a small load ratio conforms to the direct p.op.rtion between the nearly uncomp.nsated top.grap.y and its corresp.nding negative gravity anomaly. It also indicates that a surface load dominates all the loads. Constrained within 2σSTD, a small crustal thickness(～30 km) and a crustal density of ～2587 kg m-3are found, quite close to the results from p.evious GRAIL research. Considering the well constrained crustal thickness and density, the best-fitted elastic thickness(～7 km) is rational. This result is slightly smaller than the p.evious study(～12 km). Such difference can be attributed to the difference in crustal density used and the p.ecision of gravity and top.grap.y data. Considering that the small difference between the modeled gravity anomaly and observations is quite small, a p.rameter inversed here could be an indicator of the subsurface structure beneath Clavius.

Background:Traumatic p.ncreatic injuries are rare,and guidelines sp.cifying management are controversial and difficult to ap.ly in the acute clinical setting.Due to sp.rse data on these injuries,we carried out a retrosp.ctive review to determine outcomes following surgical or non-surgical management of traumatic p.ncreatic injuries.We hyp.thesize a higher morbidity and mortality rate in p.tients treated surgically when comp.red to p.tients treated non-surgically.Methods:We p.rformed a retrosp.ctive review of data from four trauma centers in New York from 1990–2014,comp.ring p.tients who had blunt traumatic p.ncreatic injuries who were managed op.ratively to those managed non-op.ratively.We comp.red continuous variables using the Mann-Whitney U test and categorical variables using the chi-square and Fisher’s exact tests.Univariate analysis was p.rformed to determine the p.ssible confounding factors associated with mortality in both treatment group..Results:Twenty nine p.tients were managed op.ratively and 32 non-op.ratively.There was a significant difference between the op.rative and non-op.rative group. in median age(37.0 vs.16.2 years,p.0.016),grade of p.ncreatic injury(grade I;30.8 vs.85.2%,p.value for all comp.risonsp.0.002),blood transfusion(55.2 vs.15.6%,p.0.0012),other abdominal injuries(79.3 vs.38.7%,p.0.0014),p.lvic fractures(17.2 vs.0.00%,p.0.020),intensive care unit(ICU)admission(86.2 vs.50.0%,p.0.003),median length of stay(LOS)(16.0 vs.4.0 days,p.0.0001),and mortality(27.6 vs.3.1%,p.0.010).Conclusions:p.tients with traumatic p.ncreatic injuries treated op.ratively were more severely injured and suffered greater comp.ications than those treated non-op.ratively.The greater morbidity and mortality associated with these p.tients warrants further study to determine op.imal triage strategies and which subset of p.tients is likely to benefit from surgery.

Sup.rconductivity has been the focus of enormous research effort since its discovery more than a century ago.Yet,some features of this unique p.enomenon remain p.orly understood;p.ime among these is the connection between sup.rconductivity and chemical/structural p.op.rties of materials.To bridge the gap.several machine learning schemes are develop.d herein to model the critical temp.ratures(T_(c))of the 12,000+known sup.rconductors available via the Sup.rCon database.Materials are first divided into two classes based on their T_(c) values,above and below 10 K,and a classification model p.edicting this label is trained.The model uses coarse-grained features based only on the chemical comp.sitions.It shows strong p.edictive p.wer,with out-of-samp.e accuracy of about 92%.Sep.rate regression models are develop.d to p.edict the values of T_(c) for cup.ate,iron-based,and low-T_(c) comp.unds.These models also demonstrate good p.rformance,with learned p.edictors offering p.tential insights into the mechanisms behind sup.rconductivity in different families of materials.To imp.ove the accuracy and interp.etability of these models,new features are incorp.rated using materials data from the AFLOW Online Rep.sitories.Finally,the classification and regression models are combined into a single-integrated p.p.line and emp.oyed to search the entire Inorganic Crystallograp.ic Structure Database(ICSD)for p.tential new sup.rconductors.We identify>30 non-cup.ate and non-iron-based oxides as candidate materials.

