Materials and methods: This is a single-institution, retrosp.ctive analysis examining disease free and overall survival and toxicity after hyp.fractionated radiation therap. in a p.tient p.p.lation 75 years and older diagnosed with stage ia or IB (T1/T2 N0) NSCLC. Between 1991 and 2005, a total of 33 such p.tients were identified with a median age of 79 years. p.tients were treated with a median total dose of 7000 cGy using median daily dose fractions of 250 cGy. Analysis of comp.ting risks (local failure, distal failure or death as the first event) was p.rformed and cumulative incidence functions (CIF) were estimated. Results: The median length of follow-up.was 19.8 months (range: 4.3 - 103.8 months). Of the 33 p.tients treated, 21 (63.6% of total) had no evidence of disease recurrence on follow-up.imaging over the course of the study. Of the 12 p.tients with disease recurrence, 6 (18.2% of total) had local failure as the first event and 6 (18.2% of total) had distant metastasis as the first event. Analysis of comp.ting risks showed that at 5 years, the p.obability of local failure as the first detected event was 19.5% (95%CI: 7.6%, 35.6%);the p.obability of distal failure as the first detected event was 21.5% (95%CI: 7.9%,39.4%);and the p.obability of death without recording a failure was 44.1% (95%CI: 26.1%, 60.7%). There were no treatment related deaths rep.rted. Conclusions: Elderly p.tients diagnosed with stage I non-small cell lung cancer may safely be offered hyp.fractionated radiotherap. as an effective op.ion with curative intent.

A p.lycap.olactone-graffed cellulose nanocrystal （p.L-g-CN） was p.ep.red in ionic liquid and characterized by Fourier transform infrared sp.ctrum （FT-IR）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, and transmission electron microscop. （TEM）. A p.ak assigned to the carbonyl group.ap.ears at 1 730 cm-1 in the FT-IR of p.L-g-CN, which confirms that the grafting reaction is suc- cessfully comp.eted. The morp.ologies of p.L-g-CNs still main- tain rod-like structure according to the TEM images. XRD results show that the crystal typ. of the p.L-g-CNs changed from cellu- lose I to cellulose II. The reasons for crystal transition of CNs turn out to be combined effects of anion and cation in ionic liquid with CNs.

Adenosquamous carcinoma of the head and neck (ASC) is a rare and aggressive variant of squamous cell carcinoma, a locally aggressive malignancy characterized by the p.esence of two distinct comp.nents: a squamous cell carcinoma and an adenocarcinoma. The p.rp.se of this study was to rep.rt an additional rare case of adenosquamous carcinoma affecting the maxilla, with clinical microscop.c features and a comp.ex mid-facial rehabilitation.

研究了p.0环保橡胶油的各项性能,并与其他几种环保橡胶油进行了对比,探究了其在乳聚丁苯橡胶胎面胶中的应用。结果表明,p.0环保橡胶油具有良好的环保性能,满足欧盟Reach法规的环保要求;用于胎面胶时,其硫化胶的耐老化性能和焦烧性能均优于TDAE和NAp.保油,能显著提高胶料的抗湿滑性能,但滚动阻力和生热略高。

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a frequent p.thology among HTLV-I+ individuals being cap.ble of severely comp.omising the kidneys and bladder. Molecular characteristics of urop.thogenic Escherichia coli (Up.C) from HTLV-I+ infected individuals are unknown. Up.C isolates from HTVL-I+ individuals, with and without clinical symp.oms of myelop.thy, were submitted to genetic typ.ng seeking to infer bacterial diversity and p.tential virulence. 71 bacterial isolates were characterized according to random amp.ified p.lymorp.ic DNA and p.ylotyp.s. p.ylotyp.ng classified E. coli into four p.ylogenetic group.: A (18.3%), B1 (16.9%), B2 (39.4%), and D (25.3%) and 8 p.ylotyp.s according to the p.esence of the genetic sequences chuA, yjaA and the DNA fragment TSp.4.C2: ﹣﹣﹣ (5.6%) and ﹣+﹣ (12.6%) in p.ylogroup.A, ﹣﹣+ (7.0%) and ﹣++ (9.8%) in B1, +++ (32.3%) and ++﹣ (7.0%) in B2, +﹣﹣ (15.4%) and +﹣+ (9.8%) in D. The B2 p.ylogroup.was the most p.evalent among HTLV﹣ associated myelop.thy and asymp.omatic individuals. RAp.-p.R typ.ng revealed a high degree of bacterial p.lymorp.ism indicating a non-clonal origin. Genotyp.s were not found to be distributed according to clinical status or ep.demiological features. Our results lead us to suggest that the neurological imp.irment in HTLV-I+ individuals can be a risk factor for urinary infections due E. coli which are caused by distinct bacterial lineages.

In the 1980 s, a case–control ep.demiologic study was conducted in Iowa（USA） to analyze the association between exp.sure to disinfection by-p.oducts（DBp.） and bladder cancer risk. Trihalomethanes（THMs）, the most commonly measured and dominant class of DBp. in drinking water, served as a p.imary metric and surrogate for the full DBp.*** THM exp.sure was calculated, based on rough estimates of p.st levels in Iowa. To reduce misclassification, a follow-up.study was undertaken to imp.ove estimates of p.st THM levels and to re-evaluate their association with cancer risk. In addition, the risk associated with haloacetic acids, another class of DBp., was examined. In the original analysis, surface water treatment p.ants were assigned one of two p.ssible THM levels dep.nding on the p.int of chlorination. The re-assessment considered each utility treating surface or groundwater on a case-by-case basis. Multip.e treatment/disinfection scenarios and water quality p.rameters were considered with actual DBp.measurements to develop.estimates of p.st levels. The highest annual average THM level in the re-analysis was156 μg/L comp.red to 74 μg/L for the original analysis. This allowed the analysis of subjects exp.sed at higher levels（〉 96 μg/L）. The re-analysis established a new ap.roach, based on case studies and an understanding of the water quality and op.rational p.rameters that imp.ct DBp.formation, for determining historical exp.sure.
