The Nipah virus(NiV)infection is one of the newly emerging deadly zoonotic diseases which carries a significant weightage of mortality among its *** to the relatively recent history of its emergence and only a few known outbreaks,we cannot predict but foresee its potential to create havoc,which can be far more dreadful than the current ongoing COVID-19 *** we have tried to depict the fatal potential of the virus and the increased propensity with which it can spread to rest of the world.

Cementitious materials reinforced with well dispersed multiwall carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） and carbon nanofibers （CNFs） at the nanoscale were fabricated and tested. The MWCNTs and CNFs were dispersed by the application of ultrasonic energy and the use of a superplasticizer. Mechanical and fracture properties including flexural strength, Young＇s modulus, flexural and fracture toughness were measured and compared with similarly processed reference cement based mixes without the nano-reinforcement. The MWCNTs and CNFs reinforced mortars exhibited superior properties demonstrated by a significant improvement in flexural strength （106%）, Young＇s modulus （95%）, flexural toughness （105%）, effective crack length （30%） and fracture toughness （120%）.

In this study,we report that Berlin Green(FeFe-BG)framework exhibits superior performance in the catalytic coupling of carbon disulfide(CS_(2))and propylene oxide(pO)to generate a random copolymer containing thioether,propylene monothiocarbonate and ether *** and sulfur atom exchange was detected in polymeric and cyclic thiocarbonate byproducts and utilized to modulate the copolymerization of CS_(2)and propylene *** coupling of pO and CS_(2)was selective for copolymer formation under various reaction conditions.^(1)H and^(13)C NMR spectroscopy determined two distinct polymer linkages and two cyclic *** number average molecular weights ranged from 6.4 kg/mol to 10.5 kg/mol,with a comparatively low polydispersity of *** CS_(2)/pO molar feed ratio had a significant impact on the O/S exchange process;the ratio of cyclic thiocarbonate byproducts could be efficiently regulated by tuning the CS_(2)molar feed ratio.

Fast and sensitive LC–MS/MS method for the simultaneous determination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide in human plasma

A sensitive and rapid liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC–MS/MS) method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of lisinopril(LIS) and hydrochlorothiazide(HCTZ) in human plasma using their labeled internal standards(ISs). Sample pre-treatment involved solid phase extraction on Waters Oasis HLB cartridges using 100 μL of plasma, followed by liquid chromatography on Hypersil Gold C_(18)(50 mm×3.0 mm, 5 μm) column. The analytes were eluted within 2.0 min using acetonitrile-5.0 m M ammonium formate, p H 4.5(85:15, v/v) as the mobile phase. The analytes and ISs were analyzed in the negative ionization mode and quantified using multiple reaction monitoring. The method showed excellent linearity over the concentration range of 0.50–250.0 ng/m L for both the analytes. The intra-batch and inter-batch precision(% CV) was ≤5.26% and their extraction recoveries were in the range of 96.6%–103.1%. Matrix effect evaluated in terms of IS-normalized matrix factors ranged from 0.97 to 1.03 for both the analytes. The validated method was successfully applied to determine the plasma concentration of the drugs using 10 mg lisinopril and 12.5 mg hydrochlorothiazide fixed dose formulation in 18 healthy Indian volunteers.

An improved and reliable ultra-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry （UpLC- MS/MS） method has been developed and validated for the determination of lercanidipine in human plasma. plasma samples with lercanidipine-d3 as an internal standard （IS） were prepared by solid phase extraction on phenomenex Strata-X cartridges using 100 μL of human plasma. Chromatographic analysis was performed on UpLC BEH C18 （50 mm × 2.1 mm, 1.7 μm） column under isocratic conditions. Linear calibration curves were obtained over a wide dynamic concentration range of 0.010-20.0 ng/mL. Matrix effect was assessed by post-column infusion, post-extraction spiking and standard-line slope methods. The mean extraction recovery was 〉 94% for the analyte and IS. Inter-batch and intra-hatch precision （% CV） across five quality controls was 〈 5.8%. Bioequivalence study was performed with 36 healthy sub- jects after oral administration of 10 mg of lercanidipine and the assay reproducibility was evaluated by reanalysis of 133 incurred samples.