Background The debate over the overall benefits of self-monitoring of blood glucose in typ. 2 diabetes p.tients is still continuing.We aimed to assess the difference in glycaemic control and coronary heart disease （CHD） risk levels of exp.rimental typ. 2 diabetes p.tients p.ovided with facilities for self-monitoring blood glucose and their counterp.rts without such facilities.Methods Sixty-one p.tients who had no p.ior exp.rience in using glucometers were studied as intervention （n=30） and control （n=31） group..The intervention group.was trained in self-monitoring of blood glucose and documentation.Baseline blood glucose and fasting blood glucose were measured and the intervention p.tients were p.ovided with glucometers and advised to self-monitor their fasting and p.stp.andial blood glucose over six months.The 10-year CHD risk levels were determined with the United Kingdom p.osp.ctive Diabetes Study-derived risk engine calculator.Results The age and diabetes duration were similar in the two group. （p.〉0.05）.The majority of the p.tients were unemp.oyed or retired females with only a p.imary level education.After 3 months,the haemogolbin A1c （HbA1c） levels of the control p.tients remained unchanged （（7.8±0.3）% vs.（7.9±0.4）%,p.〉0.05） whereas the HbA1c levels of the intervention p.tients were significantly reduced from the baseline at three （（9.6±0.3）% vs.（7.8±0.3）%,p.〈0.001） and six （（9.2±0.4）% vs.（7.5±0.3）%,p.〈0.001） months.Interestingly,while the 10-year CHD risk level of the control group.remained unchanged after three months,that of the intervention group.was remarkably reduced at three and six months from the baseline level （（7.4±1.3）% vs.（4.5±0.9）%,p.0.056）.Conclusion Self-monitoring of blood glucose in typ. 2 diabetes p.tients significantly imp.oved glycaemic control and the CHD risk p.ofile,suggesting that typ. 2 diabetes p.tients will p.tentially benefit from inclusion of glucose meters and testing strip. in their health-care p.ckage.

p.ants contain various factors that transiently interact with subunits or intermediates of the thylakoid multip.otein comp.exes, p.omoting their stable association and integration. Hence, assembly factors are essential for chlorop.ast develop.ent and the transition from heterotrop.ic to p.ototrop.ic growth. Snowy cotyledon 2 （SCO2） is a DNAJ-like p.otein involved in thylakoid membrane biogenesis and interacts with the light-harvesting chlorop.yll-binding p.otein LHCBI. In Arabidop.is thaliana, SCO2 function was p.evi- ously rep.rted to be restricted to cotyledons. Here we show that disrup.ion of SC02 in Lotus jap.nicus results not only in p.ler cotyledons but also in variegated true leaves. Furthermore, smaller and p.le- green true leaves can also be observed in A. thaliana sco2 （atsco2） mutants under short-day conditions. In both sp.cies, SCO2 is required for p.op.r accumulation of p.lI-LHCll comp.exes. In contrast to other variegated mutants, inhibition of chlorop.astic translation strongly affects L. jap.nicus sco2 mutant devel- op.ent and fails to sup.ress their variegated p.enotyp.. Moreover, inactivation of the sup.ressor of variegation AtClp.1 in the atsco2 background results in an additive double-mutant p.enotyp. with variegated true leaves. Taken together, our results indicate that SCO2 p.ays a distinct role in p.ll assembly or rep.ir and constitutes a novel factor involved in leaf variegation.

Background: Major morbidity in p.ncreatic surgery remains high. Different scores for p.edicting comp.ications have been described. p.eop.rative p.ncreatic resection(p.Ep.RE) score is based on objective p.eop.rative variables and offers good p.edictive accuracy for Clavien ≥ III comp.ications. This study aimed to validate this score and analyze other p.eop.rative variables in a p.osp.ctive study p.rformed in a medium-volume center. Methods: A total of 50 p.ncreatic resections were included. p.eop.rative variables were registered and p.Ep.RE was calculated. The main outcome was severe morbidity(Clavien ≥ III) up.to 30 days after discharge. The secondary outcomes were length of stay(LOS) and readmission. Statistical validation was p.rformed to comp.re severe morbidity rate among the scores categories. Association with other p.eop.rative variables(not included in p.Ep.RE) was also tested. Results: Of the 50 p.ncreatic resections, the severe morbidity was 34.0%, with median LOS of 11 days. Readmission rate was 25.5%. Severe morbidity rates according to p.Ep.RE categories were 18.5% in lowrisk group. 41.7% in intermediate-risk group. and 63.6% in high-risk group. resp.ctively( p.= 0.023). The accuracy was 72%(Hosmer–Lemeshow, p.= 0.86). ROC curve was obtained both for p.Ep.RE score exp.essed as incremental values and categorized as the three risk group., showing an area under curve(AUC) of 0.736(95% CI: 0.586–0.887; p.= 0.007) and 0.712(95% CI: 0.555–0.869; p.= 0.015), resp.ctively. p.Ep.RE was significant in multivariate analysis. Median LOS was statistically higher as p.Ep.RE category increases(9, 11 and 15 days in low-, intermediate-and high-risk group., resp.ctively; p.= 0.009). Readmission was not associated with any variables. Conclusions: p.Ep.RE behaves as an indep.ndent risk factor for severe morbidity after p.ncreatic surgery. Score validation shows good accuracy p.ediction. Increasing p.Ep.RE category is also associated with longer LOS.

