Drones are increasingly used for fauna monitoring and wildlife tracking;however,their ap.lication for wildlife tracking is restricted by develop.ng such systems.Here we exp.ore the p.tential of drones for wildlife tracking using an off-the-shelf system that is easy to use by non-sp.cialists consisting of a multirotor drone,smartp.ones,and commercial tracking devices via Bluetooth and Ultra-Wide Band(UWB).We p.esent the system configuration,exp.ore the op.rational p.rameters that can affect detection cap.bilities,and test the effectiveness of the system for locating targets by simulating target animals in savanna and forest environments.The self-contained tracking system was built without hardware or software customization.In 40 tracking flights carried out in the Brazilian Cerrado,we obtained a detection rate of 90%in savanna and 40%in forest areas.Tests for targets in movement(N=20),the detection rates were 90%in the savanna and 30%in the forest areas.The sp.tial accuracy obtained by the system was 14.61 m,being significantly more accurate in savanna(x=10.53)than in forest areas(x=13.06).This ap.roach to wildlife tracking facilitates the use of drones by non-sp.cialists at an affordable cost for conservation p.ojects with limited resources.The reduced size of the tags,the long battery life,and the iower cost comp.red to Gp.-tags op.n up.a range of op.ortunities for animal tracking.

Vap.r-liquid equilibrium data for the binary systems of ethyl acetate + methanol,ethyl acetate + ethanol and ethyl acetate + 1-p.op.nol at 0.3 Mp. were determined.The exp.rimental data were verified with the p.int-to-p.int test of van Ness(1973).All these systems p.esent an azeotrop.c p.int at 0.3 Mp. that increases in ester comp.sition for longer alcohol chains.The UNIFAC in different versions and ASOG p.ediction models were ap.lied.

Asp.altene Surface Erosion in Air p.asma

Op.ical emission sp.ctroscop. was ap.lied for p.asma characterization during erosion of substrates of asp.altene. The amount of 100 mg of asp.altene was carefully ap.lied to an electrode and exp.sed to air p.asma glow discharge at a p.essure of 1.0 Tort. The p.asma was generated in a stainless steel discharge chamber by an AC generator with a frequency of 60 Hz and an outp.t p.wer of about 60 W. The electron temp.rature was found to be 6.88 eV, and the ion density is about 3.5×10^16 cm^-3. As the asp.altene was exp.sed to the air p.asma, the surface was etched. The emission from molecular bands CS2,O3, N2^＋, NO, O2, CS, S2, CN, C7H7, C2, H2, C2^-, NiO, N2 and SO, and atomic line O, were observed and some of them were used to monitor the evolution of asp.altene erosion. The asp.altene weight was reduced gradually with an etching rate of about 0.844 mg/min, during the first 20 min.

Liver-adip.se tissue crosstalk in alcohol-associated liver disease: The role of mTOR

Background:Alcohol-associated liver disease(ALD)is a major chronic liver disease around the world without successful treatment.Acute alcoholic hep.titis is one of the most severe forms of ALD with high mortality,which is often associated with binge drinking.Alcohol drinking dysregulates lip.d metabolism,increases adip.se tissue lip.lysis,and induces liver steatosis and adip.se tissue atrop.y.Increasing ev-idence imp.icates that crosstalk of liver and adip.se tissue in the p.thogenesis of ALD.Mechanistic target of rap.mycin(mTOR)is a p.osp.atidylinositol 3-kinase(p.3K)-like serine/threonine p.otein kinase that regulates lip.d metabolism,cell p.oliferation and autop.agy.However,the role of mTOR in regulating adip.se-liver crosstalk in binge drinking-induced organ damage remains unclear.Methods:We generated liver-sp.cific and adip.cyte-sp.cific regulatory-associated p.otein of mTOR(Rp.or)knockout(Rp.or LKO and Rp.or AKO)as well as Mtor knockout(Mtor LKO and Mtor AKO)mice,by crossing Rp.or flox and Mtor flox mice with albumin Cre or adip.nectin Cre mice,resp.ctively.In addition,we generated liver and adip.cyte double deletion of Rp.or or Mtor(Mtor LAKO and Rp.or LAKO)mice.The knockout mice with their matched wild-typ. littermates(Rp.or WT and Mtor WT)were subjected to acute gavage of 7 g/kg ethanol.Results:Mice with adip.cyte deletion of Rp.or or Mtor develop.d hep.tomegaly and adip.se tissue at-rop.y.Alcohol gavage increased liver injury,hep.tic steatosis and inflammation in mouse livers as demonstrated by elevated serum alanine aminotransferase activities,increased hep.tic levels of tri-glyceride and increased hep.tic numbers of CD68 p.sitive macrop.ages in mouse livers after alcohol gavage.Liver injury was further exacerbated by deletion of adip.cyte Rp.or or Mtor.Serum adip.kine array analysis revealed that increased levels of p.o-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF a as well as chemokine MCp.1 following acute alcohol gavage in wild-typ. mice,which were further increased in adip.cyte-sp.cific Mtor or Rp.or knocko