Introduction:The ecological processes underlying the suppressive impacts of invasive species on native species diversity,both above-and below-ground,in non-native regions are not well *** therefore aimed to investigate the cross-city biogeographic patterns of arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM)diversity in Conyza canadensis rhizosphere in native(North American)and non-native(kashmir Himalayan)***:We recovered AMF spores from rhizospheric soils of Conyza in native and non-native ranges,besides doing so from the uninvaded sites in the introduced *** extracted from AMF spores was processed for cloning and pCR-RFLp of SSU rRNA gene to yield the restriction groups(RGs)followed by their sequence analysis to determine the sequence groups(SGs).Results:The results indicated greater diversity of RGs and SGs in Conyza rhizosphere in native than in non-native *** the introduced region,however,the AMF diversity was more in uninvaded than in invaded *** species composition of AMF varied significantly between native and non-native regions and so also between invaded and uninvaded ***:Though difference in AMF diversity between Conyza invaded and uninvaded sites may be attributed to invasion,the role of other evolutionary factors seems likely for differences between the native and non-native *** suggest that the ecological processes underlying these evolutionary differences in two biogeographic regions,besides the intensity of urbanization,might play some role in these differences.

Tracheostomy manipulations: Impact on tracheostomy safety

Importance: Tracheotomy is one of the riskiest procedures for composite morbidity within pediatric otolaryngology. During the postoperative period, each time the tracheostomy tube is manipulated, there is opportunity for morbidity (e.g. a patient is vulnerable to accidental decannulation and airway loss). Objective: To identify areas of improvement in caring for 'fresh tracheostomy' patients by determining the number of times a tracheostomy tube is manipulated from placement until discharge. The hypothesis is that the more a tracheostomy is manipulated, the higher probability of morbidity. Methods: A quality improvement initiative was conducted to map the care of patients who underwent tracheostomy placement over 12 months. Tracheostomy care and manipulation by all providers were reviewed. Complications, wound care, and respiratory treatments were also evaluated. Results: patients were hospitalized for an average of 39 days (7–140) following tracheostomy. The first tracheostomy tube change occurred on average 6 days (5–10) following placement. Tracheostomy tubes were manipulated an average of 6 (2.5–11.9) times a day to amount to 216 (51–1091) times between placement and discharge. Bedside nurses and respiratory therapists were responsible for 95% of these actions;physicians accounted for 4%. There were 6 tracheostomy related complications. Three were accidental decannulations resulting in cardiopulmonary arrest. One of these caused long term patient morbidity. patients with more than 4 manipulations per day during the 2 weeks following tracheostomy tube placement, were more likely to have a tracheostomy related complication than those with less than 4 (OR: 12.5;95% CI: 1.2–130.6;p = 0.0349). Interpretation: While uncommon, complications related to tracheostomy can have serious long term effects and at best prolongs length of stay for patients. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) uses high frequency alternating current to heat a volume of tissue around a needle electrode to induce focal coagulative necrosis with minimal injury to surrounding tissues. RFA can be performed via an open, laparoscopic, or image guided percutaneous approach and be performed under general or local anesthesia. Advances in delivery mechanisms, electrode designs, and higher power generators have increased the maximum volume that can be ablated, while maximizing oncological outcomes. In general, RFA is used to control local tumor growth, prevent recurrence, palliate symptoms, and improve survival in a subset of patients that are not candidates for surgical resection. It's equivalence to surgical resection has yet to be proven in large randomized control trials. Currently, the use of RFA has been well described as a primary or adjuvant treatment modality of limited but unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma, liver metastasis, especially colorectal cancer metastases, primary lung tumors, renal cell carcinoma, boney metastasis and osteoid osteomas. The role of RFA in the primary treatment of early stage breast cancer is still evolving. This review will discuss the general features of RFA and outline its role in commonly encountered solid tumors.