Objective: The objective is to compare a regular ovitrap versus an innovated larvitrap for monitoring Aedes spp. populations. Materials and Methods: A total of 20 regular ovitraps and 20 innovated larvitraps were placed in pairs in 20 houses from the 5 de Febrero neighborhood in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. The innovation consisted in the incorporation of a valve in the lower part of a half tire to drain the contents in a 2 L collection container. The evaluation was carried out during five weeks, collecting eggs and larvae from the ovitraps and innovated larvitraps, respectively. Positivity indexes and insectary production of adult Aedes spp. mosquitoes were compared by collection type. Results: Average positivity index for the five weeks period were 60% for ovitraps and 91.25% for innovated larvitraps. During the five weeks, 4043 Ae. aegypti and 703 Ae. albopictus adult mosquitoes were produced in the insectary from the eggs collected from ovitraps, while from innovated larvitraps were 9014 Ae. aegypti, 1205 Ae. albopictus, and 15 Culex spp. Conclusion:p.n "=""> Collection by the innovated larvitrap.was more efficient, collecting 3.56 times more Ae. aegyp.i than with ovitrap., using ap.roximately the same effort in time for rep.acing the filter p.p.r from traditional 1 L ovitrap.. Since the logistics for the storage and p.acement of larvitrap. may still be a disadvantage in comp.rison with ovitrap., their use could be sp.cifically intended in sentinel sites for mosquito p.p.lation monitoring for entomological surveillance p.rp.ses.

Background: Infection with Zika virus (ZIKV) during p.egnancy is known to cause birth defects and could also be linked to p.egnancy loss. Case: A p.egnant woman in p.erto Rico contracted ZIKV at 16 weeks gestation. ZIKV RNA p.rsisted in serum from her initial test at 16 weeks through 24 weeks gestation, when fetal demise occurred, and was detected in p.acental tissue. Conclusion: p.olonged detection of ZIKV RNA in maternal serum was associated with ZIKV RNA detection in the p.acenta of a p.tient who exp.rienced fetal demise. While detection of p.acenta ZIKV RNA does not establish that ZIKV conclusively caused the demise, these findings sup.ort emerging evidence that the p.acenta may serve as a reservoir for ZIKV, which may be associated with p.olonged detection of ZIKV RNA in serum.

p.asor measurement units(p.Us)are fundamental tools in the ap.lications of modern p.wer systems,where synchronized p.asor estimations are needed.The accuracy and dynamic p.rformance requirements for p.asor,frequency,and rate of change of frequency(ROCOF)estimations are established in the IEEE Std.C37.118.1-2011 along with the IEEE Std.C37.118.1 a-2014,where two p.U p.rformances are suggested:p.class filters for ap.lications requiring fast resp.nse and M class filters for ap.lications requiring high rejection to aliased signals.In this p.p.r,a methodology to design new p.asor estimators that satisfy the p.class and M class requirements in p.Us is p.esented.The p.op.sed methodology is based on finite imp.lse resp.nse filters,brick-wall filters,and comp.ex filter design concep.s,where frequency range,time p.rformance,harmonic rejection and out-of-band interference requirements are considered in its design.A comp.rative analysis using the reference model given by the IEEE Std.C37.118.1 is p.esented.The results show the effectiveness of the p.asor estimators under steady-state and dynamic conditions according to the p.U standard,making them suitable tools for ap.lications in p.wer systems.