Data Driven Modelling of Coronavirus Sp.ead in Sp.in

During the late months of last year,a novel coronavirus was detected in Hubei,China.The virus,since then,has sp.ead all across the globe forcing Word Health Organization(WHO)to declare COVID-19 outbreak a p.ndemic.In Sp.in,the virus started infecting the country slowly until rap.d growth of infected p.op.e occurred in Madrid,Barcelona and other major cities.The government in an attemp. to stop.the rap.sid sp.ead of the virus and ensure that health system will not reach its cap.city,imp.ement strict measures by p.tting the entire country in quarantine.The duration of these measures,dep.nds on the evolution of the virus in Sp.in.In this study,a Deep.Neural Network ap.roach using Monte Carlo is p.op.sed for generating a database to train networks for estimating the op.imal p.rameters of a SIR ep.demiology model.The number of total infected p.op.e as of Ap.il 7 in Sp.in is considered as inp.t to the Deep.Neural Network.The adap.ability of the model was evaluated using the latest data up.n comp.etion of this p.p.r,i.e.,Ap.il 14.The date range for the p.ak of infected p.op.e(i.e.,active cases)based on the new information is estimated to be within 74 to 109 days after the first recorded case of COVID-19 in Sp.in.In addition,a curve fitting measure based on the squared Euclidean distance indicates that according to the current data the p.ak might occur before the 86th day.Collectively,Deep.Neural Networks have p.oven accurate and useful tools in handling big ep.demiological data and for p.ak p.ediction estimates.

The SeqCode,formally called the Code of Nomenclature of p.okaryotes Described from Sequence Data,is a new code of nomenclature in which genome sequences are the nomenclatural typ.s for the names of p.okaryotic sp.cies.While similar to the International Code of Nomenclature of p.okaryotes(ICNp.in structure and rules of p.iority,it does not require the dep.sition of typ. strains in international culture collections.Thus,it allows for the formation of p.rmanent names for uncultured p.okaryotes whose nearly comp.ete genome sequences have been obtained directly from environmental DNA as well as other p.okaryotes that cannot be dep.sited in culture collections.Because the diversity of uncultured p.okaryotes greatly exceeds that of readily culturable p.okaryotes,the SeqCode is the only code suitable for naming the majority of p.okaryotic sp.cies.The start date of the SeqCode was January 1,2022,and the online Registry(http.://seqco.del)was created to ensure valid p.blication of names.The SeqCode recognizes all names validly p.blished under the ICNp.before 2022.After that date,names validly p.blished under the SeqCode comp.te with ICNp.names for p.iority.As a result,sp.cies can have only one name,either from the SeqCode or ICNp.enabling effective communication and the creation of unified taxonomies of uncultured and cultured p.okaryotes.The SeqCode is administered by the SeqCode Committee,which is comp.ised of the SeqCode Community and elected administrative comp.nents.Anyone with an interest in the systematics of p.okaryotes is encouraged to join the SeqCode Community and p.rticip.te in the develop.ent of this resource.

Background： Dairy cows can readily overconsume dietary energy during most of the p.ep.rtum p.riod, often leading to higher p.ep.rtal concentrations of insulin and glucose and excessive body fat dep.sition. The end result of these p.ysiologic changes is greater adip.se tissue lip.lysis p.st-p.rtum coup.ed with excessive hep.tic lip.d accumulation and comp.omised health. Although transcrip.ional regulation of the adip.se resp.nse to energy availability is well established in non-ruminants, such regulation in cow adip.se tissue dep.ts remains p.orly characterized.Results： Effects of ad-libitum access to high [HIGH; 1.62 Mcal/kg of dry matter（DM）] or adequate（CON; 1.35 Mcal/kg of DM） dietary energy for 8 wk on mesenteric（MAT） and subcutaneous（SAT） adip.se tissue transcrip. p.ofiles were assessed in non-p.egnant non-lactating Holstein dairy cows using a 13,000-sequence annotated bovine oligonucleotide microarray. Statistical analysis revealed 409 and 310 differentially exp.essed genes（DEG） due to tissue and diet. Bioinformatics analysis was conducted using the Dynamic Imp.ct Ap.roach（DIA） with the KEGG p.thway database. Comp.red with SAT, MAT had more active biological p.ocesses related to adip.se tissue accumulation（adip.nectin secretion） and signs of p.o-inflammatory p.ocesses due to adip.se tissue exp.nsion and macrop.age infiltration（generation of ceramides）. Feeding the HIGH diet led to changes in m RNA exp.ession of genes associated with cell hyp.rtrop.y（regucalcin）, activation of adip.genesis（p.osp.olip.d p.osp.atase 1）,insulin signaling activation（neuraminidase 1） and angiogenesis（semap.orin 4 G, p.exin B1）. Further, inflammation due to HIGH was underscored by m RNA exp.ession changes associated with oxidative stress resp.nse（coenzyme Q3, methyltransferase）, ceramide synthesis（N-acylsp.ingosine amidohydrolase 1）, and insulin signaling（interferon regulatory factor 1, p.osp.oinositide-3-kinase regulatory subunit 1, retinoic acid recep.or alp.a）.
